  2. Kareem Kinte liked a post in a topic by Leady in Where we've come from, Where we are headed.
Just over 3 months ago ownership of Asylum was transferred to @BaDaBiNg_10-8 and @Clint Beastwood. A lot has been accomplished in that short time span with much more planned. This topic is to acknowledge those accomplishments and share a roadmap for the future of Asylum.
     Within the first 30 Days
Servers returned to full or nearly full during peak times Opened up past bans for a second chance Brought on a new lead developer 3 contributors were also brought in Removed the unpopular money and group caps Within the last 3 months
Migrated servers to a new host Updated the website front and back end (it needed it badly) Continued to roll out a patch every month that not only fixes past issues but takes community feedback and makes it a reality Increased server stability (While we aren't where we would like to be yet, it has come a long way from December) Upgraded player reporting systems to a streamlined ticket system (Shout out to Mitch for this one) Introduced new weapons to the player base This is just a snap shot from the last 90 days. Even more has been done on the back end to improve server stability and functionality.

Now that we've looked at what has been done, a preview is in order for the future of asylum.
A complete re-write of asylum's code from the ground up Replacement of current MyAsylum page and features A re-work of the housing/crate system Re-work of vehicle, police, and ems lighting White-listed medics Various cartel changes  Additional armor and weapons New vehicle and clothing skins Re-work of talent trees Many more items on the list, these are just some of the features we are most excited for. As with anything in development all points are subject to not only change but may never see the light of day. In an effort to be transparent we felt it was time give a glimpse behind the scenes of what the Dev's are working on in addition to the regular content/bug fix patches. @Mitch (IFRIT) and myself look over the suggestion section of the forums almost daily and take that feedback and pass it a long to the owners and dev's for what the community wants and in some cases doesn't want. And while not everything suggested will be implemented we value that feedback and want to give a big thank you to those who offer it.

As a final note I wanted to take a line or two and say Thank You to the community as a whole. With out you Asylum wouldn't exist. From the admins  who dedicate their free time looking over player reports and compensation requests, to the support staff who sit in Teamspeak everyday waiting to help players, to the gangs whom without the APD wouldn't have much to do, to the APD for keeping the streets safe for the apple pickers and diamond miners, to the Kavalians teaching new players how to put their hands up when being robbed, Thank You. The people are what makes Asylum what it is.

  3. Kareem Kinte liked a post in a topic by TRYHARD in APD - Miss use of lethals ( SUGGESTION )
My biggest issue with lethaling is cops often use the "Unreachable" excuse to justify lethaling people that are simply far away and not in unreachable locations. If you put yourself in a position to shoot someone but not restrain them it should be the responsibility of the officer to make sure someone is close enough to retrain them. Civs shouldn't suffer so that cops can play sniper elite.
  4. Kareem Kinte liked a post in a topic by Smee in APD - Miss use of lethals ( SUGGESTION )
    How the System works:
APD officer "votes" for lethal ammunition - ( officer states reason for use of lethal rounds ) - This will allow civilians to see the reason being and can be "reported" if misused.  APD officers of such rank of SGT or higher can IMMEDIATELY APPROVE of lethal ammunition. APD officers on NOT as such rank such as Corporal or Constables, the first officer to press button will and must have a reason, if not POINTS can be given. As officers Vote and has been approved ( Majority vote) then officer will have the ability to use lethal ammunition. A timer of 10 minutes to defuse a situation with lethal ammunition before going back to "tracer". How it can be effective for General usage:
APD officers constantly asking can we go lethals from of a lower rank. APD officers when have the option can go ahead and use this advantage at any point when "APPROVED" by majority vote. APD officers must state a "VALID REASON" and can be given points if misused. Civilians are notified when APD officers are authorised of lethals ( this being to avoid miss conflict and being in places where not suppose to be) Civilians have the ability to know who Voted for "lethal ammunition" to give further proof. Civilains are able to leave areas of which fire fight occurs to avoid being killed. How it can promote game play:
More RP ( this being that not any offcer can lethal on demand and requires a majority vote ) Avoid loading wrong magazine Avoid APD reports for ; Corruption, Improper use of equipment. Extra information
Simply click option on Phone, Providing area on a drop down menu ( City, Prison, Fed, bank and or Cartels )- Also a reason stated. IR laser re-implemented. Removal of lethal ammunition from shops.
People please post thoughts and concerns below,  my personal opinion, but would be a hell of a suggestion to implement and or improve.

    +1

Honestly at this point 7.62 are simply to powerful. No gun should be able to shoot through ANY type of wall. It’s a WALL. It’s there for a reason. Either remove them or let everyone access them (even medics, reviving people is dangerous sometimes)

i think it wuld be a really good idea to remove 7.62 from rebel because it wuld make the server alout better

    Added-
Wearing a gang tag for a gang in which you are not in will result in admin action. This is being implemented to reduce the confusion during initation, gang wars, etc. It should go without mentioning that this has the potential to negatively impact a gangs reputation if unauthorized users are representing a gang's tag.

Add rangefinders that cannot get names of those that have masks on.  So there’s a trade off.

All Prime wanted to do was roach a prison man and you sent them back to the respawn screen
  12. Akula liked a post in a topic by Kareem Kinte in Return the price of Prowlers and Qilins to normal
A few more ideas for Qilins/Prowlers:
Add doors back and keep price.
Keep doors removed and drop base price to 15k.
Revert back to 150/140 virtual storage, keep doors removed, make base price 30k.
Of course everyone loves Qilins and Prowlers for their own reasons and these ideas individually wouldn't appease everyone. But time and time again they have been nerfed to appeal to certain groups. Im not sure if it would be possible to add in multiple modified versions of the Qilin/Prowler. Ex. Qilin/Prowler(Cargo), Qilin/Prowler(Doors), Qilin/Prowler(No Doors). It would allow people to buy the type of Qilin/Prowler they want for their specific use case.

It would immerse me in my roleplay way more than clicking certain spots on the map to find a distance. Please don't ruin my immersion any longer.

I don’t see any reason why we can’t add them.

The big advantage is that you can use the rangefinder and NVGs at the same time so you can spot people far away at night time much easier. Overall should be added.
