It has been in my experience that houses are scarce and you are likely never going to pay market value. Through some of the groups I've played with and through word of mouth, I've heard about players using multiple accounts to allow for more houses then the limited five. I believe that this should not be permitted as it evades the housing restriction and contributes to the problem of a lack of houses for new players. Any constructive thoughts and discussion are appreciated.
