Killswitch
This was an idea that I wrote up to be implemented in Asylum quite awhile ago. With the new help from KBW and Bamf, maybe they will actually look at this and give it a more serious thought. So maybe if the community really likes the idea, it may or may not be implemented. It is quite the read... Asylum Medical Department After reading many posts about medics, it appears that community would really like to get our medics whitelisted on the servers. Sneaky and myself are willing to lead this and kick it off. After we get it going, I would like a trusted member of the community to take over and continue to lead this. Ranking Structure Medical Director Enforce the medical rules and help improve the quality of the medical staff Promote EMTs to EMT Field Supervisors Encourage role-play amongst the community and AMD Staff Establish new ideas and innovations to add towards Medics Aid in helping the civilians/officers EMT Follow the medical rules and train the Medical Trainees Encourage role-play amongst the community and AMD Staff Aid in helping the civilians/officers Medical Trainee Learn the medical rules and train under the EMTs Improve on role-play and stay in character Aid in helping the civilians/officers Rules Follow Asylum Rules Role-play everything and stay in character as best as you can Spread out throughout the map. Not every medic needs to be in Kavala and Agia Marina Do not sell medical supplies or vehicles Do not intentionally harm anyone or wreck vehicles (exception - self defense) Use Emergency Lights and Sirens when responding to a call Medic is not meant as a tool to follow around your gang/APD or assist your gang/APD. Using medic as a tool to “stalk” your gang/APD will result in blacklisting. Medics are suppose to help everyone, whether APD, rebel, or civilian. There is no age limit and you are not obligated to be on Teamspeak. However, we do highly recommend you to play on Teamspeak to help coordinate different areas to assist civilians. Talents - 32 Total (May be more based on implementation) - 20 Max Combat Medic - ability to revive someone First Responder - see someones 911 request 1km radius of location Paramedic - see someones 911 request 3km radius of location Medic Dispatch - see 911 requests 5km radius of location Life Alert - see 911 requests entire map Bariatric Ambulance - Ability to buy Offroad Quick Response - Ability to buy SUV -- Pop-up Clinic - Ability to station a temporary clinic (loaded into offroad) --- Medivac - ability to buy a Hummingbird ---- Flying Doctor - ability to buy a Hellkat (new skin) m900? Only if the hellcat idea is shot down. currently the medic hummingbird has limited seating (to prevent gang abuse?) So if we whitelist we tell them not to abuse it and if they are caught they will be blacklisted. Public Service - receive taxi requests (scroll wheel option for tip - bank acct to bank acct) Trained Mechanic - ability to repair vehicles Grease Monkey - increase speed of repairing -- Triple A - receive vehicle repair requests Nourished - food and drink consumption reduced by 25% Hunger Games - food and drink consumption reduced by 50% Awareness - Ability to see all the medics on the map Heavy Load - ability to buy a Assault Backpack Pockets - ability to buy Raven Vest Smokey and the Bandit - Ability to purchase purple smoke grenades Pill Pusher - pain killers are always available I/V Technician - blood bagging is 15% faster on others I/V Expert - blood bagging is 30% faster on others I/V Master - blood bagging is 50% faster on others and you do not consume a blood bag Orthopedics - splints are always available Orthopedic Specialist - splinting someone is 15% faster Orthopedic Nurse - splinting someone is 25% faster Orthopedic Doctor - splinting someone is 50% faster on others and you do not consume a splint Triage - defib 15% faster Triage Expert - defib 30% faster Triage Master - defib 50% faster Master Combat Medic - 5 minute cooldown is negated Small things to fix/add: Medic sirens have to cycle before being able to shut off. Change them to police sirens to turn on and off as you hit “F”. Option to drag knocked out players to a safer location. Helipad in pyrgos Ability to heal people to full health by putting them in/near the hellcat or a box truck. When someone actually clicks “request medic” they should not be able to respawn for a set period of time. Some type of talent to harvest organs from people who respawn. Sometimes people request medic and then respawn before you can get there. When they do this: Add a timed mission to retrieve their organs and bring them back to the hospital for a payout. Increase death timer to 8 minutes or so Random Suggestions: -Medics able to sell medical supplies from vehicles at an inflated cost (since it would be convenient.) They get a portion of the sale. - Make the revive system tougher. Someone who is revived should be fatigued and have the shakes until seeing an EMT or going to a hospital. (would help with the defib spam by cops/rebels) - Random chance of being in a “state of shock (downed and cannot be ziptied or could use the overdose animation)” when revived by a non EMT. Requires a medic to come and use an adrenaline shot to pick you up. Also, the Hippocratic Oath similar to the APD oath thingy: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c7EDEPabhi8fEC8K7F_fvs5ono1OXsAmR6j9quDG4_o/edit?usp=sharing Edited April 29, 2016 by Killswitch Starance, Padrinos, Outlander and 37 others like this Link to comment

Bikstok
+1 When I first started playing Altis Life it was on a European server with whitelisted medics. You could always count on them reviving you in car crashes, and you got some hilarious RP experiences. Haych and JAY1HP like this Link to comment
Cifunds
What if we are Whitelisted as a police officer are we able to go on EMTs? IAmLegion likes this Link to comment

I would assume you would have to be whitelisted for both...since there would be different rules, probably would be easier for you to be white-listed EMT. Zoex likes this Link to comment
Mr. Flynnstone
+1 I've been wanting something like this to be added and it would promote rp and medic's would be useful in the long run as the people that play medic 90% of the time dont respond and they will be more beneficial if they were white listed Link to comment
Joel
+1 Sounds like a really cool idea. The only issue I see to this would be that If you put a medic inside of Athira or Sofia, as soon as he notices no one is there he is for sure going to go somewhere else (Kavala). (Sorry if you did manage to include something about this issue, I'm currently not home and skimmed it.) Overall Not a bad idea. Link to comment
KevinOB
Would love to see it happen, but it always seemed Paratus wanted EMT to be free for all. Link to comment
Vanilla
+1 sounds awesome If some of those suggestions were implemented the role of medic would be far more useful. Would definitely change fire fights as well. Edited April 29, 2016 by Vanilla Link to comment
HenryHoover
+1 I love this idea I have always wanted to be a whitelisted medic and if we had it I would gladly go for it. I think we should implement this as it does improve rp for people, but as people say this server is 'light rp' and they won't be happy, mainly due to the fact that they will have to remove civ and cop revives or add a debuff long timers to it or something. Haych
This is great. I always see admins worried about giving medics too much to abuse, however making it a whitelisted faction solves these issues. Any abuse in the gear they use to give another factions a advantage will result them in blacklisting is great. On my previous server they where able to get to scenes much faster with the Orcas/Sports Hatchbacks they received depending on the rank of the medic. The highest ranking Medic Director received a Taru Medical and boy that made for some hilarious roleplay with the benches you can lay down at the back etc.. They also received wetsuits that made it easier to revive people who have died inside the water. The only issue Asylum has that doesn't make medics worth it, is the very short 5 minutes respawn timer. Its one of the other type of thing. You increase that timer, it becomes unbalanced in Cartels, you keep it the way it is, you keep the current issue we have of medics never leaving Kavala because they can't make it to dead people in 5 minutes. Its a very hard thing to balance. Edited April 30, 2016 by Haych JAY1HP likes this Link to comment

If someone respawns before the 5min timer is up, you still go to the scene and collect the organs to return to hospital for $. This gives medics a little something extra to do and it can be timed based on distance as well. There were a few things in addition to what killswitch posted that we discussed. The truth is, there have been some amazing opportunities for improvement that we missed. Haych and TNT like this Link to comment

Guest
When you originally shared this I loved it and I still do. I shared it with @bamf and in the Dev chat. As you know it changes Paratus' vision of giving people the chance to try something outside of civ life without the hassle of a whitelisting process. I think it's something that might be doable with how if someone messes up we have the ability to blacklist them from a medic slot without having a full whitelisting process. Hopefully now that Bamf can focus on things like this there is more of a potential for fresh content like this. Big Bird and HenryHoover like this Link to comment
