LaGrange
Hey everyone, So as some of you know, I have been gaming on a MacBook Pro for the past 2+ years on Asylum. I have finally decided it's about time to build a proper PC. I plan to buy whatever the community jointly agrees on! I do not know how much I want to spend on the PC honestly. ~$1000 is a soft budget line, ~$1500 is the hard budget line (I would need some convincing to pay this much). I don't have a monitor yet, so this would include that. Help me find the best parts for my PC and I will buy them! I don't really know where to start, but I'll put out a test build from PCPartPicker in a few moments. Roberino, SharingWriter, Noble and 2 others like this Link to comment
Bobby Swagger
well first off the graphics card you would probably want to get is the new Nvidia 1080 or 1070. Link to comment
Blackedition
z170 mobo intel i7 6700k gtx 9XX g- card. decent ram ddr4 250 gig ssd 1 t HDD. Edited June 10, 2016 by Blackedition Link to comment
Churu
Well, graphics card is one of the most important things so go for either gtx 980(hardcore budget) 970(low budet) and if you wanna get something new then get 1080. Link to comment
Vortex
I'm running the intel i7 6700k for CPU and im nothing but pleased with its output, some say its overkill, but i say its 100% worth it with the performance and the task's it can do, As of GPU im running the GTX970 and i haven't had any problems with it, not the most expensive one but it has a solid performance. Make sure you get a SSD Link to comment

The 850 evo is only $20 more for the 250 vs 120 and even 250 gb fills up fast using it for my games drive. Link to comment

TripleSeven
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/V9GJxY Threw this together pretty quickly but left you a bit of room for mouse and keyboard and if you wanted to wait for the 1070 you could fit that in to it also. Donk
I7-6700k, 16gigs of ddr4, z97 msi m7 mobo, gtx1070(or the 9xx series), 250g ssd. Also with the 6700k it doesn't come with a stock cooler so you need to get one; I'd recommend the h110. I have all these parts and get 60-80 fps Link to comment
>k1w1z<
Please dont go with the i7 6700k, I would go with the i5 6600k, even that is a little over kill. Link to comment

dragonfade1228
If your making yourself this will be below your budget. -Intel core i7 4820k -GTX 980 -16 GB Ram -500 GB SSD -2 TB Hard Drive This is overkill for Arma and most other games in my opinion. Link to comment

The way the game is optimised is that the CPU does most of the work so if you splash alot of your money on say a 1080, for example, your CPU will bottleneck your graphics. A lot of people here are saying to get the 1080 but if you're only playing arma it's a complete waste of money. At the moment, a 970 is easily enough to run everything ultra, and is the card I've got. Anything above for Arma is pointless and you might aswell spend more on the CPU.
