1. How do you go about doing voice over's on your video

2. I read that if you make your video's 10 minutes or longer youtube will pop them up as promotions and things like that is this true?

3. Do you think a Banner / custom image and all that is needed? If so how did you go about getting yours?

4. Do you prefer Speed Time Lapses or Transitions:? If Transitions what kind.

5. Do you monetize your videos / and or add  AD's? If so why if not why so?

1. I think Smi77y has a tutorial on his channel on how to do that

2. The algorithm for youtube is pretty fucked rn, so yeah videos over the 10 minute mark are more likely to be promoted by the youtube homepage etc

3. It makes you look more official, plus it looks pretty nice if its made well.

4. Transitions are better, time lapses look awful and look messy

5. Be careful about monetizing videos, if you use a copy righted song, all of it can be taken away from you. I think they fixed the system now, so random people could put false copy right strikes and just claim all your money, now it gives like a 30 day period where all the money goes to youtube, and then once the problem is solved all that money goes to the rightful owner.

I really appreciate all that - I have a few copy righted video's so thats good to know

I was thinking of making 10 minute video's cause I feel like I make some good video's but there not reaching the people who would view them - on a count of most forums for other games actually suck ass and no one uses them unlike this community.

I am not really good with YouTube but I know how most of the stuff works, did some YouTube videos in the past and got bored, and did not have the right setup. Might go back to it since I have a really nice setup.

1. People record the video and put it into a video editor (Used to use Sony Vegas) and remove the sound, watch the video and talk over it making it the same length as the video in audacity or any voice recording program, put it into the video editor where you remove the audio, you can even lower the background noise, don't have to fully remove it.

2. I am not sure about this, since I have not uploaded to YouTube in couple of years.

3. It is not necessary, but if you are trying to get subscribers/likes and what not, maybe become famous lol, then you most likely want to get one, you can make these yourself, they are pretty easy to make in photoshop or whatever.

4. Transitions.

5. I did not because I did not expect to get that amount of views that I did, I thought that there is no point because if I would I would make couple of cents, but it turned out that I would make couple hundred dollars from my videos but it was too late. If you are getting good amounts of views, subscribers, and likes then go ahead, I do not see why not, it doesn't hurt.

I know a few people that upload there videos to reddit and stuff, if you were to upload it to reddit i think that would be a pretty good way of getting it out there, I would say 15-10 mins is a good length for a video, if you ever got to the stage were you can; try get a sponsor sort of thing if you know what I mean. That way you might have an extra cash flow + if they have a website you will likely be advertised on it. (Example would be like Machinima, i think thats how its spelt)

1. lower in-game sound or just mute it and place shitty royalty free music in the background, and talk that shit fam

2. I know that you make more revenue money if they're longer than 10 mins

3. Definitely not NEEDED, but would help to make your channel more appealing. I'd use photoshop with a lay-out of the youtube banner sizes etc.

4. Solely depends on what you want to lapse or transition into.

5. Cuz I ain't a youtuber but if I was, I probably would.

1. If you are using sony vegas, there's a built in feature that allows you to record while watching the video, so you can commentate it as you watch in on vegas. If you're not going to use vegas, you can use a program like audacity and record your audio while watching the video.

2. If you have a video over 10 minutes, it will monetize it differently, and they'll get another ad in the middle of the video, meaning more money.

3. Banner is really something you should worry about until further down the road in your youtube career. if you are first starting off, you can have a basic image and if people enjoy your content, then you can start making your channel more professional.

4. It really depends. Let's say you're making csgo content, and you want to speed it up a little bit into the next kill in a round then time lapse would be okay, but in almost every other situation, a transition is better.

5. Yes. Monetize videos with ads. You're putting in effort to make the video, might as well make a little bit of money from it!

also, if you ever need help editing / recording or any of that stuff, feel free to message me. It's what I really enjoy doing so I'd be more than willing to help!

I once posted a video which was my first video when I was like 10 on this game in steam called digger online it's like minecraft and get 30,000 views, then did tutorials and kept on getting 5,000-15,000 views from each tutorial which is still bad but I was surprised at the 30,000, I even unlisted that video cause I was a squeaker lol

Now with transitions how would you go about making it Obvious that your getting a Multi kill? Maybe put like a kill counter in small text at the top?

I would recommend naming your videos a little bit more "professionally" I mean like normal, maybe long titles because that is what is used when people search for videos, if you have a common name that is searched all the time you will get more views and what not. Make sure it is related to the content just make it something more simple, not sure how to fully explain it lol

Haha I kind of get what your saying but if you can give me an example that would be dope.

I was thinking the naming is off - but I wasn't sure what to name stuff

As in like it auto plays the most recent video?

https://gyazo.com/fb975ca6b3005a2330dbee3aa8c6e0b8

Yeh this is how it looks for me. You can set new visitors to see a trailer and subs to see your latest video and you can add different things like https://gyazo.com/7a38ad023d7fca947fa2ec950180a08c

It's nice to have it layed out how you like it and how your viewers would like

You can also add channels for other people you play with etc to help each other grow.

lmao , maybe. Another thing i was thinking about was taking out the music in the video';s and just leaving it to more gameplay sounds. Putting Music in stuff seems like its just an Arma3 Thing

It depends man, if you're making a commentary, it's nice to have a little music in the back (Obviously quite, but loud enough you can hear it) that way if you run out of something to say, there isn't an awkward silence.

How do you avoid the copyright's from all the music though?"

just look at my channel to see how to be a pro youtuber

lol seriously though I just posted regularly, good thumbnails, max tags, and 10min+ helps. Was steadily growing but didn't have time to focus on it. def want quality over quantity but quantity helps get your views up

You just can't use copyrighted music really. It will save you a lot of hassle to just search up Non Copyrighted music. Be careful with games as well. Microsoft doesn't let just anyone monetize content from their games. Blizzard lets you use any of the content and monetize your videos with no problems (As long as it isn't offensive such as racism, porn, etc.) I think Steam is the same as Blizzard when it comes to their games. I'm pretty sure Nintendo is strict with who publishes videos with their games as well.

Im not really looking to monetize anything I just think that there are a few video;'s that I have - that are well done and the fact that they get 70 views compaired to a 10 second video with 500 that i made pissed me off. I wanted a way to maybe smoothen the process or learn how it works - and so far I've learned a lot from this thread
