They should also get Nightstalker scopes with thermals

Shift + left click and you can place a marker on the map.

When you exit the map, that marker is visible when you look in the general direction in-which you have relatively placed it. (It displays a metric distance between you and the placed marker).

Use this as a reference point for distance, for traveling, etc; it's an incredibly useful feature.
