Treeherder Posted October 12, 2017 Report Share Posted October 12, 2017 So I got my os sorted but now whenever i try to install my graphics drivers the computer crashes mid way through. tried a bunch of legacy drivers/updading os and same thing resulted. the other day before this I was getting blue vertically segmented lines on my screen. any advice? is my card fucked or is it software? Make sure your not installing a 32 bit version with a 64 bit version or vice versa. Also if your installing the drivers from a disk try just downloading the lastest one to a usb instead. You're basically running in VGA until you get your graphics card drivers to "speak" correctly to the hardware. It seems once it gets on the hardware you start noticing the affects. ^Connor_K Posted October 12, 2017 Report Share Posted October 12, 2017 If you have multiple pci express 3.0/2.0 slots, try putting the gpu into a different slot. also make sure its getting the right power to it such as the correct cables to the gpu itself as well as enough power(watts).
