Gang Wars

Hosted by Insanity

We will be participating, no special treatment shall occur

 

Gang Wars is an event where any gang has a chance to fight for the prize, this iteration's being 1 Million to be split between the winning Gang. Any gang is allowed to enter, and any gang can win. This will be hosted on the Gaming Asylum TS (or the Insanity TS if moderation is needed) and each Gang can use their own for communications. We will try to get this done in one day, however up to 3 days have been built in.

 

When

*2/26/16 (2 weeks from today) Friday

On 2/20 the ladder will be put up with a video proving randomness, I will create a conversation with each gang leader(s) to schedule time

*may last until 2/28 where ultimately a winner will be decided

Setup

Gang Wars will be a Gang v Gang event hosted at locations (the best of the cartel locations) set by each Gang. Each match will be a BO1, the participating Gangs will each choose 1 location and then randomly selected, the team that picks that location has to attack it. If the tie-breaking match is needed during semi-finals BO3, it will be hosted at a random location in a way that makes it fair for each gang.

Prize

The winning Gang will receive 3 Million to share between the participants, however, donations to the pot can occur to make the prize pot larger, and potentially prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. PM for info on this.

Rules

EDIT: Loadouts will now be supplied or compensated for

-Players are allowed to stream

-Players caught Stream-Sniping will be swiftly dealt with

-No chopping of vehicles used (Maximum 2 ifrits, 1 .50 cal, and 1 orca can be used per gang)

-Each gang is required to have at least 8 participants, no more than 10 at the cartel. Number matching can occur

-Any gang caught interfering with either gear-up processes or the fight will be disqualified

-Any gang caught breaking rules will be disqualified

-Keep shit talk to a minimum to encourage participation

-Rules are subject to change if any more are needed

(Any smaller gang that may not have numbers/cash flow to participate can PM me and we can work something out, remember that after it's over you will be compensated!)

Overall, this is for fun! I expect a large showing and to have a great time. Plenty of time has been given in advance, so please come out for the showing!

A: I've messaged a few admins for minimal help, but overall I'd much rather have this not go the way most of the others have. It's a way to promote cartels and give an incentive, not just to see who the best is!

A: Any gang that will have trouble paying for 3 20k loadouts after 2 weeks of participation can message me for help, whether that be some protected meth runs, handouts, etc.

 

Q:  is there a deadline for roster?

A: Preferably 2/20, but can be done 2/25!

 

Q:  What server is this going down on? Or will it be on a private server that has the same cartel system?

A: Will be determined based on the day/who is fighting. I don't foresee needing to put up a separate server.

So say the 1mil was split between by 10 players. Each would get 100k. Now let's say 8 gangs sign up. You get to the finals and died without getting defib'd once every round. IF you do win at this point you lost 4 loadouts that cost 20-25k. You pretty much made no money between the load outs and pulling out vehicles. If you die a bunch you could end up spending 250k to just lose in the finals and get nothing. You are just asking people to fight with their own money for a chance to maybe break even if they win.

Also a gang shouldn't host a gang tournament they are going to participate in. What if you guys get knocked out first round or lose in the finals to something you think is bullshit? Will the tournament still go on or will the winners get paid?

A: The prize pot has already been increased to 1.7m as of donations! Insanity winning or losing will have no effect on the rest of the tournament because it's only me actually hosting it. If 8 gangs sign up, the max gear you can lose is 3 loadouts, or 75k just for that 1 match, but by the time the event begins I fully expect to be able to have a payout of 100k for each player on the winning team on top of an extra amount to payback lost loadouts. I want to keep admin participation at a minimum but I am talking to a few to try and see what I can do to ease the burden of loadout prices on smaller gangs. No matter what happens, the winners will end up being paid, and hopefully even some of the other gangs that get close!

Q: 

Just wanted to add some suggestions for game modes in the war. Let me know what you think @Diseased/ @Sean // Fitty Bread.

1. Lets say their are 4 teams/gangs in the war. Each gang picks 1 player from their group to go out to a cqc area and fight a free for all. Rules being you are not allowed to team with others to secure a win.

2. Each gang gets a assault boat and races to an island/piece of land then they fight in a controlled area. Last team standing wins.

3. You could have a gamemode for pilots as well! Each gang picks out the best pilot from their group to see who can hotland on an specific spot (tower drop, small area in the fed, etc.) Best pilot to hotdrop/sling a certain vehicle the fastest wins?

4. One of the cartel fights should include giving both teams an ifrit and see who best operates with one spotting tangos/popping smokes. Rules are there always has to be a driver in the ifirit otherwise that team forfeits automatically. Only time the driver may leave the ifrit is if he is the last remaining on his team. 

5. This one will sound kind of silly, but there has to be a challenge on who can shit talk in side chat the best. You guys can pick judges that will not be biased towards other gangs (admins, career cops, kavala warriors, etc.) 

6. Hummingbird battle! Give each team a bench hummingbird with trg's mk20's or something that wont take out the bird instantly so the fight could last awhile. Who can shoot down who first? The world may never know.

7. Their needs to be night time battles. Only problem with this is that their needs to be an admin to set it to night to make it happen.

Just some ideas that popped in my head. Would be cool to watch with different perspectives with each fight from each gang. You should also try to add a fun game mode that includes accurate grenade throwing. 

A:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 I am down for actual good custom game modes, but only for the first round. This way as it progresses it is more about actual gang activity. I've started work on some nice ideas, and while I don't particularly like the second idea I have a list I'm making to strawpoll after the ladder comes out (Should be 2/20) to see what game-modes people would like to see. 

7, Definitely down. I can try and get the sponsor to change some fights to night based on randomization!

All jokes aside, looks like a lot of fun, good luck with all these people giving you shit, I think it will be a pretty good event even though I will probably not be there to fight in it, I'll be sure to tune into the stream. (Can you put a link to the Main Stream in the post?)

A: I'll put the link to the main stream in the post and probably make a new thread for it as well, will most likely upload the highlights too.

The ladder! Will be double elimination, each game consisting of a BO1 until Semi-Finals, where it is a BO3. I will be messaging leaders of gangs to find the time each gang can fight.

Basically, but we also want the newer gangs to get their foot into cartels w/o having to lose any vehicles or anything. This is suppose to be fun.

I see you guys want more incentive to fight cartels, but honestly the event seems really discouraging to sign up because there is no admin hosting the event. I don't want to pay for my loadout if it's gonna be competition based.

Me and Padrinos were talking about an admin hosted Gang Wars, so I'll stick with that for now.

In a 10v10 with no respawns, it shouldn't be too hard to get most of the people defibbed. Say its down to 7v4, the winning team should be able to wipe the other team out and get you up in a matter of 5 minutes before you're automatically respawned. Although you do have a fair point, if its a slow paced fight especially, there is a chance that at least 1-2 people will be forced to respawn or executed.

I got Lagrange to sponsor loadouts, meaning at the end all loadouts will be compensated for (I will be there while each gang is fighting to take notes and after will contact each gang to see who lost what loadouts) and I am also trying to get custom loadout boxes. I still would like to keep it mostly non-admin related, but this will help the smaller gangs that have already shown interest!

Why does everything have to come down to the pennies man? Whatever happened to fighting with your friends and competing? Or having Honor for being the best gang or happened to have been the best gang during the duration of the tournament? Also winning money feels alot better then having money you made from probably cop anyways. Plus all those loadouts basically get replaced if you win which means you had all that fun for free. 

If someone doesn't agree with this then they probably dont like cartels and this isn't there kind of event and they should go talk to Smirnoff for  a more suitable one.

Cherry picking a post. Most established players/gangs are rich and don't give a fuck about the money and are down to have a fight. But the whole money thing was referring to this post.

Why would newer players/gangs participate in an event that would probably end up in nothing but gear/money lost. A good incentive is needed to get newer players/gangs to sign up. Requiring people pay up front for a chance to win will just lower the amount of people to sign up. But it seems like they have lagrange hooking it up now, so this is all pretty much irrelevant.

Loadouts are already free! If Buckwalter is unavailable to spawn loadout-crates at fights, I can either dish out money for loadouts or LaGrange has agreed to compensate players for lost gear!
