So much nonsense going on in this topic.

That right there is a list of countries high to low with at least 25 players from each of them. Of course this is from years ago, but it means Asylum has always been a diverse server. For whatever reason, people from those countries literately chose to play on Asylum - and they've helped in so many ways: increasing server population, making donations, engaging with others, creating fun/funny moments. My best friend lives across the Atlantic and is one of the most authentic and fun guy I've met here.

You all know Asylum's server sits in Canada, right? So region locking it would mean keeping US players out. Sure, make it North American then. What would happen to all the other players from Europe or Latin America? Server will be a goddamn desert during certain times? Okay, reduce the restriction. Would we manually allow other counties as we please? So fucking bigoted.

Now, how about the 'all players should speak English' part? As soon as they join, do we make them upload a certificate? Do we make them go through a listening/speaking/reading English exam? Should they take the damn TOEFL? Another ridiculous idea.

A ping/desync restriction might be a more reasonable suggestion, but that's probably in place already. Like @King has said, if they didn't initiate properly, just report them and move on, they'll have to learn the basics if they wanna keep on playing here. Sounds like the best approach.

ive had it happen where the scroll wheel becomes completely disabled, then you just have to press the delete button on your keyboard and it usually fixes. Pretty sure thats what Mando did to fix the issue

Weird. So if he used the spacebar to access the ATM he would probably have been able to as well. Thanks for letting me know! 🙂

  3. If you could make a video trying to access the ATM that would be best. Are you sure you're not missing the correct angle? Can you interact with other things on the server and on Arma 3 just fine? Try switching to first person by pressing Enter on the numpad and try aiming at it again.

If it doesn't work, try resetting you Arma 3 settings. Go to your documents and delete both "Arma 3" and/or "Arma 3 - Profiles" folders. Backup those folders first in case you need your old settings for w/e reason.

  4. First off, run the PSU paperclip test. It's easy and should tell if your new PSU is actually functional (in most cases at least): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acr6u9oXOv4

If you figure it's working fine and and all cables are plugged correctly, and considering your tower won't even boot for a couple of seconds, I think it's safe to assume your mobo is indeed the new issue here. It has probably fried along with the PSU.

Just to make sure, you can try try unplugging your video card and using your mobo's integrated VGA and then cleaning up your memory sticks and/or alternating them as you try turning your PC on. But I honestly don't think those are the issue.

  5. Everyone is talking about Stratis and it reminded me of a video that dates back to Feb 2015, 5 years ago. I was still on my very noob days but I can't forget how fun that time was.

It ain't much and the recording ain't the best but it shows a bunch of noobs like me deciding to gather and attack Stratis' HQ. The whole thing is a big nostalgia but I set the video to 7:40 to when we get close to raiding it:

  6. Opening a new map can be a little time-consuming. On the other hand, what are we most concerned about opening a new server? I think:

    1. Player base will drop down as time passes and people can start leaving their houses again
    2. Players will possibly lose their houses and investments if server is later shutdown

Re-opening Stratis can be a little time-consuming, but I think we can counter some disadvantages. For example, if player base drops, that shouldn't be a huge problem since Stratis is at least 13x smaller than Altis. You would still find decent amount of fights/action per area.

It also feels hell good to have something different than Altis. In my noob days, damn, I used to have lots of fun on Stratis. Lots of good memories.

dont say this, mitch will call you a retard

If someone is on the server while it's getting DDoSed and then starts getting "Client not responding", I can see a direct correlation. Maybe client/server connection got compromised for a reason that I can't explain. But if server gets stable, client resets connection/IP and still gets "Client not responding", I don't think DDoS has any influence here.

Anyway, I'm not an expert, that's pure guessing.
