    Without derailing this thread more, LTs have absolutely been punished in multiple ways as zdeat has mentioned, over many years. It happens every now and then. No you won’t get names. That’s public shaming. It’s not meant to be a “HEY GUYS, THIS LT FUCKED UP!!!! LOL”. It’s “internal” affairs for a reason  

    Other APD staff can see when an LT gets slapped with something beyond a talk via their app (points, etc). That’s embarrassing enough of the time to not get them to do shit again since their peers take not of it. 

    I said name literally one, could of been a retired LT that hasn't been on the server in 5 years for all I cared. But yea the literally verbal warning thing is exactly what I was getting at. And when I said consequences to an LT due to public shaming I meant when a civilian posts it on the forums because from the perspective of a civ IA reports are useless, especially if it's a verbal warning or whatever.

     

    But rest assured this post wasn't supposed to be about the dick sucking cycle that is the APD, it was about the developers coding actual restrictions to prevent the need for the whole useless APD policy bullshit.

    I do not want drones to be removed, I am all for new content. I just want the amount of drones capped. Currently by policy every SGT and LT can have an active drone at the same time. How many SGTs and LTs are there, let me answer for you: a fucking lot.

     

    And I'm sure the powers that be who read this thread are going to see oh wow this idea is getting a lot of hate, everyone against it is the faction who is going to be upset if they lose their big advantage.

     

    key takeaway: the police does not need satellite imaging everywhere all the time.

    Cap the drones at 2 on the map at any one time, I've yet to have anyone try to argue with this specific thing. It's almost like they know having eyes in the sky 24/7 everywhere they go is a crazy advantage. And yes I said "they" because everyone who has tried arguing this cops who'd be hurt if they couldn't have 24/7 satellite imaging.

    in 10 years I dont think ive ever seen an LT ever get a punishment from a Captain, the closest you get is when someone publicly posts what they did on the forums and they get publicly shamed by everyone except the people that matters. these LTs been sucking their captains dick for years to get where they are, captains are going to remember that when someone reports them. and yea drones are totally fair, the other day there were 2 copter drones, a small drone, and a little drone car thing all in athira at the same time. this isn't ukraine, cap the drones.

    and if drones are capped obviously it'd be first come first serve.

    IE: You go to pull out a drone then either

    • A: There's less than 2 drones currently active so you're able to pull out your drone (which should have a lifespan of 10 minutes)

    or

    • B: There's 2 drones currently active so you have to wait (at most 10 minutes since there should be a 25 minute break for the drone to charge) to pull your drone.

    Maybe rub a couple brain cells together holy fuck. Policy doesn’t mean anything. 80% of cops shadow search vehicles without probable cause. And abusing drones is even easier than that to get away with because for a civ there’s no way to see who’s drone it even is.

    literally a pic of 2 copter drones at a redzone. (you don't have to have the drone within the red circle if you're high enough)

    copter drones sitting a kilometer away isn't getting shot down by a p07, couldnt even shotgun it at that distance.

    • Limit the amount of drones that can be pulled at a time.
      • Currently there's a seemingly endless amount of drones fucking everywhere. Sometimes multiple drones hovering over a single city or area.
      • I think 2 drones on the entire map at one time should be the limit.
    • Add a time limit on a drone.
      • It's kind of ridiculous when they leave not just one drone but two sitting a kilometer above an illegal area and they can sit there forever.
      • Add a timer for the life of a drone, IE: after 10 minutes of use the drone has to charge for 25 minutes
    • Increase the price of drones.
      • Idk what they cost now but it's not enough if they're being pulled all the fucking time like this.
