    Since I've seen Viet Cong shat on by a couple inactive members who barely played, putting it on their previous gangs in applications as if they'd been a part of us, I just wanted to add this as well:  Viet Cong was a gang for a special kind of person, we had great times and I'll actually have stories from that gang to tell my buddies for years, it sucks our fuse reached it's end.  Even though the gang was sacrificed by one selfish person to save themselves, I hope you guys keep raising hell and having fun.

    If you're kidnapped you're going to say or do whatever you can to get yourself out of that situation, or get to safety. It's the responsibility of the civilian to take the risk if they wish to. That's part of what makes those situations interesting. If you have a policy in place where cops are always supposed to do x, y and z while kidnapped, interactions will get stale real quick.
    The problem with kidnapping cops is that the civilian, almost always, wants the gear from the cop. That's the only goal. They don't kidnap the cop for role play, let's get that straight. Would I like to see cops role play in kidnapping situations? Definitely. That's why we have policies in place against cops flat-out refusing to role play.
     
    We need to get something straight here. There are two different sets of "rules." Server rules, and APD policy.
    The server rules state that no matter what, if you are restrained for more than 10 minutes, you can log out safely without the risk of receiving a ban for combat logging.
    If a civilian is attempting to role play to some reasonable extent, however, and the cop sits there silent for 10 minutes and logs out, this is failure to role play and can result in disciplinary action against the officer. This must be reported to internal affairs.
     
    APD officers are not currently forced to drop their gear if they do not wish to, and there are no plans to force officers to drop their gear if they do not wish to. I would, however, like to see some sort of game mechanic that allows civilians to take police gear from a kidnapped officer if they wish to at some point.
    I never want to see a situation where officers are forced to, piece by piece, remove their own gear at their own will. It would have to be against the officer's will in some form or fashion.
     
    APD officers are expected to follow the policies in the guidebook, yes. If you find that there are officers not following policies in the guidebook, feel free to report them to internal affairs.
     
    If the Owners decide they want to give cops rangefingers as part of their default loadout, that is their decision to make.

    This is precisely the freedom we give our officers, and the choice they're allowed to make while kidnapped.
     
     
    All said and done, kidnapping officers has always been a rather touchy subject. APD officers have never been required to, and will not be required to drop their gear willingly.
    The idea of a way for civilians to take an officer's gear against his or her will is an idea that I do personally like.

    Make it a change to apex predator or add it to the rebel infamy tree. Possibly add the option to the skinning knife to cut off the gear these officers claim is (sewn into their skin)

    I would like to see an enforcement on this policy to encourage roleplay from cops when kidnapped/upset.
    I know this is gonna be controversial, but why can cops flat out lie when theyre kidnapped. Every kidnapping situation goes something like " ill let you go if you pardon me/drop gear/prisoner exchange" and the cops says sure then downs the kidnapper and waits in the house for 30 min. I would love to see more RP when cops are kidnapped, its part of the game. You get to send civs to jail for 45 min, they get to kidnap you for 10, at least make it interesting.

    There should be a change on medic cops for sure. Instead of it being 75 % faster bloodbag change it to 50 % for example. Don't need to be a major change. But the no cooldown defib has to go. If people don't understand why they are clueless simple as that.
    The civ medic talents is pretty much where they should be at this point. Not op or bad. They are pretty much the best we could hope for as a civ tbh.
    Don't pretend the civs have not been nerfed over the years.
