    Simply put, the data showed that players weren't leaving Kavala, which meant they weren't experiencing about 90% of the asylum's content. Many players would log into Kavala, play intensely for a week or two, and then quit. They rarely joined gangs or formed their own groups, and there was little to no participation in AFD/APD, which are essentially starter gangs.
    However, when players moved to Athira, they became more engaged with the content. There was a noticeable decrease in VDM/RDM incidents in Kavala, and more players started applying to join the APD/AFD since they were exposed to these factions (APD doesn't exist in Kavala).
    While RDM/VDM reports in Athira did increase somewhat, it wasn't as significant as the drop in reports from Kavala. New players tended to stick around longer, often starting in Athira and then moving to slower-paced cities like Sofia or Pyrgos. In contrast, players who started in Kavala often struggled to adapt or simply didn't move away from the city, except for those who spawned in Kavala a couple of times before opting for a Sofia start.
    Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the current reports, so I can't provide up-to-date numbers on RDM/VDM. I just have access to the ban list and not the repots which doesn't paint me a full picture. With an Athira start, retention would drop again after about a month, likely due to the limited availability of housing. Additionally, some players would attempt content like the Purification Factory prematurely, leading to frustrations and rage quits.
    Athira offered more activities for new players, such as safe options like Quarry, both oil runs, lumber mills, alcohol, and hunting. Its central location also made it easier for players to move to cities like Pyrgos once they had enough money for housing. In Pyrgos, many players would engage in sea turtles as it was a safer way to make money.
    The lack of APD interaction in Kavala was also a significant factor. Many players are drawn to servers for the cop vs. robber dynamic and the ability to roleplay with the police. However, in Kavala, officers were rarely seen, if ever. Bounties were usually handled by bounty hunters rather than cops engaging in roleplay.
    While I could provide more statistics, the poll already indicates that players generally prefer a Kavala start despite the data I've collected. It's worth noting that players who find a group to play with, whether it's a gang or the APD/AFD, tend to stick around longer and become long-term players, which is ultimately what we want.
    In essence, my theory was that a single player who stayed for months was more valuable than ten players who logged in briefly to cause chaos in Kavala.

    I 100% agree Athira is too small. But in a sense its kind of good as it forced players to spread out and seek out citys like Pyrgos/Sofia. New players don't fly helicopters. So a drive from Athira to Pyrgos in a potato hatch is much more likely than a Kavala to Athira in a potato hatch.

    Seasonal Santa Event: Santa flies around the map but the government of Altis doesn't seem too understand he is only here to bring presents, therefor he gets shot down out of the sky resulting in a crash location with valuable loot for players to grab. Christmas trees and presents: Christmas trees in every major city. The christmas tree has presents underneath. You can unpack one every day until the tree is gone. (starts at 14 december) Gas Mart Robberies Two Russian drug-lords have moved to Altis to aid in the sale of sanctioned Russian crude. Ivan and Hugo have opened “legitimate” Gas Marts on the island to help launder their ill-gotten gains. Go to the gas marts and use a diamond tip drill to open the door to the back room! After 10 minutes the door will open and you will have access to Ivan & Hugos illegal loot. 3+ APD officers required to be online in order to start these robberies.
    * These do count as federal events, you cannot start one while another fed event is active. You can also buy gas here while we wouldn’t advise doing so during an active event. Gathering Trucks Ivan and Hugo have brought with them Russian technology for extracting valuables from
    the earth: Tempest Transport Vehicle augmented gathering at quarries, increases storage, and gather speed significantly Tempest Fuel Truck Vehicle augmented gathering to be used at the two Goldpan/excavation sites by Kavala and Sofia, turn this puppy on and watch it suck water into the tank and filter out those valuable antiquities.     You can now further process Iron and Copper ingots into rolled iron and rolled
    copper. These heavy rolls of metal are highly sought after for marine
    construction, process them at the Metals Refinery in Kavala and Sofia, and sell
    them at the commodities trader.
     
    Antiquities Forge (Illegal)
    You can now break down gold doubloons and silver pieces at the Antiquities
    Forge. Since you are melting artifacts the APD is highly incentivized to protect
    Altisian history, rolled silver and rolled gold are illegal.

    The container will de-spawn after 20 minutes, go gather while you can!

    Most of the Devs have been quite busy as of late. Lots of things have happened in the background such as migrating everything to a new server. Our infrastructure has greatly improved. You may notice some unlisted changes as we continue to tweak them (Ping kicks).

    House Tax To minimize players holding onto houses without actually using them, we will be implementing a new tax system for houses. This system is intended to hold individuals more accountable that only log in to maintain possession of their houses, while having as minimal impact as possible on our active players. If you are finding it difficult to maintain your houses, it is recommended that you decrease the number of houses you own. Houses will still be removed after 30 Days of 0 activity regardless of tax payment (Unchanged) House Tax Scheme: After 10 days since your last house tax payment: You are able to pay the house tax. You can view and pay house tax using your phone -> Housing app. Day 31: House becomes overdue, you cannot use doors and inventory. Day 33: An extra 20% is charged per house.     Please create a icon on the map for people that have keys to a house or shed some of us don’t have a IQ of 180 to know the exact location of houses or sheds that belong to friends and we have keys to.. Not sure why this isn’t a feature on asylum yet but please add it

    The passive mode for new players is great, would say it would be fine for it to be even longer seeing as it will temp disable when they have a bounty. No more than max 10 hours though, maybe 5 depending on how this trial goes?

    PCP drug The production of PCP has now made its way to the island of Altis. The availability of the drug is contributing to its growing popularity and causing alarm among the government and the APD. The dangers of PCP are well-known, and the Altis government is taking steps to address this issue by increasing surveillance and cracking down on illegal production and distribution. The goal is to reduce the harm caused by this dangerous drug and protect the people of Altis. PCP Lab: To make 1 PCP Powder, you need 1 Henbane plant (Illegal) and 1 Hydrogen. Process again into PCP Pills to sell. Purification Factory: You can process PCP Pills into PCP Pill Sheets for more money. PCP Pill sell price changed from $525 to $950. Possession of PCP charge changed from $3.500 to $9.000. Rebel Infamy The rebels have been working for years to achieve their goals and their hard work has finally paid off. They now have access to the Infamy Talent Tree, which provides them with a vast array of new skills to use in their fight against their enemies. Rebels now have access to the Infamy Talent Tree. There are 4 classes: Specialist, Medic, Drug Lord and Arms Dealer. Must have a rebel license to learn and earn Infamy. You can earn infamy by doing various activities like: capturing cartels, banks, processing, etc. When earning Infamy, it will not always show up in chat for small things. Cartel Event A capture point will spawn at one of the main cartel locations for 30 minutes every restart (40+ players required). You get 1 point every 20 seconds while holding the capture point. The gang with the most points wins. The winning gang gets money added to their bank and an airdrop with valuable loot will spawn above the location.     Changed the reward calculation for Cartel Events. (Still, try to see it more as getting good fights instead of a money maker.) You can now gather Henbane using Tempest Device/Tractor. You can only operate one gathering device at the same time. RPK-12 (Lush) not being able to be stored in houses. More infamy points added to other things. Hotfix #2
    The Mental Asylum church will now open its doors. Turf and jewelry infamy adjustments. A door not working on west OG. Fixed refueling station in Athira HQ that was flying around. Evidence lockup is now limited in payout. As much as we believe in not limiting this, recent events resulted in having a payout of 3k+ MK-1's. Something like this is as expected just to game breaking to economy and we believe that atleast something has to be taken. We decided that there will be hard caps on all items which stay in a reasonable amount for how hard the evidence is. If we notice this is under balanced we will take action to increase caps or decrease caps where necessary. Hotfix #3

    This idea was DH | Jeff Stall's and it's an awesome idea to create a new dimension to a dying server. "Alliance Agreements" between gangs where allied gangs within 500 meters see the light-hex we usually see when one of our own gang members is zip-tied by bounty hunters. To avoid frivolous alliances, a fee of $50K each gang involved could be paid to the govt. Allied gang members would see the light hex when within 500 meters of each other but normal initiation requirements would remain unchanged as would "sixth-sense" talent (dead allied members not seen on map even with sixth-sense talent).
    Best idea I've heard since someone suggested altering Lumber Mills to Textile Mills for all clothing crafting. Does anyone even go to Lumber Mill anymore since Admins destroyed the price of hardwood sales?
