    Hey all,

    I know it's been a bit since we've had an update get released. We do need to still get the January rewards out to you guys. For those of you who are unaware these are the January rewards we have yet to release:
    Just to give insight on the progress, SWAT is essentially done, just needs a run through, due to how many players are required and existing exploit prevention and such, I want to make sure we utilize the correct player counts to test it. Which means getting a group of us to do it at once basically. The titles are also essentially done. We just need to get the titles to show above the players head. Which is basically a line of code or two, we've been debating placement and how to show them for the best aesthetic appeasement. Vehicle customization does still need some work though, as it was essentially the most labor intensive. This is also why we made our February goals lighter essentially. Which some of that is already done as well. Henry just wrapped up the Tractor Farming.

    I just wanted to share this with you guys as I know we've been a bit behind this month. I've personally been quite busy with finding a new place to call home with my girlfriend. We did a ton of house/condo/duplex/apartment searching and finally just this Wednesday signed a lease for a place. I've also had some job related interviews and opportunities I've been working towards that have taken away time. I've also had 3 different people around me all have some sort of vehicle trouble, some more extensive than others... As far as our other developers, I do know one of them may be a bit "burnt" out if you will. As this game does take a toll on us to work on and we all have lives and stuff to do as well. We've also had a decent amount of time getting spent on some admin related duties if you will. Dealing with patching up exploits and determining where exploited money and such went.
    Long story short, we've been busy. The new content for the goals will probably be all released in a giant lump I would say ideally the end of next week or the following week.

    TL;DR: We have lives and have been busy. We are still working on stuff just at a slower rate of pace due to life stuff and being a tad burnt out with coding. The content update(s) should happen next week or the week after.

    Talent Points: Due to the adjustment we did for talent points, you will need to re-enter your talent points. Sorry for the inconvenience.
    Donation Goal: We've added in 1 of the donation goal items in early simply due to how quickly you all helped us reach the goal. As a thank you, we've added in the lottery system immediately. The load-out system will come in early January.

    Server 2: Server 2 will be getting shutdown at the end of the month. Sometime tonight we will re-open the server to allow any last minute selling off of items/houses/etc to be conducted for the remainder of the month. We will not compensate anything that is left past end of month. We feel having over a week to get your stuff moved/sold, will be satisfactory. Compensation is up to Mitch at the end of the day, this could be changed. At this time due to population constraints, we're just going to be focusing on the singular server. As this will also help reduce our month to month operating costs.
    Added:
    Blackjack at the casino. DP missions for medics. Start the mission at any npc that civilians can, it will be listed as "Organ Transplant" Oil barrel production. Works the same way as it did in V1. Prestige tree for cops. Prestige HAS BEEN RESET. This was a decision made by the Captains. Functionality for warrant, medic and undercover has returned. The prestige talents are largely unchanged, with the exception of the prestige medic talents to compromise for the medic faction. Lottery System Available at any gas station near you. Funds are automatically removed from your bank account. Funds are automatically added to your bank account. Logging in near rebel will display a warning for those already there. Health Regeneration If >= 75 HP. Will regenerate at about 1pt every ~3 seconds. Food & Water must also be over 75/ea. Automatic system to recalculate physical house weights. Changed/Tweaked:
    More cop slots have been added. The max allowed cops at any one time can be 18 (1 sgt in the sgt+ slot & rest in other slots) Added 3/3/3 Undercover/Medic/Warrant slots SGT+ Slot is added for SGT+ only, it can bypass the cop caps. .50cal Offroads can now be slingloaded with a gunner in them. A bounty hunter license can now be purchased at Skiptracer without the Master Bounty Hunter talent. However, the shops still require said talent. The evidence locker time has been increased from the non-existent prior 30 minute to 50 minute cooldown. Animation handling to hopefully be more reliable/better. Brightness of cop/medic lights was slightly turned down. Handling of uniform/backpack textures to hopefully be more reliable. E.g textures shouldn't change when revived. New players will now start with 2 talents instead of 0. The Evidence Lockup Dome is now godmode. The talents mentioned in this post were removed/changed. The tooltip for earplug volume on the phone was corrected to display the right text. When killed or downed, your rank/group tag will now also be displayed in the chat. Medics now keep their Y-inventory on death. Only civilians now show up on the wanted list. FAKs have had their cost slightly increased Fixed:
    "Cop enter as gunner" action not working. Medics now start with GPS/Compass/Watch/Map "Pullout unconscious" action being unreliable. Civilians can no longer switch from passenger seat to driver seat in medic vehicles. A way to vault if restrained. A money reset happening when someone in your medic group revives someone while you are loading in. An exploit allowing for infinite turtle meat from one turtle. An exploit allowing for unlimited vehicle weights. APD Jeep being unpurchasable. A script error related to the distance between you and your bounty when tracking him. Bounties not being removed from bounty hunters if the bounty gets pardoned. Cop SUV Supervisor skin being unpurchaseable for those of sufficient rank. House item seizing with the inventory menu not working. House item seizing with the scroll wheel option not working. Incorrect tracking of cop lethals. Magazine Repack related exploit. Medics not being able to see their tracked vehicles on the map. Surrendering (hands up animation) causing a substantial frame drop over time. Tempest Devices being unusable if attempting to use its gather function while the engine is on. The black RCO being unpurchasable for cops. The descriptions for some civilian slots were changed to match the correct slot number. Kavala airshop not having a helicopter shop. Garages not being able to be listed on the house market. Not being given a bounty for starting the Evidence Locker robbery. Lack of cooldown for the Evidence Locker robbery. Drug runner money and stolen bank money being unseizeable for cops. Removed
    Toasty Sandwich Billboard.  
    Hotfix 1:
    Fixed medics/cops showing up on the wanted list (initial change didn't go through apparently) Fixed prestige not being earned properly. Fixed prestige not syncing when earned. Fixed inability to craft 7.62 weapons (rebel license is now needed). Priority of scroll wheel options for "Cop Enter as Driver" etc was changed back. Added lottery option to the Sofia gas station. Reduced chance to get a notification regarding the lottery. Fixed bounty hunter group markers not showing on initial bounty request. Fixed inability to stop evidence locker robbery. Fixed lotto not giving you your money when winning. Fixed inability to talk etc while performing an action.

    Effective Immediately
    Police Checkpoints
    A minimum of one officer per gate is required to operate a checkpoint. Meaning, one Constable and a Cadet may start a checkpoint with two gates.
    If you are manning a checkpoint there must be a minimum of 5 officers on duty. 
    Checkpoint requirements: 
    Minimum of two or more officers to start a checkpoint. (One at each gate) At least 5 officers on duty before you start the checkpoint. Must have a marked vehicle at each gate with the emergency lights on. Evidence Lockup
    APD officers who search Evidence Lockup HEMTTs that have no registered owner may charge the driver for all of it's illegal contraband. Anyone found driving the HEMTT will take full responsibility for it's components.

    Hello all,
    I'd like to start this by thanking the people who steered asylum before me. Between @Clint Beastwood, @Jesse, and @BaDaBiNg_10-8 they truly made this dream possible for all of us. It was not long ago that all of us were worried about the existence of Asylum. Now I believe that we are doing great, with room left to improve. 
     
    Since I was approached about this opportunity and accepted their offer. I have been thinking of what I wanted to say. I was only able to come to a simple conclusion. Talk is cheap, don't talk about it, be about it. 
    In early 2015, I never would have imagined that I would be anywhere close to the spot that I am today. At heart I am still a troll from Kavala. Long live the resistance...!
    Moving on-
    With a server that is performing this well. I think we are all ready for some much needed content additions. I have been talking with the development team about plans to bring just that. I am confident that these plans will be something that everyone enjoys in once aspect or another. Some of my initial plans include.
    Swat Player Owned Shops Marshal law Civ Drug houses (think drug dealer) Money making seasons (Increased sell price for X product. Legal and illegal) A return of player to player sales of goods and weapons Stats page  Actual reasons to war, war kills, war points etc.   It should be noted that these cannot be done at the snap of a finger and will require some hard work and dedication by our development staff. But I wanted you to be aware of these ideas. It is my hope that you guys can provide feedback and ideas of your own. 

    Now the tough topic. Donations and server sustainability.
    With me being a fresh new owner. I am starting from scratch. At the end of the month, there will be server cost that will need to be covered. In the coming days, I intend to rework some of the rewards for donating to ensure we are able to meet these needs. I also believe that a way to show my appreciation for your continued support, I want to run a sale on keys. More information will come on that when the sale is started. If you do choose to make a donation, it will directly benefit our future here. I will get a goal bar implemented so that everyone can be informed on our status with meeting the needed goal. I believe information is power.  
     
    I am truly looking forward to the future and the possibilities it brings. I am grateful for the support and understanding that you guys give me. I'm sure i'll bump my head a time or two. But just know, i am here to ensure you get the gaming experience that you deserve.

    Gamers, Friends, and most of all supporters,
     
    I cannot thank everyone enough for the support you have given to me and my team over the past year.  It has been a hell of a ride as a player, an admin and most of all an owner. First, none of this would be a success without the team of Administrators, Developers and Contributors.  Hats off to them for their efforts in making my vision possible.  I took a gamble early on - and you helped me deliver.  Thank you guys.
    I set out a goal for Asylum when @BaDaBiNg_10-8 @Jesseand I took over last year.  My goals were simple, bring back the players, bring back stability and bring back the fun.  I can safely say all three have been accomplished.  It was not as easy as it sounds, we lost a lot of good people, we had a lot of long nights and we made some mistakes along the way.  Our community is strong and stood by us through a lot and in the end I feel we were able to deliver a better Asylum experience.  In the future, at least until Arma 3 dies, I hope we can keep delivering that fun.  
    Now currently  #1 in Arma 3 Life Servers and #3 ranked Arma server in the world.  I think this point in time is a perfect time for me walk away from running the day to day operations on Asylum and let someone who can dedicate more time and focus on whats needed ahead. 
    @Mitch (IFRIT) will be taking over starting tomorrow December 1st.  I will be helping during the transition throughout December, but, all decisions will be his from here on out.

    Afternoon all,

    I am retiring from Arma 3 Development, with that comes my departure from Asylum. I will be giving up the Owner role with no one taking my spot. Sole ownership will fall back on Clint now. Asylum has been an adventure and will continue to do fine under the current developers. Azeh has turned in to quite a strong developer and has blossomed in to a fine little flower full of Arma 3 development knowledge. I will be lingering around time to time to help with issues that may arise with development and still offering my help. I just don't have the time anymore and this adventure has been a bit different than what I anticipated. Eventually coming up sometime probably soonish, I will be training them on the general maintenance stuff I did here and there to ensure smooth operations, so until that happens I'll be here.

    Random fact: In the year I was doing development here I never once logged in to the servers for more than 15 minutes at a time. 🙃
