    Despite the drama currently going on around this project that Luke and I were dedicating weeks to, I figured the public should at least be able to see what could have been. Like the map or not, it would have brought a refresh to the server and changed the way things are done. 
    What we currently have was MAYBE half finished, there was a good amount of small things that still needed to be done such as legal areas, some drug zones and some other miscellaneous areas.

    One of the crazy cool things we did about this prison was the ability to escape jail without there being a prison break going on. The exact balance behind this could have been if you escaped jail this way, you would be tracked on the map and Police / BHers would be able to see you at all times. Think of how Star Citizen did their prison system. 
    To escape jail, you would have to go through a cave system that was built and placed on one of the cliffs of the island. You would have to traverse a 7-10 minute trail that you could possibly die in and have to reset. Think "parkour" style, there were a few parts that if you didnt know exactly where you were going you would drown because you didnt get there fast enough. We were going to make a post in the patch notes if this dropped saying something like: "There is a new way to escape prison, go and find it." and make the community figure it out on their own.

    APD ISLAND COMMUNICATION TOWER:
    The idea behind this was to have some sort of air defense around the island. Disabling this air defense would allow you to start the Evidence Lockup, as well as fly out or into the other federal events around the island. TLDR: If you want to pick your buddies up from prison in a helicopter, disable the coms tower. The only way to get over to the island would be through a bridge, posted below.

    There was an idea that we would have all of the cartels be able to be captured at all times, however gangs would only be able to capture maybe THREE or FOUR at a time, and each cartel would give you different benefits.

    THE CURRENT MAP:

    We would have used the top left island Moray as a tutorial island for new players to be able to make some starting cash and get a good grip to start the server. The idea was that players that did the tutorial would be able to make around 100-150k, a few vehicles, learn how to do things like crafting vehicles / aircraft, learn how to make and process drugs, along with the other day to day normalcies of rebel life. 
    Its sad that this project never saw the light of day, we worked long hours into the mornings to try and make this project look and flow well for the Asylum brand. It is unfortunate that the owners of the server did us dirty how they did. If youd like to see a specific area, let me know and I can either get a screenshot or video of the area.

    Flyrobert1000 is the bomb. The dude always RPs with us, he's on all the time, he comes back even though he's out manned and out gunned. He doesn't stop until he takes us down. I never heard him speak poorly of anyone and he's always in char. This man deserves a promotion! More cops like him!

    Good Evening Asylum Community,
     
    A few weeks ago we had a community meeting to discuss the best way forward and what we can do to increase the population on our server.  We talked through some ideas and then pushed out a community poll to get feedback on them.
     
    After we closed the poll we took some time to look at the data, and to look at a proof of concept for a Malden Life Asylum community.  @Iukeand @zdeat did a great job in showing us what an Asylum Malden life could look like, and we’ve been digesting that for a few days whilst getting feedback from a number of people within the community.
     
    The poll data was inconclusive, with the neutral and negative portions outweighing the positive.  After reviewing this more closely, weighing other feedback, pros and cons, we have decided that Malden is simply too small, and the terrain does not conform to a life format properly.
     
    While we are not moving forward with a map switch at this time, we have seen how a smaller map has the opportunity to increase interaction and the possibilities for additional content on the server, and we have confidence that we will be able to replicate these same features on a reworked version of Altis.
    Taking place on a smaller more streamlined version of Altis , this revamped framework will take into account the data gathered from our poll, focusing on heavier RP opportunities, while also fostering the same combat that has made Asylum popular over the years.  This will also be a good opportunity to see how we can continue to edit the Asylum idea in different ways, and potentially provide a roadmap for how we would move to another game in the future, with the release of Arma 4, or other similar titles.
     
    Features to be expected:
    Service based economy missions (Assasination, vehicle delivery, crate pickup)
    Beefed up optional tutorial system with a green zone and increased visibility to the server.

    Karaoke
    Boat drug running missions
    Gang house drug shipments 
    Admin warning system 
    Prestige store with access to elite weapons, attachments, vehicles, and items.
    Border patrol outposts
    City Hall raids
    Reworked Casino,Mental Asylum, Jewelry Emporium maps
    Revitalized urban areas and new spawn points
    Smokes
    More random events including infection containment, and scavenging
    Streamlined map and interactions
    Fixing of all known bugs as of release
     
    These are lofty goals, but with the increasing size of our design team, and the welcoming back of @Gen. Henry Arnold to the development team, our goal is to have a small bug fix and initialization patch out this weekend, and then a larger release mid-late April.  As we work through this transparency will be key, and leaks will consistently be posted in our discord.
     
    **Until this release date we will be evaluating the limited opening of S2 domination on the Utes map, an exact schedule will be released once we have decided on a proper balance with our testing server needs.

    You want $$ right...Who invests in something with out expecting a roi?

    Its a number game and you arn't getting the numbers...Your selling a product.."ASYLUM LIFE"..arma 3 is just a platform for that...You need to find new location to sell yoru product to be profitable. The block we used to be on (ARMA 3) is sadly over run by competition and we have more then "3 strikes and your out" at attempts to revives this.
    You need to move to Amazon...aka FIVEM./Reforge. Who cares about anyones feeling here. You want the $. Go where the $ is.

    Sojobo already proved the ASYLUM model of gaming works! We don't have to model after them stick to ASYLUM Life and if need be we adapt...sure some things will need to change but real talk...the RP here is FUCKING BAD!

    95% of the cops "RP" is just following guide book protocals. Probably closer to 98% if were being honest.

    Its lite RP at best.

    Point is if your selling a product you want to be available to as many people as possible. FIVEM is already proven to have amazing numbers in RP servers and Reforge is coming around.

    Here is the HONESTY PART.... Fuck 100% of anyone here who is "OH BUT ITS NOT ARMA...I"LL PASS!" Sorry but your feelings don't pay the bills and isn't populating the server.

    Lets get our heads out of our asses and get on with the next chapter!

    82 days since the most recent wipe under new management with nothing to show for it in terms of a player base. The server, averaging at about 10 payers for the past couple weeks begs the question. Where are we headed?

    After the wipe patch, we got no new content for the rest of the year. Instead we get a road map that has yet to be completed.

    Here we are on February 12, 2025. 82 Days since the wipe and four updates later (2-3 of which were basically hot fixes). Three official owners who are also developers, this being one of the many things people were excited about when they came into power. Yet, what is there to show for it? A dead server.

    The absolute state of APD in 2025. Terrible display. Very sad! You hate to see it! Our police are a mess. Just give the funding to ABI. ABI are terrific people. The best law enforcement in Altis. Never anyone better.

    Coming from a historically career cop.... If you are going to allow the APD to neutralize cartels.... Limit it to one cartel. The APD should NOT be allowed to take all the fun out of rebel play. The APD is for RP as well as to give the rebels a natural enemy. Do not ruin this for the rebels by allowing the APD to neutralize multiple cartels (currently 3/4 are neutralized as I type this). I am all for the update, but don't ruin this for rebels

    Domination SRT
    SRT has returned to the island.  APD officers are able to deploy for SWAT by scrolling on the warrant NPC in APD HQs when domination is active. Officers can uncap dom points and receive scalable pay based on their stats (include the breakdowns again)B Officers are paid 2k per kill, and it costs 5k per respawn SRT officers do not count towards fed events Non-Dom SRT
    SWAT certified officers are able to deploy for SRT once a SGT+ activates the elite squad by scrolling on a warrant NPC Once activated up to 6 police officers can deploy for SRT, they are able to access elite weapons based on the above achievements (Same as dom). SRT roster is tied to population with a max of 6 80 >6 60> 5 40> 4 30> 3 20< 2 SRT officers are able to neutralize cartels by activating a raid by scrolling on the flag Once activated a 25-minute process will start, if the APD flag is still hanging on the cartel flag it will be neutralized for 30 minutes. Rebels are not able to capture the cartel during this time.  
    Rebels can prevent the APD from capturing the cartel by scrolling on the flag The proceeds from the cartel is then stored in an APD slush account stored within the SRT forward operating base. (Money is shown on the SRT marker on the map) In order to access the money the APD must successfully execute a convoy to bring the funds to the APD Athira HQ lockup, if successful they will be rewarded. (See APD Convoy) The rebels are able to raid the compound via a federal event to get the money back, rebels can also attack the convoy to loot the cash. (See SRT Base Raid) There is a 5 minute cooldown between raids and the applicable APD policy will be released to limit it further. These SRT officers are also not included in the federal event counter, unless it is relevant to the SRT forward operating base. Convoy Event
    APD officers can now start a convoy event from the SRT Fortress to launder the money from their cartel raids once there is more than 50k stored in the base. SRT officer starts convoy on the laptop at the base of the radio tower An Evidence Dept box truck will spawn with the cash inside of it Officers must drive the vehicle to Athira HQ to successfully secure the money the money will be split amongst the cops upon delivery Rebels can lockpick the truck to get the money out of it  Raid Event
    Rebels can now raid the SRT fortress to gain access to the money gained from the cartel raids Disable electric fence and AA system at the base of the AA tower (USB needed) Hack the laptop at the base of Gate 1 (USB needed) Hack the laptop at the base of the radio tower to finish the mission (USB needed) Once the radio tower has been breached SRT will no longer be able to contact APD officers for backup. A truck will spawn in with the money as banded bank notes Cops can secure the compound via the laptop under the AA tower after the radio tower has been destroyed, or before the middle gate has been breached. Passive Earnings: Once hired, the gas station generates money over time, which is deposited into a secure safe. It’s up to you to empty the safe regularly—before someone else tries to take it! Raids and Risks: Other players can raid your gas station to steal the cash you’ve earned. Keep an eye out and defend your property! Time-Based Ownership: If you’re offline for more than 10 minutes, your gas station becomes available for someone else to hire. Stay active to maximize your income! Play More, Earn More: The longer you stay in-game, the higher your return on investment.

    Exactly, I definitely am a RPer at heart so something like that would be awesome. I also would not mind it if the AFD had something like a combat medic for things like fed events or "shooter" situations. I know the Devs sure as heck don't give a rip about that idea but it would be so cool! Sadly updates don't come to the AFD and ideas are shot down like it is a sport.
