APD Crime Suppression Unit (CSU)
In an effort to increase police activity throughout the island, Officers may deploy for CSU. This two man squad will be solely dedicated to responding to 911’s and patrolling illegal areas/cities.
CSU requires 7 active officers on duty, two officers may deploy for the patrol unit into the required TS channel. This unit must operate in a pair of officers at all times.
If at any instance there are no longer 7 active officers on duty, CSU must disband and return to regular patrol.
The unit must be in marked uniforms/cars and are limited to 6.5 caliber max.
The unit’s primary objective is to respond to 911 from civilians, and patrol the island.
The unit can not use drones at any point, or use a helicopter to patrol illegal areas at any point.
The unit will be allowed to ignore federal events unless called upon by a SGT+. (Can be ordered by a SGT+ who is on TS but not in game if no SGT+ is online.)
The unit can not be staffed by the highest ranking officer on duty.
Undercover
Going forward, we’ve felt that the APD has lost its sense of identity with the amount of higher ups who have access to undercover. Going forward we will be restricting its use additionally.
Officers who are Undercover should be conducting their own tasks away from marked units. If a marked unit requests for backup, a UC may respond then should separate from marked units afterwards.
Undercover vehicles can only be used while conducting undercover situations. (Should switch to marked vehicles for Federal events/assisting marked units when possible.)
Officers who are UC may follow the server rule, red=dead as long as Use of Force is followed

No house raiding will be performed at this time
Officers may not use drones at this time
All cop ranks will follow helicopter guidelines. (No searching illegal areas without ground units)

20 30 minute Cooldown for Checking Illegal Drug Areas (Processors, Fields, Dealers)
2 1 Life rule for all illegal drug areas regardless of how many cops are online (Ex: 5 cops or less is no longer valid)
Officers killed in an Illegal zone have a 1 life rule therefore they cannot return to the fight unless revived. If all officers on scene are KIA. All responding officers in route must divert

Terrorism $15,000 - 3 or more Civilians Shooting at police inside an HQ - Due to the threat they pose, suspects may be sent straight to jail at officer discretion

Foreword:
Over the last 8+ weeks we have seen a steady and consistent decline in server population and interaction, after trying a number of factors we have decided that the best way to move forward is to completely overhaul the Asylum experience. Our team of developers has worked tirelessly to provide you this fresh opportunity, and we hope you enjoy this refreshed experience.
One of the biggest things we have focused on is the simplification of the Asylum experience, there is a number of content items that we have removed in favor of this goal. Some of them may return with a new twist in the future.
Progress:
All player progress has been reset. Donor levels, crate keys, unlocked skins (non-achievement ones), MyAsylum gold and faction ranks still remain. ALL Asylum players, including staff are now starting from square one. Special shoutout to the wealthiest Asylum members and gangs from the last 10 years. We have recently made a couple of additions to the development team. Welcome @Pizza Man and @Infamous [FULL SEND] Added:
New phone All the old wallpapers have been removed and replaced with newer ones. The current selection options are more limited, but more wallpapers can be added in the future. You can now set your own favorite apps by visiting the settings app and pressing "Select favorite apps" See screenshot below Added the Bergen backpack to clothing stores With a capacity of 112, it comes at a higher price than other backpacks Police SUVs and Police Hatchbacks now spawn with push bars and light bars Light bar example Push bar example Storage lockers are now available in all major cities Civilians are able to use these locations to store a small amount of virtual and physical items Items stored can be accessed from all other locations The storage lockers can hold up to 100 physical storage and 100 virtual storage across all locations You can now see your group members and their health status on the left side of your screen Can be toggled in the phone settings The color of their name will depend on their health. You can also see their health percentage next their name (not a part of the example screenshot below) See example below Healing within vehicles You can now use blood bags and virtual FAKs while inside a vehicle. Performing certain actions will however cancel the bloodbag or first aid kit. Most NPCs now display a name and their role above them (e.g drug dealer, general store etc) See example below Interactive Gathering We have added back the OPTION to utilize interactive gathering methods to the server. You can still gather by sitting there and scrolling, but if you want to gain some extra speed in the field, then you can gather interactively. All of the items that spawn regenerate after a certain amount of time. Weed Weed plants now spawn in the field, scroll wheel near them and harvest the plant. Heroin Poppy plants now spawn in the field, scroll wheel near them to harvest the plant. Quarries Rocks now spawn at the quarries, run over and pick them up to get their minerals. High Yield quarries give an increased yield of iron and diamonds than regular quarries. Small grey rocks give you copper Black rocks give you iron White rocks give you diamonds Excavation Some of the most popular shipwreck locations have begun to leak valuable loot. You can open these crates up to get the loot. All items have all of the objects in the loot table. Barrels have an increased likelihood of spawning gold nuggets and bars Wooden crates have an increased change of pearls and processed oil Black crates have an increased probability of all items Cocaine The cocaine pit has returned, jog your life away while listening to that ever satisfying, SLOSH SLOSH SLOSH Run in circles in the cocaine pit at the coke field to gather faster Unmarked pizza shops in the spawn towns You can now purchase a cheese, pepperoni, Hawaiian, or supreme pizza plus several other items from this shop. If you are prepared with a stolen/registered/unregistered vehicle, you can take on a pizza delivery job from the shop owner. Although if you are late to deliver the pizza, there will be consequences. Suicide vests with bigger impact have made their way into Altis. They can be purchased at rebel outposts at a higher price. Suicide vest: Same as always Bomb vest: 1.5x explosion MOAB vest: 2x explosion Being in war with someone will now display an icon next to their name If someone is red to you, an icon will now be displayed next to their name Sea turtles and oysters have found a new location near Molos, North East of Sofia In addition, a new boat shop has been established near Molos Wong's Food & Liquor has expanded their trades to Sofia When searching a player as a cop, the player's associated gang will now be displayed The amount of cops online is now displayed in your phone settings Added the "All Clear" app for the police Instead of marking illegal areas manually with the current minute after a search, police can instead use this app. The marked illegal areas will have a different color on the map (for police only) if it has been searched/marked. The app will also show a timer for the time remaining until the area can be searched again. The fields can be re-marked or completely reset, be sure to still follow APD policy. Domination Admin Event During the course of a restart on server one an admin now has the ability to activate a short domination match Fight for glory on the Altis Drug Peninsula You will have one hour to get as many points as possible Capture one/any of the three flags on the peninsula Gain 10 points every 20 seconds of holding the flags. Payment is received for any of the top 3 gangs, and/or at admin discretion based on # of players, total points, etc. Kills garner double BM during the event May the best gang win! Changed:
Starter money has been increased from $10,000 -> $25,000 The player HUD has received an overhaul All of the icons have been replaced with newer ones, and each status icon has different states depending on the value. Your stamina and carry weight will also be displayed now Cartel changes Being the owner of a cartel will now deposit money into your gang bank every 5 minutes The more cartels you own, the more money will be deposited The more players are online, the more money will be deposited Oil cartel has been relocated to an older location south of DP11 Updated progress bars Progress bars will now stack so that no action interrupts any other action's progress bar (the infamous drug runner bug). You will likely never see more than two progress bars at the same time. As part of our upcoming V3 release we are evaluating a variety of map oriented changes to refresh our cities. Our map designers @zdeat and @.Nathan have been tirelessly working to make our cities something new while holding onto the way our cities have been traditionally setup. Below there are a number of screenshots from these updated cities, we are seeking RAPID FIRE, and straight to the point feedback on these edits so when we go live (ideally sometime towards the end of the week) our peoples are happy and excited for what we have cooked up for everyone.
Athira has the most changes, including relocation of square (across the street) and addition of a theater and housing.

This is not being done to help new players, there is 0 reason to play the game when you have everything, it’s like being in creative mode. That’s the reason why in the past admins play style changes once they get unlimited money, we are doing this to make everyone even, make everyone have the same experience that made us all fall in love in the first place. Yes, the last patch left some things to be desired but this should’ve been done years ago, irrespective of any of that. The server has been in dire straits since 2021, and what we were doing wasn’t working anymore.
Fundamentally the asylum experience is what we all fell in love with, it wasn’t our scotch house, or unlimited ifrits.
its disappointing to see people look at this negatively, I get it, it sucks. But at the end of the day, we’ve got a lot of really cool stuff cooking for you guys, and I hope when we pull the trigger it can respark some of the memories we’ve all had here

Hi all,
I have noticed a lot of uncertainty with the upcoming wipe and I would like to make a post to hopefully put those uncertainties to rest. I also intend on instilling the confidence that I have in this wipe to the rest of the community. As I have mentioned in a previous post, Asylum is at a state right now where getting on and seeing a 30 pop server is something to celebrate. Our developers have been trying furiously hard to pump content into the server that would allow player to have something to do in hopes of bringing more players onto the server. The problem is you cannot pump new content into a server where most of the active players are already at "end game." From an administrative perspective I have been able to see how players typically move on the map, and most of our playerbase do not go out and leave the spawn cities. If they do, they are typically fighting cops at federal events and then right back to sitting in Athira or log off once the cops do. For a server that is based around player vs player interaction, this is not healthy as it leaves nothing to do across the rest of the map. For this reason, a wipe would be the next best step to possibly bring back these player vs player interactions and learn from the previous mistakes that caused us to get to this point in server health.
I do understand that losing years of stats, money, and houses can be frustrating for our current playerbase, but if we sit idle and do nothing, those aforementioned items mean nothing. For those who are concerned about this, you do have to realize our player count has been maxing out at 15 players some nights. We have kept pushing out content and listening to suggestions on what to add, remove, and change but content is not the current issue. I also understand that not wanting to grind is an issue. But I assure you that this wipe will make grinding a whole different and fun experience as it did with the test wipe.
Understanding this reasoning, you should be very excited and confident for this next wipe. A couple months back Asylum had done a test wipe (mentioned above) to see what a wipe would look like. We collected a significant amount of data and took in how the community had felt about the wipe. With this data, your voices, and what we experienced, we had learned A LOT which will allow us to move forward with this wipe in the most professional and organized way possible. We also saw in the wipe that the player vs player interactions that Asylum is based around were occurring allowing for an amazing wipe experience.
As I have said in a previous post, I have never seen our staff team more dialed in and connected in terms of having the SAs/CM and the developers on the same page. We have past Asylum greats throwing their hat in the ring working with our newer staff members to ensure that this is done correctly. We have people within the server staff team and outside of the server staff team working as well to give our server a face lift and a breath of fresh air. We have already announced a solid foundation for the wipe and cannot wait to get it out.
There are also many things to look forward to after the initial wipe. This wipe allows us to continue on as a community, staff team, APD staff team, and AFD staff team, and reflect on what had happened in the past and learn from this. This server has been around for years and this wipe offers us a solid base in terms of new beginnings allowing the community to grow and push forward reflecting on and learning from previous experiences.
With this I hope to continue to hear your voices in TS and read your forums posts as the staff team works diligently to get this update/patch out. I would like to also hear and read any other concerns you guys may have after reading this that could possibly be answered. All eyes within the Arma 3 community are on us. Lets make this happen.

On a real note though, its bad when we are now desperate for a 30 pop server. At this point in Asylum's life we are going to need drastic changes. Looking back on the test wipe and then looking back now you are right, Asylum has changed and has gone away from its roots. The purpose of this wipe is to go back to that. An example, when I looked on the map during the test wipe I would see players interacting all across the map. There were players in each corner doing something whether it be farming, fighting, etc. Now when I look across the map, I see a cluster of cops and civs in Athira with a few stragglers at cartels or setting up for a bank/prison. You can blame it on whoever, the matter of the fact is that there is just currently no gameplay because most of the server base is already established and all sit in one place of the map. I agree with you that there was one update that slowly led to cause us to be in this spot. But we can't go back now and its better to try to wipe and see if we can get core Asylum back rather than just trying to shove content into a 15 pop server.
Not until a week ago, I have never seen a group of SA/CMs and devs work on something so closely together and be on the same page. I am excited to see what comes out of this in hopes of seeing Asylum alive once again.

Lmao, Guys the prison was just an example of what my experience level is, not a suggestion of what might be a fit for this server. I can design anything anywhere to spec so long as the structures/items are native to Arma. Ive designed fire houses, police stations, rebel bases, gang bases, and complete freeway systems with highway signs. Also I think the police/ems entire vehicle fleet and uniform skins need to be overhauled.. This is just one peeps opinion for what its worth.

Hello all,
We understand there has been some major concerns with the current state of the server in terms of low population, QOL improvements, and so on. Despite our best efforts with tons of new content, we have decided to make some major overhaul changes within Asylum geared towards a better player experience overall, and we would like to present a brief announcement outlining just a few things of what is to come (These are not the actual Patch-Notes)
Please keep in mind we are aware that the changes we are making will not please everyone, but we feel it is necessary for the state of the server to continue and thrive.
Here is the following upcoming changes that you can expect:
Server-Wipe:
Given the state of the server and majority of others feedback our developers have been working on creating a new environment for Asylum (Some make call it Asylum v3, Asylum Reborn, call it what you want). We have taken a step back and are going back to our roots. Player progression will be wiped, your donor level and faction rank will remain untouched. What-to-expect:
We will be introducing new patches and changes more frequently at the start of the wipe introducing old/new content items. Starting out there will be four Fed events - Fed, Bank, Casino, & Prison. This is to prevent players hyper inflating the economy in the first month as seen in the previous test wipe. Talent System - Removed entirely (No more grinding for unnecessary talents). Some talents were redistributed to faction ranks, others were dispersed behind infamy, prestige, and honor. Housing Changes: 3 houses total (Including 1 shed) Increased max storage options for both virtual and physical items. Legal and Illegal money methods have been reworked to where both can be affordable living - with the exception that illegal methods will still pay more. Removed Drones for time being. Starter money increased. Gang bank payouts every 5 minutes based on the amount of cartels you own. Removed purification. Simplified crafting. Many, many, more things that are just too much to list for an pre-announcement. Server-rule-changes:
Admins - will not be getting any money or perks for the time being, including spawning in vehicles. (They will be a new player just like you) This is to ensure fairness across the community. However, admin duties outside of normal game play will remain and can still run events to make it fun for the community. We are wiping your current count of bans for this year. Ban times will be reduced drastically overall. The goal is to have players in game. Player conflict dispute - If a player does not intentionally break a rule they may try to resolve with compensation. The player does not have to accept compensation, however, the admin team will take it into consideration if we feel your situation is genuine. Note - this is not an in game feature… yet. APD Changes: (Temporary Changes)(Subject to Change)

I cut way down on my asylum time because the server just became too stale, don't get me wrong the scripts and code seem great with all the new things to do on the server but the design of the structures layouts-compositions are awful. The prison is so in need of an upgrade, it seems the whole server is in need of a design face-lift. I offered my time and work for free, no position or pay but I was ignored. The server needs help!
