Despite the drama currently going on around this project that Luke and I were dedicating weeks to, I figured the public should at least be able to see what could have been. Like the map or not, it would have brought a refresh to the server and changed the way things are done.
What we currently have was MAYBE half finished, there was a good amount of small things that still needed to be done such as legal areas, some drug zones and some other miscellaneous areas.

One of the crazy cool things we did about this prison was the ability to escape jail without there being a prison break going on. The exact balance behind this could have been if you escaped jail this way, you would be tracked on the map and Police / BHers would be able to see you at all times. Think of how Star Citizen did their prison system.
To escape jail, you would have to go through a cave system that was built and placed on one of the cliffs of the island. You would have to traverse a 7-10 minute trail that you could possibly die in and have to reset. Think "parkour" style, there were a few parts that if you didnt know exactly where you were going you would drown because you didnt get there fast enough. We were going to make a post in the patch notes if this dropped saying something like: "There is a new way to escape prison, go and find it." and make the community figure it out on their own.

The idea behind this was to have some sort of air defense around the island. Disabling this air defense would allow you to start the Evidence Lockup, as well as fly out or into the other federal events around the island. TLDR: If you want to pick your buddies up from prison in a helicopter, disable the coms tower. The only way to get over to the island would be through a bridge, posted below.

There was an idea that we would have all of the cartels be able to be captured at all times, however gangs would only be able to capture maybe THREE or FOUR at a time, and each cartel would give you different benefits.

We would have used the top left island Moray as a tutorial island for new players to be able to make some starting cash and get a good grip to start the server. The idea was that players that did the tutorial would be able to make around 100-150k, a few vehicles, learn how to do things like crafting vehicles / aircraft, learn how to make and process drugs, along with the other day to day normalcies of rebel life.
Its sad that this project never saw the light of day, we worked long hours into the mornings to try and make this project look and flow well for the Asylum brand. It is unfortunate that the owners of the server did us dirty how they did. If youd like to see a specific area, let me know and I can either get a screenshot or video of the area.

The Bamboo boys are gonna be returning to Lemnos (the real life location of Altis) and I'm thinking about building an Asylum mural somewhere. Basically I want to have like every Asylum player's name cemented on the island in a shared location. It's impossible though for me to remember everyone from memory though so here's what we're gonna do,
If you would like your name cemented on the island then like this post. If you go by a different in-game name than your forums name then comment that name down below. If there is any notable players who are not around anymore but you would still like their names to be cemented on the island you can comment them down below as well (please do not duplicate names other users have submitted). This will be happening within the next week, so spread the word to all your Asylum gamer friends.

Good Evening Asylum Community,
A few weeks ago we had a community meeting to discuss the best way forward and what we can do to increase the population on our server. We talked through some ideas and then pushed out a community poll to get feedback on them.
After we closed the poll we took some time to look at the data, and to look at a proof of concept for a Malden Life Asylum community. @Iukeand @zdeat did a great job in showing us what an Asylum Malden life could look like, and we’ve been digesting that for a few days whilst getting feedback from a number of people within the community.
The poll data was inconclusive, with the neutral and negative portions outweighing the positive. After reviewing this more closely, weighing other feedback, pros and cons, we have decided that Malden is simply too small, and the terrain does not conform to a life format properly.
While we are not moving forward with a map switch at this time, we have seen how a smaller map has the opportunity to increase interaction and the possibilities for additional content on the server, and we have confidence that we will be able to replicate these same features on a reworked version of Altis.
Taking place on a smaller more streamlined version of Altis , this revamped framework will take into account the data gathered from our poll, focusing on heavier RP opportunities, while also fostering the same combat that has made Asylum popular over the years. This will also be a good opportunity to see how we can continue to edit the Asylum idea in different ways, and potentially provide a roadmap for how we would move to another game in the future, with the release of Arma 4, or other similar titles.
Features to be expected:
Service based economy missions (Assasination, vehicle delivery, crate pickup)
Beefed up optional tutorial system with a green zone and increased visibility to the server.
Personal Distress beacons
Karaoke
Boat drug running missions
Gang house drug shipments
Admin warning system
Prestige store with access to elite weapons, attachments, vehicles, and items.
Border patrol outposts
City Hall raids
Reworked Casino,Mental Asylum, Jewelry Emporium maps
Revitalized urban areas and new spawn points
Smokes
More random events including infection containment, and scavenging
Streamlined map and interactions
Fixing of all known bugs as of release
These are lofty goals, but with the increasing size of our design team, and the welcoming back of @Gen. Henry Arnold to the development team, our goal is to have a small bug fix and initialization patch out this weekend, and then a larger release mid-late April. As we work through this transparency will be key, and leaks will consistently be posted in our discord.
**Until this release date we will be evaluating the limited opening of S2 domination on the Utes map, an exact schedule will be released once we have decided on a proper balance with our testing server needs.

Congratulations to @Austin M and @Ken for their promotions to Senior Admin. Give them a few days to get their feet wet before blowing up their DMs. They join Akula and Darkknight as community staff leads in overseeing the staff team, and managing the server & community.
These are well deserved, and we are excited to see what they can do to help improve the server as we move into 2025.

Asylum Community,
Just a quick update from the team here, we want to thank you all for your support in reopening, it’s been awesome to see so many people back online running around. Here is a quick update on where we are.
Over the past few weeks, our updates have been focused on bug fixes, anti-cheat improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements. While we would have loved to dedicate more time to new content during this period, these efforts were absolutely necessary to strengthen the foundation of our platform.
In addition to addressing key issues, we’ve made significant progress on much-needed backend infrastructure improvements and updates. These changes are essential for ensuring long-term stability and performance, providing us with a more solid base to build on as we move forward.
Here is what we have planned for you all as we come into the new year and beyond.
Localized Prison Cells at Police HQs:
Each police HQ will be equipped with a small holding cell. If a gang member is caught (e.g., during a federal heist), they’ll be temporarily detained here.
Breakout Opportunity:
Gang members will have a limited window (X minutes) to attempt an easier prison break from the local holding cell.
Failure Consequences:
If the breakout attempt fails within the set timeframe (or once all gang members are processed and jailed, TBD), the detained player will be transferred to the main jail to serve the remainder of their sentence.
Dispute system
A lot of rule violations that currently end up as as reports and require admin intervention could be handled between the players themselves. This includes asking for compensation, explaining your side of the story etc, and if you can’t figure it out with the other player an admin will step in and take over. Implementing a system to handle these disputes between players will speed up the process for both parties and ensure people don’t get needlessly banned for minor infractions, while also ensuring compensation is properly logged and visible for admins.
Admin warning system
The new warning system provides admins with the ability to issue warnings to players for minor infractions, without resorting to more drastic actions like bans. This is especially useful when admins are not online or when the player is offline.
Players will be required to read and accept the warning before being allowed to continue playing, ensuring they are aware of the issue.
Now obviously there will be some people that will ignore the warning, thats why admins will be able to track of the amount and frequency of warnings a player receives and still issue bans accordingly for repeat offenders
Note that this system will not replace the current ban system, this system is for minor rule violations and cases where the situation isn’t cut and dry, Clear and intentional violations will still get issues by the regular bans
Interactive gathering with tractors, not driving in circles, harvesting bushes for cotton,tobacco,etc
New and improved SRT dynamic, and additional opportunities for civ v specialize cop combat outside of federal events.
New skins and crates coming soon
@Kelly and @Iuke have made some awesome new skins for us to enjoy, including something we’ve never done before
Tutorial town
As part of our roadmap, we're thrilled to introduce Tutorial Town! This will be the perfect starting point for newcomers, designed to help players learn the ropes.
Players will be able to experiment with core features in a low-pressure, guided environment.
Guide NPC's in towns
Navigating our towns is about to get easier than ever for new players! Each town will feature a Guide NPC, specifically designed to help new players find key locations and points of interest.
Strife domination release (soon)
Hireable gas stations for cool perks and passive income
We’re introducing Hireable Gas Stations, an exciting new feature that offers players cool perks and opportunities for passive income. Here’s how it works:
Own Your Spot: There are three gas stations available to hire, and they reset every server restart.
Passive Earnings: Once hired, the gas station generates money over time, which is deposited into a secure safe. It’s up to you to empty the safe regularly—before someone else tries to take it!
Raids and Risks: Other players can raid your gas station to steal the cash you’ve earned. Keep an eye out and defend your property!
Time-Based Ownership: If you’re offline for more than 10 minutes, your gas station becomes available for someone else to hire. Stay active to maximize your income!
Launder with a Bonus: Gas stations double as a laundering spot for banknotes, giving you a 1.5x payout on your cleaned money.
Play More, Earn More: The longer you stay in-game, the higher your return on investment.
Battle Pass
The battle pass will consist of daily/weekly challenges that need to be completed to increase your rank, the further along you get the more rewards you get. There will be 2 tiers available for the battle pass
The free tier will reward you with in-game items, Asylum gold, and some lower tier skins
The paid tier (bought with Asylum gold) will contain premium skins, asylum gold and more rewards
Gang house drug shipments
Thank you @Kill Switch for the idea. As a token of appreciation, you have been awarded 500 gold for your contribution.
Once a large amount of drugs is stashed at the gang house a shipment can be started, this shipment will lead to a hidden drug dealer that will pay you more for the convenience to buy large amounts of drugs at once. Be warned tho, once you start the shipment other players will get tipped off about your general starting location and direction of the dealer.
Distress Beacon

An item that will alert police to your location, to which they will respond with high priority. Always usable(even while handcuffed/blindfolded) and only purchasable and usable while part of the Workers Union. We hope this will give newer players and players doing legal money making methods more of a fighting chance against.
Leaving mail for house owners

Leaving mail at a house will allow you to leave a message for an unknown home owner. Whether you've accidentally damaged their property, such as hitting a baseball through their window, or if you wish to make an offer to purchase the house. Simply leave a letter for the home owner to find next time they check their house’s mailbox, this will be as non intrusive as possible to not bother people with prime real estate while still allowing people to make contact.
Obviously this is not all but it is an idea of what is to come, we are obviously open to any ideas you as a community might bring to us!
You may have noticed that we’ve started awarding 500 gold to players whose suggestions have made meaningful contributions to Asylum. This is our way of saying thank you for helping us improve and grow together!
Going forward, we’re excited to keep this initiative rolling—good suggestions deserve recognition. We hope this incentive motivates you to put effort into crafting thoughtful and impactful ideas. Your input is invaluable, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
We also want to increase the frequency of patches, no longer waiting and compiling changes but instead push changes as soon as they are completed and tested. more rapid iteration will allow us to react/adapt to community feedback and suggestions more effectively.

Foreword:
A number of our team members have spent quite a bit of time the last few weeks in getting this out to you guys. We have fundamentally changed the way our staff operates, the APD is represented, increased our security and processes, and done quite a bit of work to shift our community away from loud, toxic assholes and back to fun, light-rp guys. This is the first step, additional posts will announce more content, staff changes, and policies in the coming days.
The biggest thing we need to fix is the community, no piece of content is going to do that, it is on us as owners, and our staff to help our community recover from all these toxic cunts. I am always here to discuss concerns and will try and hold community townhalls to just discuss things regularly. -Fitz

Altis Workers Union The Altis Workers Union is a new faction for civilian players. These members have access to select facilities to sell items, buy weapons, and work within the law. They are by definition law-abiding citizens, not able to have the training of a rebel, or a skiptracer. Have access to higher caliber weapons to use for self-defense, (Legal with the license) Have access to the Dock Worker in Kavala which grants an 10% sale buff on most legal items Any vehicles bought/pulled out come with a built-in low jack which is activated when the vehicle is lockpicked The APD is then notified and given live updates on the vehicle's location The license can be revoked for uses included in an APD Policy to be released in concurrence with this post. IEDS Rebels can now buy improvised explosive devices to place around the island. Buy the IED from Rebel, hit "Use Item" via the Phone menu Place the bomb where you want to put it and prime the charge Call it from your phone to watch it explode You can defuse an IED with lockpicks once it has been placed There is a chance that it explodes if you try and defuse it, a higher chance if you did not plant it APD officers have better chances of disarming IEDs via the calling of the bomb squad. Send a 911 message to the APD and officers will report to the scene. While an APD vehicle is close to the IED officers will be able to scroll on their trunks to "Activate Bomb Squad" Once an active EOD officer, you will be able to try and disarm the bomb. (Don't worry cops know what they're doing) Upon death or successful disarmament of the IED, cops will get their original gear back. There is also a chance that IEDs will spawn at random around the map. APD officers will be notified with a rough location and be able to defuse the bomb and sell the disabled device. These are sold at the Union Market/Commod Trader You can buy "Raw Papers" and combine them with dried Tobacco and unprocessed marijuana at the Cigar Factory (Near black market production)_ to process cigars. These are sold at wong Evidence Gathering Missions APD officers now have the ability to start an evidence collection mission from any APD HQ, by scrolling on a vehicle NPC. Drive the transport truck to the crime scene and collect the evidence Once the evidence has been loaded you can drive back to the directed HQ, once you arrive you will be prompted to deliver the mission. There is a chance that civilians will receive a notification when a delivery truck has been dispatched, and the location of pickup/delivery, so be careful! Sherrifs Department APD Officers may now deploy for the sheriffs department when joining the island. This faction is designed for those who wish to roleplay, and patrol the cities of Altis. Sheriffs officers are excluded from the numbers required for federal events, although they may be requested as backup in accordance with APD policy. This faction is a blank slate, for role players and experienced officers alike to play in the cities, patrol nearby and engage with the community. Policy has been worked out to ensure that we ease our players into this, with additional development opportunities in the coming weeks.
Mafia Strongholds With the recent development of a union on Altis the Italian Mafia has setup shop with support of local union leaders. There are two Mafia compounds on the island which have associated illegal loot for the taking. These compounds can be breached by civilians (As a federal event), or by APD officers as a raid event. Civilians which successfully defend a mafia compound will be able to steal the loot seized by the APD, and be rewarded for stopping the raid. The process to rob the compounds are the same for both factions. (Cops can buy demo charges and crow bars at the APD shop, rebels at rebel) Place a demo charge on the main gate of the vault. ~5 minutes Use crowbars on the crates inside the compound to open them up ~60 seconds to pry open each crate Grab the sealed containers from the open crates and sell them at the rebel outpost/cop item shop
Tractor Harvesting You are now able to farm bushes with tractors. (Replacing that dog shit garden truck). Tractors will harvest bushes not in towns, that are in front of the vehicle while it drives. Strife Domination In addition to our core domination which is hosted on S1, we're now introducing an extended version which will be hosted once a week for starters. (Saturday afternoon, time to be announced) This version is designed to elevate the battlefield, extending the existing arsenal and vehicle garage with the rest of A3. This ensures that high-tier assets remain available only within the designated combat area. (any exploiting will be a bannable offense) Tutorial system Mandatory Tutorial for New Players: All new players will now be required to complete a tutorial upon first joining the game. [TUTORIAL MODE] Tag: During the tutorial, players will have a special tag, [TUTORIAL MODE], displayed in front of their name. Protected Learning Environment: Players with the [TUTORIAL MODE] tag are to be left undisturbed, except for receiving help and guidance. Enforcement Against Disruption: Any player found intentionally disrupting or ruining the experience of those in [TUTORIAL MODE] will face strict administrative action. Money prestige system We understand this change might come as a surprise, but we’re evolving, and we ask you to give the new Money Prestige System a fair shot. Let’s see where this journey takes us together (we can always revise it along the way, we will listen to your constructive feedback on this). We believe this system strikes a balance that benefits everyone: Grinders now have even more reason to push their limits and be rewarded for their efforts. Cartel fighters will not be constrained by an arbitrary 1 million cap that forces them into endless grinding loops, the 10 million cap offers a wide enough range to play a normal cartel fighting lifestyle. Starting Money Cap: All players will begin with a money cap of 10 million. Any earnings beyond this cap will be redirected towards Prestige. Prestige Progression and Cap Increase: Upon accumulating 10 million Prestige, your money cap will increase by 1 million, allowing you to hold up to 11 million in the bank. This progression continues: for every additional 10 million Prestige earned, your money cap will increase by another 1 million. Prestige Rewards: Prestige will offer exclusive rewards to recognize and reward long-term dedication. Legacy Earnings Conversion: Any money accumulated in V2 and V3 will automatically be converted to Prestige upon your first interaction with the server. Vehicle Insurance After Destruction: Destroyed vehicles will now remain in your garage. Instead of purchasing a new car, you can repair them for their selling price, saving both time and money. Stolen Vehicles: However, if your vehicle is stolen, it will not be recoverable, and you’ll need to acquire a new one. Added an additional free fire rebel

As stated, there are additional pieces of QOL and playable content that are awaiting play testing, they will be pushed ideally the week of Thanksgiving, (Or after depending on holidays).

Hello everyone.
Unfortunately i am bringing some terrible news to the community.
One of Asylums Old long time members Minibagge unfourtunately passed away on Tuesday 21st of May, in a car accident.
For anyone who has been here for any period of time, you will more than likley have interacted with him. He has been in asylum for as long as i can remember. Way back a decade.
On a personal note, Mini was a goofy lovable fuckin teddy bear that Drunk Squad was privileged to have had in our ranks. He was an absolute nerdy sweetheart. We had the pleasure of watching him and Leviathan start to fall in love and start their relationship that evolved to an engagement before he was suddenly taken away from her.
He was a fully non toxic, down to earth stand up lad who brightened up our teamspeak daily. DS are feeling the hurt and i cannot imagine the hole that must be left in the lives of Levi and his family. Obviously sending nothing but love and thoughts their way.
Nothing but love gents.
