  1. I was in a training the other day, and one of the LTs spawned in a really cool looking gendarmerie van added in the recent dlc. Granted, that would only work on Tanoa as currently implemented, but with a slight change of skin, the van would look really cool and would be very functional as a transport vehicle for large amounts of captured criminals or cop reinforcements. Please add this!
  2. Every server is totally down. I've been kicked twice in 30 min
  3. So recently I was bored on Tanoa and decided to engage on some delivery missions. My first parcel mission netted around 2K, Georgetown to La Rochelle. No issue. I then decided to up the stakes a bit and do a package mission. The ride was longer, up harder terrain, and I barely made the time. I also got around 2K. I thought that package missions would be more difficult and pay more. The current system really does not make sense, and this is why I am proposing a trucking mechanic. Here are my ideas: 1. Ability to chose missions. This should be a gimme. There should be a screen where it shows available missions and the tools you need to have nearby in order to take them. This way you can at least plan where you want to go and not have it be totally random and out of the way. Heck, the missions can be randomized, but I should be able to have an idea of what I'm signing up to do. 2. Standard Missions: A normal truck or box should be able to handle most missions, and there should always (or usually) be missions between the major cities. I should be able to, if I wanted, make decent money just trucking between Kavala and Pyrgos and back, multiple times in a row. Each ride should net maybe 3-7K each, depending on variables or how much weight you are hauling. These should have no time limit unless specified. Heck, it's not like I'm doing drug runs. These should be fairly safe grinding methods of money, trading danger and risk in exchange for time and boredom. 3. Risky missions: Now, lets up the ante. Some missions should require a Zamak or HMET on the same routes as above. That would add a greater amount of risk and up the pay significantly. Time limits can also be added (say you are hauling fresh fish or something). Destinations could get riskier, with the ultimate risk being hauling a HMET boxer to a rebel outpost or Cartel. The payout should be insane but the chances of getting robbed are near 100% at that point. 4. Rebel tipoffs: This could add a little extra risk. Gangs should be able to "bribe" the truck delivery people to tip them off of major runs. Say someone takes a mission to deliver a HMET from Kavala to Sofia. There should be a chance of the rebels finding out. You would have no idea until the ambush hits. It would just add an element of risk and make the roads a bit more dangerous. These are my two cents. This won't be a major thing to add, and most of the elements are already there. They just need a bit of development to really shine.
  4. Has the syncing been fixed? I don't really want to get on if it hasn't.
  5. Quick question. I know that if you do not log in for around 2-3 months, your houses get reset. I play 99% on cop, so am I safe, or do I have to log in as a civ to prevent the wipe?
  6. Yeah no, that would add soo much aids. If anything, we should make a FA license and guns more expensive.
  7. Ok, I know, Stratis is gone, and I get that. However, I feel as if an opportunity is being missed here. Playing on both Altis and Tanoa has made me realize that the devs want to make the islands "similar" in content: that is why they put coke back onto Altis. While I did agree with putting coke back, I feel as if each island should be different. Maybe Tanoa has the best rum prices, while Stratis has the best mines or something similar to that. Or maybe Stratis is an PVP island outside of Agia Marina and Girna, just things to make the islands feel separate and distinct. Giving cops separate uniforms for each island would be a great start (maybe giving cops military uniforms for Stratis ), and so on. Sorry for my rambling rant. I've just been thinking about the opportunities here!
  8. As a cop I make pretty decent money. I don't buy fancy weapons or anything, and I am constantly hovering around the money cap.
  9. That's what I learned xD. Even then, Pyrgos was insane when I was on.
  10. I just feel as if RP has been heavily limited. I mean, I'm a cadet, and I try to RP for as long as possible, making people sing songs and dance and whatnot to reduce tickets; it was actually quite fun! There was one time when a guy with a 30K bounty was arrested with 34 counts of hit and run. He had been a problem on that server and was annoying me. A pre-patch bounty hunter came up begging me to let him take this guy in because he had next to no money left. I actually gave the bounty hunter the suspect just to troll the suspect ! This was all cleared of course mind you :P. Now, everything is just a mess. Kavala is aids. I'm trying to RP and shots are flying everywhere as BHs run in guns blazing downing everyone. Are there good RP bounty hunters? Yes, I have met them. However, as it stands now, it is making RP really hard.
  11. The main issue right now that I've seen (as a 4 day Cadet so far) is that now every rebel gang is going bounty hunter. Literally, everywhere I pull up to, Kavala, Pyrgos, Athira, whatever, we have been swarmed by large numbers of bounty hunters, all of whom are part of gangs, and who outnumber and in many cases out-gun us at that point. I do believe that the luster of being a BH will wear off, but as it stands right now, they are cops without rules, and everyone is rolling around with hunters and MX guns. Literally, rebels are begging us to take out their bounties because BHs can track them and follow them wherever.
  12. Ian Walls here, In my few weeks here, I have noticed a few things: the police are understaffed and ill-equipped to handle the gangs that plague Altis, and all governors have 0 incentive to ban drugs or raise taxes beyond 0. Everyone, and I mean everyone runs a campaign based on maintaining the status quo. Nothing changes except for the gang leader who is now in-charge. How can we spice this up a bit? Army. There are tons of military installations on Altis, but there is no literally no function to them. What I am proposing is a professional Altis military force, something akin to police except more based on fighting gangs and rebels, as well as declaring martial law if need be. These forces will need to be paid, so this will open a few mechanics up. 1. Taxes will be need to be levied. To pay your army off, you need funds. You could use your own fortune to build up the army, but you will need to raise taxes probably in order to fund your army. The bigger the force, the more wages need to be paid, resulting in higher costs. 2. This will actually lead to hard choices. Run on a campaign of 0 taxes and win? Great, you now have a force of guys who want money. 3. Coups! Yes, Altis does not strike me as a 1st world developed nation by any means. Lets have some coups go on and military dicatorships and martial law! This will also lead to: 4. REBELS! Yes, rebels will now have a purpose beyond simply robbing the poor souls of Altis. Say the governor is overthrown by the military, but he was very popular, and the new authority banned weed and raised taxes. Rebels will flock to charismatic gangs and retake the nation of Altis! 5. Real wars! Imagine a war going on, with army forces retaking rebel turf and launching raids. That would be amazingly fun to experience. 6. Politics! Being governor will now mean something. You have to delicately balance everything to maintain your grip on power. 7. Territory! Say a rebel gang manages to take a town. I say they should be able to govern it themselves! Rebels should be able to set tax rates for individual towns and regions that they hold, legalizing whatever they want. Rebels can now hold land. Unpopular leaders might find themselves holding only Pyrgos and Kavala. 8. Rebel Takeover! Unleash your inner-blood diamond and take over Pyrgos, slaughtering all forces in your way. Your ragtag group of misfits is now the army of Altis! Discuss. I would beyond a doubt join the army and kick some rebel butt!

    Hi all

I've been hanging on server 2 a lot, but I have never joined the forums until now My name is Ian Walls, and if you love server 2, you know me from my constant banter on side chat about anything from complaining about Kavala crime to helping noobs pick apples. That is just how I roll. Anyways, I hope to become and active member of the forums and the community! This has been my favorite set of servers so far, and it is definitely my new Altis Life Home!
