V2 feedback

I strongly agree with a lot of this. So far running V2 on server 3 after the last week, I would say most of it is in a very nice point. Most of it appears to be running well and working. I would like to know what is left on the agenda before its ready to release to live. Whats the status on BH & Medic, whats the reason they arent on the test server? are they simply not written, or just inactive while being reworked. I don't know, but I would be more than happy to test whatever the last few kinks are that would help put V2 out the door sooner.

New content will be nice, but its not necessary for the first push to V2. Get it out to live, Give it a little while for hotfixes on current content first, then new content can come in. I can come in daily and submit a ticket over minute unimportant kinks in V2 no problem, but a priority list of what needs testing and finished would be nice.

As we've stated previously, new content was not to be expected in this. We redid some menus and added some additional functionality to some things. It was well stated I feel that BH/Infamy/Honor was going to be non-existent. Medic is not on the server due to talks of making it whitelisted. However, if the issues the current servers have is still present, we know the cause is completely due to civilian/cop side and we have a lot less to go through. We want to rework the infamy/honor stuff as it's pretty OP in some regards and we want to re-balance some of it. However, having that stuff out too, helps with debugging purposes if we still have issues.

The current stuff we're working on is just some on death related stuff. Azeh and I worked through a few last minute things a bit ago.

All this talk of future additions and new content after V2. V2 was announced 4 months ago and when it was announced, claimed to have months of work spent on it. When we talk about new content or revisited features how far are we talking? Weeks, months, years? I appreciate V2 and it was much needed, but, how long are we going to be waiting for these systems that existed to be reimplemented? I liked my '+25% selling illegal stuff'. Not OP. Just makes making money how it should be.

Four Developers re-made what took several people years to create in under 4 months, for free?

And there are complaints?

With all due respect, to some of you, who the fuck are you to even weigh in on such things?

You are the bastard children of a once proud yet greedy developer who left you all wanting more.  These guys are just picking up pieces and trying to make you whole again.

Spitting in their faces will only lead to an end.

It was never a thing until Poseidon just came around not too long ago... Proper calculations of existing talents/group talents/etc was not factored in very well clearly before implementation... Making money will be as difficult/easy as we determine it should be. Sorry to burst any bubbles.

Can you cite your references? As I haven't been here very long and it was announced April 11th here: http://www.gaming-asylum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/105292-what-is-asylum-v2/. No where in there do we state it was worked on for months prior to that?  We created the Github Repository for the code (which was the BASE Altis Life 3.1.4.8) on March 20th...

Not even accurate...

2 Developers for 4 months. Henry only started contributing to the code repository about a week after Pizza Man was removed from the team (First commit was on July 15th). Until then it was solely Azeh and I. Henry has only been helping on it for about a month or so now...

I'll add that while Pizza Man never actually worked on V2 (as in he never had access to the repository), he does have work that made it in. The phone, drug runner, weapon shop, garage menu (code was replaced), vehicle shop menu (code was replaced) and notification system.

Where was that said? The Github repo was opened 4 months and 25 days ago.

T
here's no way for us to know when the repo was created. Thats why I used 4 + x months as my number. Jesse has been working on making asylum perform better since January if this screenshot is right. I get that this is essentially rewriting the mission file which makes new content look like nothing. I just am hopeful we don't have to wait for another couple months just to get a new money making method or even to get the removed features, reworked.

Even more impressive.

Arguing semantics with these people will only frustrate you and continue to infuriate me.

Continue your course.

Look, I really don't mind V2 is taking as long as it is. I can wait. What I'm asking is how long you guys think after v2 till we push content? You guys work on your own schedules which is cool. I'd understand if theres burnout too. I'm just legitimately just asking a question. Weeks, months, years. Are we looking in the near future or far future? All we have is V2 as a reference point for velocity of the new devs.

Its easier to push content with a good base.  Something we've never had.  Let us get the new mission file launched and enjoy the stability a bit we can dive into the endless bucket of suggestions and ideas we've had since myself and Bada took ownership.

If I had to guess, the absolute beginning of any 'V2' was maybe 2 weeks before we started the current repo. The first repo was scrapped. Prior to that, no work was done on any other mission file than V1.

Adding a new money making method probably takes a day, if that. It's just a matter of priorities.

Guess I'll just go off myself. On Server 3.

Why can't we just get more information??? What specifically is holding back V2? Jesse's schedule? Clint's approval? Easy unloggable exploits? (just examples not being serious)

You basically answered the question yourself...

I have to assume it's incredibly stressful and difficult based on how many blunders the public has seen. Then you have ungrateful people being snarky, and everyone being pessimistic and an asshole.

If we're not 100% accurate with what is said now, everyone picks it the fuck apart. It's annoying. I got pretty agitated last week. Even if we type out status updates on it, no one seems to read them. So figured, it's better to just ignore it, and continue on.

No that was me trying to make the current live mission work better. Which got rid of the mass kicks and brought the server crashes to light.. We crushed a few issues, but were left with one major roadblock that we couldn't fix. I didn't touch V2 until the repo was created. The rest was work on V1 testing/debugging and trying what I could to fix it...

Should have shot the horse sooner.. Thing had 4 broken legs and we needed glue.

That's one of the funniest things.  I was a contributor.  A position they (Jesse) stated was one where you didn't have to be around very much and I wasn't around for a week or two cause I was busy lawing people in real life and due to that I got removed from being contributor.  And not one person attempted to reach out to me during that time.  Things will probably continue to progress on the server but extremely slowly like it has been with that philosophy.

The only contribution you made was new lights for apd vehicles in 2017 that hardly anyone used because they led to fucking seizures with their wacky ass placement so dont complain about being removed, your spot was wasted plain and simple.

A lot of people in the community don't like to read. I never felt the need to put TL;DR on posts until I started posting here frequently. :(

I had other stuff in the works/completed.

The new search/seize menu was done.  I just hadn't really had any experience with implementing stuff for dedicated servers so there were some things that needed to be tweaked that I thought were completed but I never heard anything back.  I guess I could have communicated better but I didn't have much free time then.

speaking of that notification system, the UI for it is too high up, it overlaps ontop of arma 3's stamina ui

So the people who get to spawn in their own vehicles/guns/gear with absolutely no risk of ever losing anything get to determine how difficult it is for regular players to obtain their own gear? Lol why the fuck are you even asking us for feedback?

Ok buddy stop breaking stuff

Unfortunately the hint provided in the HUD layout editor is for advanced hints and unless you want everyone's default notification position to be in the middle of the screen then I think the static top right corner is pretty good, so not exactly broken mister. I am going to have to speak with my lawyers about this blatant slander and figure a settlement to cover the impacts this has had on Gibbo Slavone Pizza's enterprise.
