How did you hear of this server, and what made you stay?

Recommended Posts

A post in another thread inspired the idea for this thread. How did you stumble upon Asylum, and what was the most memorable event that made you want to stay in the server?

I for one just downloaded arma 3 after beating 1,2 and Operation Arrowhead. I heard about Dayz but by the time I did so, the servers were dead for the game (before stand alone of course). I knew that Arma 3 was barely a year old so I googled game play footage and stumbled upon a video of our life server. Someone uploaded a video of their friend getting shot by cops, and so the person decided to go and lock pick the car that the police had their friend in. POV person got shot as he tried to drive away with his friend that was still in handcuffs, and he was pulled from the vehicle  then he proceeded to tell the cop that he was given keys by the officer's partner. The officer appeared to be legitimately confused as to why homie had the keys and apologized, letting the pov player go. I don't remember the rest of the video but at that point I was fucking dying of laughter. It reminded me a lot of Trailer Park Boys, and I had to play the server. Spent much of my time in the beginning learning about the game while in Kavala, and eventually I became a member of the APD where I learned a lot about the server from there. The rest is history you can say. I have a lot of favorite early memories of this server. My first drug run I made it all the way to dealer, and I died of hunger(thirst?) right in the middle of selling my shit. Had 0 money to go back. Sucks to suck.

What made me stay was the active community and staff.

What brought you here?

Back in the day 12 year old Brendon had a shitty del laptop that would turn into a jet engine when playing at 3-5 fps. I remember getting the game after seeing the trailer and logged into the first server I saw on the browser. From there I spawned into Sofia met a girl named Pigbutt and she helped me out, gave me the things I needed. Bought me a backpack and through weeks at 3 fps I would run back and fourth gathering apples and selling. Eventually I quit so I could work jobs to afford a better computer and came back a year later, looking for my old friends who I never saw again. I kept playing hoping to run into them again and eventually gave up, but at that point I made new friends.

Watchd DevilDogGamer on youtube play Altis life. It wasn't even on Asylum, but this is the server I ended up on in 2018. All of the other servers were dead aside from Oly, and every time I even went on there to feel it out it was utter dogshit.

Asylum had the best flow for grinding. The best cops. The best map layout. No wack ass NLR rule or other cuck shit.

Yea Olympus' NLR was enough for me to not wana stay with that server, plus how the cops weren't require to give you reduced ticket if you rp'd or turned yourself in.
