A new chapter for Asylum: Ownership Change

To the Community,

For the past decade, Asylum has been more than just a server; it’s been a home and a community where memories were made. We've seen countless players come and go, Asylum has stood resilient, standing the test of time and change.

The past 12 months have been particularly tough. We’ve watched our daily population dwindle, slowly but surely, culminating in the difficult decision to wipe the server earlier this summer. It was the right call—after 10 years of different owners, developers, and their respective visions for the server’s economy and play style, it was time for a reset.

In a very short time, an immense amount of work went into the V3-branded mission file, both on the front end and back end. For a moment, our population exploded, and it seemed like someone finally had a plan, that there was someone behind the wheel steering us forward. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Decisions lingered for days and weeks, with no one able to rise and take the initiative. Changes on the development side rendered the team unable to make meaningful contributions to the community. Despite the best efforts of HunterB, Akula, DK, and others, without the authority to make impactful decisions, their initiatives fell short.

In light of this, several members of the development team took action, forcing a change and taking ownership of the community. Gaming-Asylum is once again in the hands of the developers who have been making the server run. For the first time since Paratus founded this server, those shaping Asylum's future have both an emotional and financial stake in its success.

Our goal now is to increase the frequency and quality of patches, drive interaction within the community, and breathe new life into Asylum. We’re going to drag this community kicking and screaming into the next iteration of online role-playing games. Whether it’s GTA 6, Arma Reforger, or Arma 4, we are committed to keeping the community going.

We understand that trust is not given; it’s earned. Given the current state of the server, we completely understand if you’re hesitant to believe in promises alone. Frankly, if we were in your shoes, we’d probably feel the same way. That’s why we’re not asking for your trust right now—we’re asking for your patience.

We weren’t sure we’d reach this point, but we’re here and ready to move forward. Transitioning ownership is more complex than flipping a switch. We’re currently finalizing the transfer of everything into our name, and during this time, you’ll start to see changes in staff, policies, and more.

We’re also hard at work on a comprehensive roadmap that will guide not just development changes, but also updates to factions and administration. Once the paperwork is complete, we’ll dive headfirst into development. You can expect the patch notes for a minor update with some desperately needed changes/fixes tomorrow, with the patch itself releasing by the end of the week or early next week.

We appreciate your patience and loyalty through the ups and downs. Your feedback and passion are what keep us going. Together, we’re entering a new era for Asylum, and we’re excited to share this journey with you.

Thank you for standing by us.

Nobody is falling into this trap again Mitch. Actions speak louder than words and staff has proven time and time again to fail in assuring the community of change or server improvement on several occasions. Staff understand and know their flaws; however, refuse to take accountability and provide the community with the necessary leaders to gain the trust of asylum players. There are several issues inside and outside of the asylum server which the staff have not addressed to public; Including the provisions to provide transparency between the staff and it's asylum player base / community.

[ My recommendation is to have a mandatory server wide meeting which all players are allowed to speak and ask question on a more frequent basis ].

Honestly. Just merge with Olympus.

I love asylum but I hate to see it being drug around on life support like this. Give it a chance by combining with Oly

i dont think oly needs to combine with any server they already have 100-130 pop average everyday

??? Why would oly even consider this lol

it's not always about players. Combine assets, financials/budgetary spend, intellectual property, and general devs/brainpower.

Arma 3 is a dying game. Instead of trying to separate the already sparse player base, just combine it and all it's resources.

Why do you think companies IRL buy their dying competitors. It's common practice. Use your head instead of your ego.

Let's see how this triple ownership goes, I mean the double ownership of bada and clint was good, maybe 3 owners could be too much for conclusive desicion to be made with so many different brains/personalities, unless you do have an actual plan to go by.

I wish you three the best! @Mitch@ObiWoki@Fitz

Kind regards,

obvious choice yet they just dont see it.

Boy ain’t buyin shit with that KFC manager money. Anywho. Should’ve sold it to me months ago. My offer is now $15,000 USD

Also, just let this shithole die. Not long before gta 6 and that will be the final nail in the coffin. I’ve had 7 of my alts on, and that makes up half the server pop now a days.

I think people forget that the long term goal is to transfer Asylum to another game. The death of Arma 3 does not mean the death of this community.

Two dramatic server owner shifts and server only got put in the ground even deeper xd

I bet Paratus is secretly still watching his creation  dwindle deeper and deeper into the abyss thinking to himself: "Thank God I exit scammed that shit 🤣

Doesnt mean they should put the final nail on the communities' coffin by killing it with neglect in the meantime
