Sleeper Don
Original Issue: Tired of all the same, repetitive "NEW" money-making methods where you just stand around to make cash? Sure, making meth sounds cool, but most of these "NEW" methods boil down to collecting, processing, and selling. The only other way to make money is through end-game events like cartels or the fed events, which most players don’t even get to participate or experience. These end game events can even become repetitive with people just camping a POI, ripping anyone who tries to push into a small, heavily defended areas. As someone who’s went out of my way to make the server exciting and teach new players, I’ve found it difficult. Even when I teach them how to make money, the only thing that gets them pumped is combat, but a lot of the time it was hard to find "winnable" fights for their level. After a long day at work, who wants to grind even more in a video game? There’s a reason KOTH is always packed. Its easy and little to no risk to jump into a fight. Suggestion: Last I checked, this is a milsim game and not Farmville. Why not add a KOTH event that randomly pops in one of the main cities (Kavala, Athira, Pyrgos, Sofia) at least once per server restart? Set it up like a gang fort event where there are Rebel Outpost spawns near the event. Allow players to auto-spawn with basic gear (SPARs, vests, or something suitable) at these Rebel outpost, so even beginners or broke players can jump in, fight, and still make money without major risk. If players want better guns, they can hit up the rebel shop. Block off regular city spawns and house spawns, but have rebel outpost spawns to the north, south, east, and west of the city to allow more areas of approach and make the fight more dynamic. Then, create a big KOTH-style circle around the city. Players earn points for their gang inside the circle. Rewards: Players get cash for every X seconds just for being inside the city’s capture zone and extra cash for holding the MOVING priority zone. They also earn money for kills. At the end of the event, all participants get a big cash bonus based on their time in the zone, along with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gang. The winning team gets a large reward, plus passive income in the form of tax dollars from that citiy activities (drug sales, legal money-making, garage fees, general store purchases, etc.) deposited into their gang bank. Unresolved Details: How do we make this enjoyable for solo players or those without gangs? They could still earn event rewards, but I’m unsure if they’d have a real shot at the city’s passive rewards. Maybe we can tweak the system to include them better, but that part is up for discussion. This is a general idea so feel free to add input and improve down below. Link to comment
Sleeper Don
I play it all the time, brother. I figured with Code 4's steady player base of over 200, we could learn from their approach. This could attract more players by providing something familiar, fun, profitable and easy to join low-risk fights. Link to comment
