Hunting Ground not working

I recently went up to the Hunting Ground and tried my hand at hunting. I killed a few chickens and 1 dog with a 9mm Rook Pistol. I had a skinning knife in my inventory but nothing happened when I tried to skin the dead animals. There was no scroll option for skinning, and when I tried to "use" the skinning knife from my inventory it said that the item could not be used. I even tried to use the Custom Button 2 to pick up things around me, but there was nothing on the ground.

Did I do something wrong or is the hunting ground just bugged atm?
