  1. Nah. What stops medics from venturing out from cities is people respawning even after calling for medic. That's the single biggest problem with playing a medic. You want medics to not be VDM'ing jerks, that's cool. I agree. Then make the clas whitelisted. You want anyone to want to bother playing a medic after that? Make it so medics aren't flying 5+km to try to revive a dude who is just gonna respawn anyway. A good medic can get to anyone who is on land with minutes to spare on the bleed out timer. Money is definitely a part of it, and honestly to 'afford' playing a medic I'll do civilian stuff during the day because buying a helicopter/taking it out of garage will put you in a hole if you do it enough times and don't have a chance to defib people. But, the money wouldn't be a huge issue if we actually had people to rez.
  2. This is incorrect. I've had a non-EMT steal my chopper last week.
  3. Why do you want to be Asylums next top pilot? Because flying is fun. Especially when you screw up in front of dozens of people. How many hours would you say you have flying on Arma? Probably a thousand or so hours between OFP-ARMA-ARMA2-ARMA3 Would you say you are the best in our community? At certain skills, probably. What will you do with the money if you win. Proceeds will go directly into my Medic fund to buy me more lives and choppers.
  4. Man sorry I completely boggled the comprehension of your post. I assumed from the wording it was an actual wreck location, and not one you wanted to be added. ATM distance does make it plenty risky.
  5. I dunno, I had a lot of bad experiences with it when first starting out and I had a few friends who wanted to give the game type a shot but hated how fast things despawned and never came back.
  6. I kind of like how EMT's are unarmed. It means that we aren't a threat and shouldn't be treated as one unless we're gonna revive an enemy. Would definitely love the 'call for medic' system to be revamped in a way that means that I have a chance to revive people instead of flying back and forth doing nothing for a few hours because people click respawn asap even after calling for a medic.
  7. You'll have to provide more detail on the shop robbing you, because it sounds like a bug report should be made. I don't really agree with the complaint about needing to go to a dive shop. If its as secluded as you say, and you're going to be diving the whole time: what's the big deal for the whole one trip you need to make to the dive shop assuming you already don't have the gear? Yea, it sucks when you get a run of bad luck and the server crashes. Any other situation you have ample warning that the server is going to restart. Even with a carryall, if you have the excavator perk, your inventory is going to be full with minutes to spare before the boat despawns. Heck: even if your client crashes, in many instances you'll be able to log back on in time to interact with the boat before it disappears. I do have a question though: do shipwrecks have different hauls? For instance, will some have a chance for more gems or cocaine?
  8. I suggested warning shots too: I can take a risk of going into a red zone, but if some shots land at my feet (or sound nearby), I'll know there's an active fight going on and I have the choice of risking my neck or bugging out. Unless the littlebird is stolen: it's obvious what kind of chopper is a medic and what is not.
  9. Despawn warning would be great. However, for a lot of gathering type jobs, the despawn window is way too short.
  10. I had some guy hang around my chopper the other day waiting for me to unlock it to get in/steal it. I warned the guy to back off but he still hung around anyway. I got in my medic chopper, and started to take off. The guy purposefully ran in front so it killed him. I got a 5k bounty and I tried texting the police for over an hour and no one responded, let alone pardoned me. I ended up having to log off, wait 10 minutes, log back in as CIV, pay the fine, log off for 10 minutes, and then go back to playing medic (you know, after paying another 2,500 for a chopper).
  11. I've been playing Medic for a bit, and I like how hectic it can get on busy nights. But, a few things really bug me about the class. The worst thing about it is people who call for medics but respawn anyway. Can something be done about this? I'm tired of flying out across the island for people 8km away, but respawn as soon as the timer lets them. First thought is some sort of system that incentivizes someone calling for a medic, and penalizes them for respawning after calling one, but not to the point where they stop calling medics. Another thing that bothers a lot of medics that play is that the pay is so low. It doesn't take a lot to have a very bad night playing the class because of kills and people respawning after calling medics. But the pay wouldn't be that bad if we could get to more people who call for medics and... RDM/Red Zones Can the rules be updated a little to deal with the fact that the vast majority of medics are unarmed? The class can't buy weapons or vests/gear by normal means. So, for the most part, we're completely defenseless. I'd like to have something like warning shots for entering a zone if a group doesn't want me to revive someone, or verbal/text warnings. Instead, it is KOS. Talking with other people in game about medics, a lot of people also want medics to be whitelisted, because I guess a lot of people think that most medics are worthless.
