How do the tents work?

I bought a tent the other day trying to use it as a staging for a loot run. The tent de-spawned on server reset. I thought they would be persistent more like DayZ. Can anyone explain in more detail how the tents work? Thanks for the comments and please play the game as it was intended, always R.P.!

Tents last until restart as you said. Running them over with cars destroys them.

Tents are a temporary storage method that will despawn after server restart. If you want something that consist over server restart you will need to get a house for 70k+, donate 10 dollars to the server and buy a storage crate witch you put in your house

If I am correct you no longer need to have the donor rank in order to be able to buy a storage.

I bought a storage for my gang house and I am not a donor, yet that is. Have been enjoying the server very much!
