  1. I love playing Arma 3 when it's only first person enabled, and no crosshairs. That's what makes Arma 3 so great, is the realism. People get used to the comfort of third person and then can't play first person really well. I can guarantee though that if you took away third person some of the best shooters on Altis life servers wouldn't do all that well. Most of these montages you see on here are almost 100% 3rd person peaking with non-adaptive crosshairs. Third person for me just takes away a whole aspect of the game, which is the realism. Seeing around and over obstacles with no risk for reward aspect irritates me. But to each their own. I never understood the, "I don't like first person" complaint for Arma 3, when a lot of the people who play Arma 3 play a lot of first person only shooters. What's the difference?
  2. Yes it is Tanoa. In Altis Special Forces, and doing operations in Tanoa. You know, going oversea's and what not.
  3. Vote for Jason as the new governor of Altis on server 2! As governor I would lower taxes, legalize marijuana, and legalize rifles because it is our right! No more corruption in the Government of Altis! I don't send classified emails on private servers like my opponents do! You wouldn't see me involved in any scandals either (except for a few DUI's here and there). Jason proudly served his country in the Altis Special Forces and was honorably discharged. Then he proudly served his community by working in soup kitchens, donating half of every meth run to the poor, and voting not guilty for wrongfully imprisoned citizens sent to jail on drug charges. Jason has the political experience to run Altis, and the military experience to be the commander and chief of our armed forces. Vote Jason for governor to fix the corrupt and tyrannical government, and bring piece, prosperity, and freedom back to Altis. (Paid for by the Jason For Governor Campaign)
  4. The CQB tactics and ability of those cops you dropped was atrocious.
  5. I just witness that bearded man's brain cells dying in this video.
  6. Not sure how well this would work, not sure if Asylum already has this. But I saw some gameplay from the "Arma 3 Life" server, and whenever someone was wearing a mask (balaclava, bandana on face, or shemagh), you couldn't see their name. The title above their head was simply "masked person". Would this be a good idea for Asylum servers? Or do you think it would make rebels and criminals abilities to remain anonymous OP? I think I would enjoy it. Of course if you kill or remove someone's mask while they're restrained you can see their name. I feel that it could add some serious realism to Asylum. But it may be frustrating for police. It could be cool, but it also might make it too realistic, and just cause problems and frustration. Also the server I'm referring to has countless mods that are required to play, so this also might only be possible with mods, therefor making it impossible on Asylum. But I'm not sure. Anyways, thoughts?
  7. Can I just get the cocaine. My local drug dealer got busted by the fuzz and I need my fix.
  8. I've played on this server since March of 2014, I kind of miss night time. I wouldn't mind it coming back. But maybe make it shorter. Like 25-30 minutes.
  9. Clears up a lot of questions for me. Thanks for the info, Trilligy.
  10. I think it's up to the officer to do what they want with their own money. I don't think it should be a requirement. You don't want people thinking, "Oh he's a cop I can get free money". Money in Asylum should be earned. It gives new players more experience to earn their own money. It's good to learn the basics before getting more money than you know what to do with, if you're a new player. Maybe they should start automatically with a little more money so they can buy a vehicle. Then again I have no clue how much new players start with these days. I started 2 years ago, so I'm sure things have changed.
  11. I personally lean more towards 1st person infantry, but 3rd person vehicles. For me personally it's more immersive. It's also more of an acquired taste. If you watched the video he says people lean more toward 3rd person because it's a comfort zone thing. Knowing you can see the enemy without putting yourself in harm's way is safe and satisfying. 3rd person peeking can make an entire group of guys defending an objective unstoppable. They can see the enemy without exposing themselves, but the enemy has no way of finding out until they're already dead. I don't think it's cheap, I'm not insulting 3rd person players at all. I personally would enjoy it more though in 1st. But unfortunately Asylum would lose a lot of players if they went to 1st only. 3rd offers more casual gameplay. 1st is for the hardcore players. I only play first person in single player and tactical realism. But if I'm in Altis life I really have no choice. I'd be putting myself at an enormous disadvantage.
