  1. Yeah but this was an issue with my own hardware so there is no way they will give me a new orca. I was recording it but there is no way to prove from the recording that I crashed because of my flight stick and not pilot error.
  2. Well, the universe it trying to tell me something now. With my luck I didn't want to try my hand at the illegal stuff because I am pretty sure I would get caught so instead I got in my Orca and headed back out to the oil rig. Half way there and my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro flight stick decided to stop working and I just lost a 110k helicopter. No this game isn't for me. While it might have the potential for some people to have fun, right now I am stressed, fucking angry and, for the sake of other people, grateful that I do not own a real gun.
  3. Looking to retire to the sunny beachside town of Kalithea. Then I can soak up the rays and spend my retirement fishing. Please let me know if you have a property available there and what sort of price you want for it.
  4. It isn't the starting out that I'm struggling with. I have figured out how to make money. I can make roughly 30K in about an hour by diamond mining. I can make a hell of a lot more by processing and selling oil. The problem is that doing these things are very time consuming and quite boring. I am fully willing to do the more boring parts of the game in order to make money to finance the more fun parts of the game. What has put me off is spending long amounts of time doing the more boring parts of the game only to have something go wrong with the game just as I am reaching the final part of the money making venture causing me to lose everything I have just spent an hour, and quite often much longer, doing. This is why I decided if I bought a house somewhere near the oil processing centre or the mineral processing centre then I can just fill up storage crates in my house with oil to sell or with diamonds to be processed. So I started looking for a house. After multiple hours across a couple days I searched for a house. They are all taken. I cannot find a house anywhere available. Someone on the forum pointed out to me that there is a Real Estate section to the forums so I looked there to find that the prices you are expected to pay are extortionately higher than the base price for a house. Games should be played for fun. I really want to like this game but so far the amount of frustration I have experienced playing far exceeds the amount of fun I have had. That is why I am considering quitting. I am a role-player by nature so I expected this game would be perfect for me. What this game is trying to be just doesn't seem to hold up in practice from my point of view.
  5. I've never found a game like this one before. And by that, I mean a game which I really, really want to like but which just isn't possible to like because the game seems to fight you at every turn. At first I was having problems with elements of the game that I simply didn't understand but then a player, (IFRIT)Mitch, came along and helped me out. Now I have a better understanding and what I have come to realise is that as a new player this game sadly offers far more frustration than fun. I know what I want to do in the game to make money but I need to buy a house first. I have scoured the island and they are all gone. I checked the Real Estate section of the game to realise that this is the section where you go to buy houses from other players at extortionately over prices amounts of money. So I decided to forget about buying a house and just focus on earning money. I went back and forth multiple times between the oil refinery and the oil processing plant and just as I managed to fill my boat with processed oil, the server crashes and I lost the lot. I know I cannot get back the money I donated towards this game but I can guarantee there will be no more donations coming from me. I'm going back to playing some of my early access games, all of which have far less bugs and glitches than this game.
  6. It just doesn't make sense. Sure the 40k houses are small but come on!! You cannot fit a box to put your stuff in inside one? I know the decent houses in the cities are gone because I spent hours yesterday looking for one. Today though, I have spent hours driving around looking at houses in the middle of nowhere. They are all gone. This game has so many players and everyone can buy up to 5 houses so basically anyone, like me who has only just recently started playing is basically shit out of luck and should just forget about buying houses. There aren't any left as far as I can tell.
  7. I have searched all over the island. The only houses I can find for sale are the 40K small shacks. I bought one and then went over to the home improvements shop only to discover that you cannot put anything in a 40k house. What is the point of that? So basically I have wasted my money........again. This game has so money money drains in it.
  8. What if every time I process the oil and put it into the Zamak truck, I then get into the truck as a driver and then hop back out again? Would that not keep it from despawning. Surely everytime I get into it it would reset the 10 minutes?
  9. In this game I have noticed that almost ever small village big or small seems to have one of those little burger huts. The majority of them have no use at all. I would like to see signs placed at all of them. I understand there is nothing you can do about populating the game. It would be great if the game actually had AI civilians walking around making the world feel actually populated but the game simply does not have that possibility. It is really annoying when you are out doing something and you suddenly realise that you are a bout to starve to death even though you are in a town with a burger place but you have to drive half way across the map because the one you are near has no function.
  10. I want to understand how the vehicles despawn. Is it to do with time or distance from vehicle or both? The example I am thinking about is this. Let's say I get a boat and I go out to the oil rig, get some crude oil and take it to be processed. I can do this run 10 times before the motorboat is full. The motorboat can hold 200 but my Zamak truck can hold 700. If I then take all the processed oil from the motorboat and put it into my Zamak truck, will the truck at the oil processing plant despawn if I head back out to the oil rig to get more oil?
  11. First a question. Is "Gang" just the collective name for all types of groups on this game or does "Gang" just refer to the criminal element of the game? I ask because I prefer playing on the legal side of the game. I either play bounty hunter or paramedic. What I would like to find though is a group of bounty hunters that I can join. I have yet to actually catch a bounty and I think it could be more fun if I had others with some experience I could learn from. I am English, living in Germany so a European group would be preferable as I will be on similar times to them.
  12. Nah, it is fine. I just think paramedics is not really the way to go. I like the idea but they don't work in practice as I think they were intended to. As for playing civilian, I just have to remember to always have a gun out and point it at anyone who approaches. Then as soon as they say hands up. BANG. I shoot them in the face. I may not have said anything but once they say hands up, then I know their intentions are hostile so it becomes self defense.
  13. Well, I'm not lying. Maybe it is just bad timing. I don't know. The last few hours have been less bad but probably only because I avoid all people in the game. If I see people while I am unarmed then I turn and run. Plus I do not drive on roads. Off road only. Most of the times when I have been shot it has been by someone who drives me off the road to rob me. I have to add, one fatal flaw I have found in this game is this. The only way that you can store any items is by having a storage crate in a house. You need money to buy a house so earlier today I filled a Zamak truck with diamonds, processed them and went to the jewelry store. As I was heading in someone ran up to me and said, "Hands up". I complied because I had not yet sold the diamonds. He knew what I was doing so he said I might just as well sell all the diamonds and give him the money as he was going to rob me as I sold them anyway and if I went somewhere else to sell them then he would just follow me. So in other words I spent almost an hour doing the boring work of mining and then ended up in a situation where there was no way to get out of it. If I ran, he would shoot me, if I went somewhere else he would still take what I had and shoot me so I did the only thing left open to me. I logged of the game. Sure I lost an entire Zamak truck full of diamonds but I am not going to spend an hour doing some of the more boring parts of the game only to benefit someone who has camped out at the jewelry store.
  14. Maybe I just have to play longer to understand the difference because right now I do not see a difference. I've been shot a bunch of times last night and today. Apart from the last couple hours of play, I always complied and put my hands up and the result was the same on each and every occasion bar one. Put your hands up, lose any money you are carrying and get shot in the face. Don't want this to turn into Asylum wasteland. Sorry pal!! Too late, you cannot get too much more wasteland than it already is. I'm going to keep playing but I have come to realise that I will have to put up with the 90% of the population who are only interested in killing me so that I can on very rare occasions get to role play with one of the 10% who actually understand the concept of roleplaying.
  15. Okay, so today I decided to try my hand at being a paramedic. My experience so far is that it is a total waste of time. I have been playing as one now for a little over 4 hours and in that time I have saved zero lives. People either respawn before I get to them or they are people who injure someone and then lie in wait so they can rob a paramedic. I'm not sure I see the point. When I put my hands up can they take the painkillers and blood bags that I am carrying. I would have checked but the guy who robbed me then shot me in the face afterwards. Personally I think the whole RDM rule in this game is pointless. Sure, they cannot kill you without warning. So instead, they just say, "Put your hands up." They take what they want and then they tell you that they will kill you anyway. Pointless!! In my experience, hands up or not still gets you killed. That is why I have now resorted to telling anyone who asks me to put my hands up to quite frankly go and f**k themselves. I now understand why there are so few paramedics in this game. Any advice as I quite like the idea of being a paramedic? In practice it seems so pointless though.
