cheap and past gen hardware

Recommended Posts

idk i was just lookin on amazon trynna find some deals cuz i was thinkin about making a dual xeon x5690 system and was just looking at other stuff too and found some pretty sick deals.

like you can get 2 gtx 980 tis for only $600https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Whisper-Graphics-06G-P4-4991-KR/dp/B00YDAYOF0/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=gtx+980+ti&qid=1564338271&s=gateway&sr=8-6

and the westmere gen xeons are cheap too. especially for a 6 core processor at 3.5ghz that can be ran in a dual cpu config for only $150https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H9JSTHG/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AI6GZ5PBWGE5G

and depending on your mobo you can actually overclock those xeons even with the multiplier locked by overclocking the baseclock, a good example of this is the evga sr2, but they're expensive af and not on amazon, gotta find them on newegg or ebay.

but even just dropping a couple tiers on those xeons you can still get some 6 cores for cheap af: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-6-Core-3-33GHz-Processor-Renewed/dp/B07P2632B8/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=xeon+X5680&qid=1564338539&s=electronics&sr=1-1 like thats a 6 core processor at 3.3ghz for ONLY $65.

and if you dont plan on overclocking x58 xeons you can get some fairly cheap intel 1366 mobos for around $70 or $80 from intel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0771RY44P/ref=crt_ewc_img_dp_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1PI1UGZBZUSUA https://www.amazon.com/Intel-S5520UR-LGA1366-Server-E22554-752/dp/B00JIZ3EF6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=1366+motherboard&qid=1564338699&refinements=p_89%3AIntel&rnid=2528832011&s=gateway&sr=8-3

and theres a single cpu config with an overclockable board for only $239 (thats pretty cheap for overclockable 1366 boards): https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Extreme-Triple-channel-CrossFireX-Overclocking/dp/B001ISJONM/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=1366+motherboard&qid=1564338699&refinements=p_89%3AIntel&rnid=2528832011&s=gateway&sr=8-2

heres some i7-4770s for only $170https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-4770-Quad-Core-Processor-BX80646I74770/dp/B00CO8TBNS/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=i7+4770k&qid=1564339030&s=gateway&sr=8-6

heres a 3.7ghz quad core i7 for the 2011 socket that only costs $164https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-4820K-FCLGA2011-Processor-Cache/dp/B00EMHM672/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=i7+4770k&qid=1564339030&s=gateway&sr=8-8

theres a gtx 970 for $181https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Quieter-Graphics-04G-P4-2974-KR/dp/B00OSS0AG4/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=gtx%2B970%2Bti&qid=1564339446&s=gateway&sr=8-2&th=1

an i5-4690 at 3.5ghz to 3.9ghz turbo for $127https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4690-Processor-Cache-BX80646I54690/dp/B00JST2QEW/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=intel+i5&qid=1564339550&refinements=p_n_feature_six_browse-bin%3A3492020011&rnid=2057413011&s=pc&sr=1-17

heres another quad core i5 at 3.2ghz with boost to 3.6ghz for only $140(and thats for new): https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4570-Desktop-Processor-SR14E/dp/B07MX2B9V5/ref=sr_1_20?keywords=intel+i5&qid=1564339550&refinements=p_n_feature_six_browse-bin%3A3492020011&rnid=2057413011&s=pc&sr=1-20

like ik almost no one will care but still. the older generation processors are still very good and are going for really low prices right now. and being able to pick up 1 gtx 980 ti for only $299 is pretty insane. especially when 2 only costs 599 and if sli can match the performance of a 1080ti, which i paid 800 for my 1080ti. and some may dismiss the xeons as they aren't meant for gaming but for server tasks but thats due to most xeons having low frequencies. and overclocking a x58 xeon is very easy with the right motherboard. all of those xeons should be overclockable to ATLEAST 4ghz with relative ease. you could have a 12 core workstation for only 130 dollars by picking up 2 x5680s at 3.3ghz stock.

idk, just wanted to show this in case anyone on a budget was thinking of getting some good stuff for low cost.
