Alright gents I need some Assistance

To those of you out there who like to make montages, what software do you use, to both record and edit?  I use Shadow play to record and I use Movie Maker to edit.  I record in 1080 HD but when i edit it in movie maker it drops it to 480p which is absolute garbage to look at.  So anyone know of any free software that i can use to cut my videos or how i can change the settings on movie maker to make it cut in a higher setting?

Adobe Premiere Pro, good for minor effects and great for sequential editing.

OBS, if you customize it right you can record lossless or near lossless locally. PM me if you want my settings for it, don't feel like digging it up right now.

Sony vegas pro or Adobe premier are both good. Also using Handbreak the video converter is good for compressing video files without losing quality. And set movie maker on fire and run, seriously. I also use shadowplay to record gameplay.

You got to save the video for high definition monitor for 1080p in movie maker bro. Try that and see if it works.
