FPS Issues (Boost?)

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how I see people hitting 60-80 fps when I only get 30-35 on lowest settings and 88% sampling.

Also wondering why it takes me almost 5 minutes just to get from the lobby of an Asylum server into the actual server.

Specs -

CPU
    Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz

Graphics
    VX2457 (1920x1080@60Hz)
4096MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 Series (XFX Pine Group)

RAM
    8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
    ASRock Z97 Extreme4

Thanks in advance. I may pay someone if they help me fix my issues efficiently!

I run the game at ULTRA Settings at 60-80 FPS with these specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K 3.90 GHz @ 4.2 GHz = $229.00

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 = $429.00

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz = $74.99

Motherboard: MSI Enthuastic Gaming Intel Z170A = $149.99

i7 CPU's are more for rendering than gaming. I am not sure about your graphics card since I have never had an AMD, I always go with the Nvidia.

Start with these and adjust as necessary. I get around 70 and have a I5 2500k that's overclocked to 3.4 GHz and an R9 290x with 16Gb ram.

Aslo if you hang out in cities (Kavala) thats your problem.

Regarding the lobby to server issue, do you have an HDD or an SSD?

Hard drives are alot slower than Static drives, which will increase the time you click join- actually getting into a server.

SSD's are always better than hard drives, also one thing you have to know is that you need extra space on your SSD for your Arma to not drop FPS, I would say about 15GB free space. Once I downloaded too many games and filled the SSD and got on Arma just to find myself at 20 FPS.

Paying people is not needed. when I had my r9 270x i got 45-70 on normal, I used this http://www.razerzone.com/cortex/boost and got solid 60.

AMD GPU's are shit for one, when I had mine it would overheat after and hour or two on Arma. Was the same series as yours.

Secondly, SSD makes a hell of a difference.

Decreasing/Increasing graphical settings in game makes a very small, if any change to your FPS because of the CPU reliance that Arma has on it over GPU.
