---------------------##¤¤##--------------------- The first recorded European contact on Tanoa occurred in 1730, when a Dutch navigator sighted several of the islands. He was followed by French explorers in 1771 and 1787. A monument in Tuvanaka, after known as Massacre Bay, to the 19 members of french crew who were killed there, is on the National Register. The first European Christian missionary, Englishman John Williams of the London Missionary Society, arrived in 1839. America's initial interest in Tanoa was one of global balance of influence among competing continental colonial powers. By the 1880s the two major European empire building nations of the time -- Great Britain and Germany -- had already established "claims" on the "Navigator Isles," centered in Tanoa. Late in 1891 intertribal warfare broke out in the Tanoan Islands, which was jointly administered by the United States, Great Britain, and Germany. American and British landing parties, the former from the protected cruiser USS Philadelphia (C 4), was put ashore to guard their consulates. On 18th of April 1899, an Anglo-American patrol was ambushed in the jungle near Saioko, on the Southern Island of Tanoa. Nine Americans and Fifteen British are killed and Twenty-Eight were wounded. By the Treaty of Berlin, signed December 2, 1901, and ratified February 16, 1902, the U.S. was internationally acknowledged to have rights extending over the all the islands of Tanoa. On November 17, 1905 the U.S. flag was raised for the first time over Georgetown and the document officially creating the American Tanoa territory was read. Located in the South Pacific and midway between Hawaii and New Zealand, Samoa consists of two entities; Independent Tanoa (South-East Island of Tanoa) - an independent nation since Tanoa had become an annexed existance, and American Tanoa - a U.S. Territory since Febuary 16, 1902. Under U.S. Navy control from 1902 to 1951, American Samoa was initially used to mine heavy metals and made use of its coaling station for the fleet in the Age of Steam and Oil Drill Sites still operate still to this day stealing all of its natural wealth while leaving villages to starve. During World War II, the "U.S. Naval Station Tutuila", now a Historic District listed on the National Register, was the headquarters of the Tanoan Defense Group, which included several adjacent island groups, and was the largest of the Pacific Defense groups. As the war moved north and west, American Tanoa became a strategic backwater. Interest in the Islands lowered and its people felt abandoned and unable to make money unless slaving in the copper and iron mines they resorted to move the south island and make money through "illegal means". The native people of the island didnt want to be slaved around by the goverment, this was the start of the liberation of the island. A group of 3 men started a group called Tanoa Liberation Army [T.L.A] Shortly after this group had been founded it started to push back the authorities, so far there has been alot of change, what this group wanted to do is to stop the slavery. The Slavery was 4 years later stopped because of the casualties of the Nato forces. Thanks to Tanoa Liberation Army the island was now free from slavery. And the [T.L.A] was now making money by running the the black market and drug deals. They grew bigger over time and year 2035 on the island of Tanoa there was a new treat, TPD wanted to bring back slavery, [T.L.A] Desided to get rid of the treat permenantly. ---------------------##¤¤##--------------------- Rules: 1.
