House improvement costs irl money?

Whenever i go to a house improvent store to buy crates for my house, it tells me that i need to pay 10$ to acess the store. So i can't buy crates, barrel etc... unless i pay 10$?

As he said above, $10 donation is level 1 donor, it allows you to purchase crates and barrels for your home.

But if i buy a home from another player that has a barrel and/or storage crate, will i be able to keep and use them?
