I dont think thats how wire works....

I don't care if you put it in a hydraulic press and pulled on it with a semi, there's gonna be some signs of force/stress. 

Buy a mixer/audio interace, and an XLR mic and XLR headset. 

A) You'll love the quality, and B.) You wont be able to cut XLR cable with your Swiss Army Knfie.

Ok so this is what happened xD my wires were getting tangled in my office chair wheels, the plug to my blue yeti fell off and got stuck in the chair, i pulled on it to get it out, and it split off
