Hi there,
This is a suggestion to help enforce RP and create a more enjoyable experience for everybody. As everybody in Asylum should attest to, we all enjoy fast paced RP and want to have a good time, however there's some things that will hinder that experience. My suggestion is to create a rule that will prevent people from intentionally restraining someone and leaving the individual in an area where no RP is to be had. Here's an example of this situation.
>Bob doesn't like Joe.
>Bob initiates on Joe and restrains Joe.
>Bob escorts Joe to a locked house or unreachable area and leaves.
>Joe is forced to wait 10 minutes in silence for his hand cuffs to break.
Situations similar to these, there's 0 RP or fun to be had by both parties. It's just a shitty way to get rid of somebody for 10 minutes so you don't have to deal with that person. Here would be a more optimal situation.
>Bob doesn't like Joe.
>Bob initiates on Joe and restrains Joe.
>Bob escorts Joe to a locked.
>Bob tortures Joe and makes him rehearse the My Little Pony theme song.
>Bob becomes bored with Joe, puts him in a vehicle, and drives him out in to the middle of nowhere so he can't come back to get revenge.
>Joe is unrestrained and forced to hitch hike
In this situation, there's player interaction and a method of getting rid of the person so he can't come back to get you. I get sometimes people are being trolls and the only means of dealing with them are locking them in a house, but dumping them out in the middle of nowhere is a much better option for both parties. Sure them respawning is something that could happen, and they'll lose all of their gear, but at least you can sleep at night knowing you're not a complete scum bag.
In other instances, the kidnapper could be killed and the restrained player may be stuck inside a house or a general fire fight may ensue, but that's completely out of the kidnapper's control. At least he's there instead of intentionally leaving the guy alone.
Please let me know what you guys think of this suggestion!
