It is hit or miss.  I went hunting the other day was able to pull away with dog meat, sheep, and goat.  Made 20k.  Then went back later in the day and couldn't find any animals.  I noticed that you have to walk around the whole area not drive around.  But bad thing is that your vehicle despawns during that time, so money x time = not worth it, UNLESS there is a cheap taxi pickup to bring you back to town.

for server 6 this is what i do, drive your car into the middle of the zone and exit it after about 5 minutes animals spawn back in shoot them and go back to your car so it doesn't despawn it will take a while but if you fill your inventory with decent animals you can make a lot of cash after you cook them they lost about half their weight so you can make even more a half full inventory of cooked meat got me 16k once
