Gaming headset

(Wired USB) Logtiech G35 is what I'm used to using. Liked them quite a bit. Decent sound, decent surround and fairly good mic and good comfort. They are discontinued now though :/ Replaced by the G430. Honestly though, the 430 sucks compared to the 35 due to loss of a good bit of functionality so I wouldn't even bother, but link provided.. https://www.amazon.com/LOGITECH-981-000536-surround-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00CQ35C1Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1480633968&sr=1-3&keywords=g35

(Wired USB) Logitech G633 would be the "upgrade" to the G35s. Got these to replace my G35s thinking I had a headset issue. They sounded about the same, if not a little bit better then the 35s. Mic and surround quality is pretty much the same to the 35s. Also a tad more comfortable then the 35s. $105. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Artemis-Spectrum-Surround-Headset/dp/B013P0K8OE/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1480634655&sr=1-1&keywords=Logitech+G633

(Wireless, USB dongle) Logitech G930s. The wireless brother to the G35. Assuming they'd have the same sound quality as the 35s, just on a wireless basis. On amazon right now for $68. Pretty much say that is a good price for a wireless, decent headset. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Surround-Headphones-Microphone/dp/B003VANOFY/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1480633968&sr=1-1&keywords=g35

(Wired, USB) Right now I'm using the SteelSeries Arctis 5, due to Logitech software issues rendering my G35s somewhat useless. Sound is good on the Arctis 5, good stereo sound, fairly good surround, good mic, and good comfort.. The only real complain I have about them is the wires. Got a wire the connects to the headset itself which then connects to a rotating knob, which controls the Game/Chat Mix (kinda useless on a PC), then a wire from the knob to the computer (USB). Other then the knob being an annoyance, I quite like them. $100 https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Arctis-Headset-Illumination-Headphone/dp/B01M16Y46E/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1480634317&sr=1-1&keywords=arctis+5

(Wired, 3.5mm jacks) Never owned the HyperX Cloud II, but used them once or twice. Sound is decent, never really tested the surround, mic is quite tinny. Comfort is fairly okay though, with the memory foam helping out. Can't say much else really. $95 for Black and Red, $100 for all Black. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1480634835&sr=1-2&keywords=Hyperx+cloud+2

(Wired, USB) Corsair void is some what of a joke. Sound quality wasn't close to the G35, for me personally, and the mic was poor at best. Wouldn't recommend these.

(Wired, 3.5mm into USB connector. Wireless) Razer....I've always had issues with the build and mic qualities. While sound is fairly decent with these, they just couldn't hold up under much stress to their framework, and the mic is only a tad better then the Cloud IIs, but still quite a bit tinny. Though, I have seen the Razer Man O' War headset. They improved upon the build quality quite a bit, sound is fairly good. Can't tell you about the mic though. I would assume its a bit better, but it looks exactly the same as any other Razer mic, so quite skeptical. $120 for Wired. $140 for Wireless. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-ManOWar-Surround-Compatible-Playstation/dp/B01KYP98T4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1480635310&sr=1-2&keywords=Man+o+war

a great way to waste money is buying a "gaming headset" with virtual surround sound.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Superlux-HD668B-Headphones/dp/B003JOETX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480637574&sr=8-1&keywords=superlux

Buy these + velvet earpads + zalman mic

Clip the zalman mic onto the headphone wire and cable tie it to make a bundle/gaming headset.

Best way to get a good quality headphone and microphone for a reasonable price in comparison to headsets.

VIRTUAL 7.1 =/= 7.1

Sennheisner PC 350 SE

I paid $250 when things things came out and I would again. For $125 these are well worth the money. The sound is far better than Astro's and the mic is almost as good as it gets on a headset. The only thing is that I am not sure a crappy motherboard will power these sufficiently so you may need an amp or DAC to power them.
