Hi, I'm Smelly Doorbell. I took a very long break from Arma 3 maybe half a year ago. When I came back, all of my character info was gone. My computer broke and I had to reboot everything and I guess my player went along with it. Does anyone know how to help? I'm a former APD Corporal and have put over 850 hours into the Asylum servers alone.

What do you mean user? It's almost as if my steam is giving me a new Arma and I lost my previous character.

Also, I'm stuck on the Apex branch of Arma. How do I get out?

If you logged in with your same steam account, that contains your ArmA 3, which you used half a year ago to play ArmA 3 on, your GUID is the same, ergo you're using the same user you used to use before.

sometime last december there was a hack that wiped the server your info probably wasnt recovered. only people that had played within the last month had their data saved

I remember the hack, I was around then. It's not just server info gone, my Arma character just isn't there anymore.

So all I did was create a new Smelly Doorbell, and I got everything back. Weird.

Check if the 'Profile' field is checked on the launcher. If so, uncheck it. That might be causing Arma 3 to create a new profile every time you start the game (if you don't have a character named Smelly Doorbell anymore).
