Steve
Well for starters I noticed after 64 bit came out my ram usage spiked so I upgraded from 8 gigs to 24 and had no issue. I actually don't use a set number allocation. I use the JEMalloc setting. Link to comment

Super Bumbi
If you're using 34 bit ArmA you'll be stuck to 2047. 64 bit ArmA don't use the following : If you have 6 gb reserve to 2-4 If you have 8 gb reserve yourself to 4-6. If you have 16 gb 10-14. and if you have 24 18-22. The reason being is because 2 GB of Ram are allocated to the System, and then the rest are used by whatever you have running in the background and what's being ran at the moment. Along with the Memory Allocation, if you use JEMallocTB you'll be finding yourself having LESS memory leaks on 34 bit, I haven't seen any performance issue on 64 bit as Large Page support exists so it completely nullify's the reason to even have memory leaks. But it is ArmA so it does happen. Other than that, you won't get any other performance improvements from the Parameters settings and it all depends on your in-game settings [ barely ] and whatever your specs are. Goodluck mate.
