  1. If you already read the rules and guidelines you're head and shoulders above most people when they apply lol.

But yeah there's no reason to not apply for cop, since you don't have to commit to cop or civ. It really opens your eyes to see the game from both sides. Most regulars and veteran players are constable at least, whether or not they play cop regularly. Just make sure you know the basics about being a civ first and have your 14 days played.

  2. Oh shiiii- Paratus got some competition incoming huh?

Yo Pentax bby I totally forgot to check out your server earlier' date=' now after all this praise I really have to.[/quote']

I'm in no way trying to compete with anyone, this is solely for having some extra fun and training purposes.

I know you're not trying to compete, I meant it as a compliment to you since it seems like you've done such a professional job with your server : )
  3. A lot of good advice here. Only things I would add are be sure to buy nightvision goggles too (in addition to wetsuit, rebreather, diving goggles, wreck excavator tool, big backpack and optional SDAR). If you're stuck out in the water and it gets dark you'll thank me.

I personally did this when I was new to get my first 1 million (old money). I liked doing it with a boat near Kavala cuz it was pretty easy to run from the beach to wherever you need to sell your stuff. But yes Kavala is busier and a higher risk area than the others.

I'd recommend going out to the wreck in a boat (when you park 100% make sure the boats velocity is 0 kph or it will drift as you excavate!). Fill your backpack then go to the passenger seat of the boat. From this seat only you can drop all the things you don't want (like silver, lockpicks). Put what you want in your boat's trunk, lock boat then go back down.

(Someone could take the info in this thread and make a guide pretty easily lol)

  4. I played on this server for a couple hours today and can say it's by far the best cartel training server I've played on. i got 80 to 100 fps' date=' there was hardly any lag and the cartels were a very good representation of their asylum counterparts. This server is basically all the fun of asylum combat without the grind of altis life.[/quote']

  6. Thanks. The link you provided didn't work but I'll look for it. One last question (I promise). Is there a way to pull up someone's name? For example' date=' a lot of times when I show up and someone is unconscious, there name doesn't show up for me. Just curious.[/quote']

Try the link again I think I fixed it.

On Asylum we use a Tilde system (~ button to the left of 1). Hold it down and put your cursor on a person and you can get their names to show. Works on vehicles too. If someone's dead their name sometimes won't show up but when you're reviving them it should say it in the "Reviving X%" loading bar.

Feel free to ask any more questions, that's what the forums are for hah

  7. Be sure to read the APD guidebook section titled "Medics" (line 101) under the "Police Etiquette and Ethics" tab here.

The TL;DR is when you come upon a combat situation between the cops and civs, the cops can down or even lethal you if you revive someone when told not to. So check your map when you get close to the Bank of Altis, Prison or Federal Reserve, if it says "Robbery in Progress" or "Elevated Security", you will want to text the cops to let them know you're there or the cops will probably shoot you thinking you're a rebel. The cops will love you if you revive them and don't revive the rebels, but likewise rebels will love you if you revive them and not the cops. So tread carefully.

Also remember that you can land your medic heli within city limits iff you are there to revive somebody. If you are landing there just for kicks, you're breaking the law, cops can search and charge you (see APD ticketing guide).

In general when dealing with cops, if a cop is close by just ask them real quick if it's okay to revive someone before you do. You can always hit ESC to cancel the revive.

  8. Remember that gold bars cannot be taken in helis, they require a vehicle to be transported, though dirty money can be flown away. And the bank starts out with a certain amount of money at restart (it used to be about $40k, not sure what it is currently) and would increase until just before the next restart (usually would reach a max of about $300k+, that was tweaked recently though iirc) but its value is reset after each robbery. The Bank spawns with 60% of their total value as cash and the remaining 40% in gold bars. If the bank value hasn't grown enough to create at least one gold bar, the full value will be spawned in cash. There is a 30 min cooldown after each bank robbery.

The driller also has to remain within 60 meters of the bank door or the robbery will be terminated (and they can't be downed or killed).

Also the number of SWAT members that will be deployed will be equal to or less than the number of criminals that were at the bank when it started. 4 or more cops need to be online for the robbery to start.

  9. Have them go through the standard procedure' date=' application, TS interview, and then a one week ride-along. However now, you would let a Sergeant or above do the ride along, and from that point you can have the Sergeant decide if he is mature enough. If he isn't he would get denied, but if he is mature enough he would get Constable. As Kowalski said there are some immature adults, and some very mature teens under the age limit. So they should be judged solely on professionalism, and character, as well as being mature.

What you just described is a process exactly identical to what we currently have. It doesn't make any sense to make any maturity judgements during the ridealong because everyone is on their best possible behavior at that moment. I have never given a RA and thought "this person is too immature". So what you suggested changes almost nothing. If anyone is excessively immature during their cadet week, guess what, they get removed from the APD.
