  1. Say you capture arms dealer, the next server restart you need to hold it the entire time. If you do, the next restart will get added fortifications like sand bag walls, razor wires, etc. If you hold it for another full duration it'll upgrade even further.
  2. 6.6.3 Go-Karts can now be driven away from the race track. Go-Karts are considered "unregistered vehicles" and police now have a new charge for people driving them on roads. Recently captured messages for captures/cartels will now properly report the amount of time until it can be captured again. The longer you hold a capture point, the better the defensive fortifications will become! They will upgrade each restart where a gang held the area for the entire duration. Removed a bunch of capture points which people didn't enjoy. Added a new drug cartel location. Added vehicle garages to every cartel. You can now access them using the flag. Fixed a bug when placing charges where some charges would be missing from the options.
  3. That server has two DDoS attacks that day.
  4. How's the desync since the patch?
  5. I'll add the old ppe as an option for those of you with good systems. As for donor town, WTF? Is that on all servers? I never touched that file.
  6. The only reason they weren't included when we added the other vests is that the "armory" reports armor levels which we found in testing to be inaccurate. They stopped a lot of damage and we had to remove them in testing.
  7. Arma. You have to restart your client.
  8. This update is quite small in many ways as this weeks focus was spent on improving server performance. 6.6.2 A bunch of server-side performance adjustments. This was the week's primary focus. Removed the contrast PPE changes. AI removed from hunting animals. They will no longer roam around but will stand in place. Fixed a bug in hunting which may have caused some of your spawned animals to be located outside of the hunting grounds and untrackable. This means you'll now find a higher density of hunting animals. Fixed bug where your stamina would not be drained when dehydrated or starving. Hunger and thirst now cannot drop below -100. Fixed bugs with vehicles spawning from garages, including offroads having lightbars, etc. Added a new Hawaiian shirt for donor level 2.
  9. Software won't change a ping. That's either a network issue or a DDoS attack.
  10. I may remove that restriction while adding a charge for driving them on streets and giving them no trunk space.
  11. Those invisible ones might belong to another player hunting. More are spawned for each hunter there.
  12. It's really seeming like ddos but it's tough to be sure. I've been playing on full servers and the lag seems quite fine except for a one or two second hiccup here and there. I've yet to experience anything like in that video. How common is it, exactly?
  13. We've had quite a few DDoS attacks today but just to be sure, if you get a bad lag spike please let me know which server and the time it happened (also how long it lasted if possible). That'll help me double check with the DDoS logs, etc.
  14. Is it frequently more laggy sauce the last patch? The animal AI is something I have to monitor. It works like DayZ AI where the client not server processes it but it's still a lot more objects.
  15. We run a customized build of extdb with every performance improvement worth doing and it runs completely asynchronously. While we began on an old framework it does not still resemble the same.
  16. Not now since I'm on my tablet but they're usually a few gbps to just under 100. Some are pretty intense. Our protection is far from the best but not too shabby.
  17. Also, if anyone is interested in knowing, each game server receives on average two heavy attacks every day, plus some minor ones. If you get lag busts that last a few minutes it's probably the case as it takes a few minutes for the filters to kick in.
  18. We've been using them since before they were even public, but you have to understand it's not a blanket performance improvement. He does changes to each official patch yet often they won't change anything important and other times they can cause issues. They're meant for when there's a problem. Each patch is a totally different case than others for his binaries as any important fixes typically go into the next official update. As for the action menu comment, we do use one. The difference is we do it in a more intelligent manner to embed it into the scroll menu, but the performance improvement is the same. In fact it was us who discovered the issue which lead to those menus being used. If you have issues with performance and lag I'd love to hear feedback on the last day, but anything prior is irrelevant now. That wasn't aVON fix, it was a networking fix which in turn improved VON. Performance should be better across the board and I plan to tweak further still.
  19. I get very high fps myself, unless I just used the scroll action menu as expected. Also I did a huge performance update yesterday which should have improved desync and VoIP a lot.
  20. 6.6.1 Aging barrels are now required for aging alcohol, as was intended. Adding storage containers to houses should no longer cause them to "stack" on each other if you have an aging barrel. The police are no longer interested in buying your vehicle ammo. Added a new menu option at the distillery to see alcohol recipes. Adjusted sale prices of whiskey to match original plans. Added two new talents for bounty hunters to improve tracking radius. Animal hunting/tracking talents have been adjusted to be more powerful, while also making base-level tracking available to all without a talent. Increased base price of processed cocaine and heroin. Completely rebuilt the hunting and skinning system. Now uses real animal AI and there are more animals to find. Cooked animal meat is now more valuable. Holstering your weapon will no longer add an action menu option to unholster, and instead will simply use the toggle button. Long stone houses which would previously only accept 1 crate/barrel can now properly accept 3. Speeding cameras will no longer break contrast settings. The government of Altis will now pay for the healing of all prisoner's broken limbs and such. Civilians will no longer get that annoying popup window when first connecting to the servers. Aging barrels received a massive max weight increase. They'll now hold 201, up from 200. Time progression for day/night cycle sped up a lot (3x).
  21. Server 1 has a modified setting which might improve the latency issues.. might make it worse too.. I'd love to hear feedback about s1 vs the others.
  22. I believe the time to payout ratio on whiskey might actually be better if you don't age fully.
