Because they played for a few weeks and then gave up after the pop died they should be chosen of the existing community that was here for years? Many many players including myself just didn't give up, we fought cartels everyday with pop ranging from 60 to 20 for months. Even that time alone is more then the few weeks you guys are clinging to. Looks like v2 is winning...also completely missed the point. Point was staff should've been setting up polls weeks ago to figure out if people wanted v2 or v3. The update looks absolutely amazing but it won't matter without v2 housing. Like retro said we will see similar numbers to the wipe and a drop off most likely. The sad truth is, you guys could develop for years and not catch up to Olympus at this point, because of the much larger development team, the only hope is to do something different; which I do see here and to most importantly respect the playerbase to try and repair the damage from rogue's tenure. I don't see just the development repairing the damage caused by not listening to the players in the first place and wiping the server. Seems like you guys are just doubling down on what the past administration did by not restoring v2 housing.

its honestly sad, great update with a lot of development but this one decision will kill it. @Fitzwe still have a few days, please make the right call here. If not asylum is dead for good. there's no chance of making a v5 post... if you don't respect the long term player base we are cooked. just making this call will bring back many players. hell just give us back two houses of our choice and it will make a huge difference. Some people paid IRL money, (Not me myself) but others for gang sheds, houses etc. Because they expected it to be a realistic long term investment on a game they enjoyed, same as those that spent 1000s of hours checking houses for the right one.... great development and new initiative will not overshadow years of player dedication and work. why would we play here after being disrespected when we can just go to Olympus and spend time grinding out houses. there's literally no incentive you are giving the long term players to continue or compensation. if you guys maybe offered 1mil per house or something along those lines it would be different. but it feels like a "get fucked" situation for a lack of better terms. side note, why arent we talking about the millions players dumped into the token system to unlock the new weapons etc, again you guys are offering no compensation for the past mistakes made by the prior owners. some people were almost 15+ mil plus into that alone from my opinion. I think you guys are looking at things from a staff perspective and not a player perspective, because you don't really have to worry about any of the aforementioned things.

so your solution is to restore to the v3 backup where people played for weeks, instead of restoring years worth of housing. The community was told prior to the wipes that there was backups incase we needed to revert and the v3 plan failed. What happened to said backups?

We have fundamentally changed the way our staff operates, the APD is represented, increased our security and processes, and done quite a bit of work to shift our community away from loud, toxic assholes and back to fun, light-rp guys. Most of this just doesn't play well or work with the way asylum is currently. Few problems with this, they won't buff rebels. APD since about 2020 have constantly gotten buffs, where rebels have not. Reason for this is simple, most staff members are in the APD high up, or have friends that are etc. Most notable buffs being cops getting ifrits which are spammed for about every event etc, passing out mk1s to lower ranks to the point where people were patroling with them (during the wipe frequently.) and high up staff members making rules to punish rebels for doing things they don't like. Like federal event spam etc. (most notability the ghost hawk policy) with no counter for the rebels. Like Olympus has titans etc. Olympus constantly maintains a solid balance with buffing cops and rebels and adding new content gear and weapons for rebels. Asylum does not. Best thing we have to counter is rpgs, and 50 cails. Which objectively are much harder to use effectively then things like the ghost hawk. Federal events are also outdated and were designed for play at the time when ghost hawks and armour were not a thing. Or the undercover system, which is just basically cops larping as rebels in my opinion. Also increasing the KOS zone is a terrible idea, because people will abuse that and use it as a reason to just start shooting everyone. Especially cops. because as is if we hear sirens we can just light them up. Cartels as is, have much longer range combat and don't suffer with this issue. My recommendation would be to get into that type of gameplay if you want to play sniper elite. I would however keep in mind that that is not the Meta nowadays like it was years ago. Now it's more based around smoking and ifrit slamming and baiting. Or if your WS, camping all the point with 50 cails and miniguns. Also your gang fort suggested changes would be extremely broken and overpowered. Having a private rebel and drug dealer is more than enough. Also this event is quite tactical as is. as it takes extremely solid coordination and team play to take out entrenched gangs on the point. The main issue with the event isn't the lack of it being tactical its gangs being free to setup on points an hour before the event. Also spraying red tags is a thing as is, its the in game war system problem is most gangs wont openly have wars, because they do not want to be just randomly shot up. whereas on Olympus its red names everywhere because people arent cowards about starting wars. The biggest problems we have are people not acting to restrict play styles that kill combat and fights and player interaction for example. rebels sitting on capture points with 50s and miniguns rebels setting up at events like gang fort early. Cops camping bottle neck rebel. organized by Lts and higher ups in most case, killing fights and not letting rebels re gear. Poor cooldown for federal events which allows people to spam events which drains the apd and takes away from their fun. (instead we got the ghost hawk policy) apd being allowed to patrol in ghost hawks, (ive been dropped on personally by a full g hawk on the main msg doing stash house. ) This shouldn't be pulled for situations like this. Even though they got smoked. Can upload the clip if anyone doesn't believe me APD being allowed to camp drug zones as undercover cops, again just seems like cops abusing the system to play as a weird combination of rebels/cops. aswell as camping peoples houses at methlab. Ive personally been spam tazed through the wall by cops at my house whilst waiting for a higher up to raid my house. This went on for 15 minutes whilst the waited. absolutely stupid. definitely what I want to do for 15 minutes when getting off work. cops being allowed to send people straight to jail, which is again abused constantly to take rebels out of fights. not for its intended purpose. s2 domination: making it so people get all of their fights in one place instead of actually playing on the main server. also the vast majority of these players don't even play the main server and are cheaters. Policies that allow captains to superseede the handbook at anytime. so they can basically act and do as they please. even though that wasn't the alleged attempt for the policy. APD fighting on cap with tasers, should be lethals only if they want to raid cartels or rebels. just like everyone else. also restricting it to swat would make more sense. still lethals only. I personally would love them to raid more frequently and fight against us, but without tasers, which again kill fights and make people have to sit in jail for a long period of time. Not to mention the downing script is shit. this is the same reason the cops loose it when rebels start tazing them Not being able to spawn in houses on rebel island, only being able to store gear, which restricts people to rebels that are constantly camped. especially by the chinese apd constant armour spam at federal events, (should be a limited amount of ifrits they can use per event) apd passing out mk1s to people who should not have them in the first place. which breaks the balance. captains being able to internally investigate themselves aswell as their buddies in the higher up ranks. its normal for them to be friends, but there should be staff oversight from staff outside of the APD for situations like this. cops getting points for bans whilst on rebel. (ive heard the argument that they shouldn't be doing ti because they represent the server) simple fix. cops have to play under a different name then they do as civ.

Never had issues with you man, don't know if you remember but we used to slam each other on church 24/7 1v1s when we both were trash at the game. You helped me a lot personally and ive never heard you shit talk anyone. Tbh we both had some really funny whiffs back then LOL. Personally I haven't played since before the wipe, because I did not agree with wiping players progression like the majority of the people here. Seemed like an echo chamber decision made by staff members at the time, because when it was discussed in teamspeak the vast majority of the gangs were against it and voiced said concerns. Regardless though Vortex should be permed, for what he did to doomba. I'm happy to re-produce screenshots if staff wants to right that wrong. You've spoken down to me personally many times, aswell as my friends. I do appreciate accept your apology however. I fundamentally disagree with your assessment of the majority of crimson however. As I was talked down to and insulted by them, more than any other group on the server. I remember one of my first gang boats where I was called trash and terrible at the game and told to just quit as a new player. How do you think that's going to play out for the majority of people. They will quit, I'm a little more thick skinned however and stuck around and got better over time. I think you guys have created sort of a echochamber where you think crimson is great and does very little or no wrong. Maybe you guys do help new players, I can't attest to that personally as I don't know and haven't seen it. I can however attest that I was robbed several times in my first few weeks here by crimson. I think the important point to take away from this is, doing some good and helping new players; doesn't take away from all the bad crimson did. Look at Chris peacock, he's one of the biggest mouth pieces on the server and goes around literally insulting and trashing everyone. What have you guys done of as a gang comprised of a large amount of admins to try and improve the situation with him specifically? I fully support freedom of speech and people being able to say what they want; but as I aforementioned in one of my above posts, when you have a high volume of admins in the gang you need to have some oversight as to what your gang members are doing. Because at that point you guys sort of represent the server as a flagship gang/group. I'd also like to note you guys openly let people in your gang that accused people wrongfully of being pedophiles which I have a huge issue with. Specifically vortex dming shark fire and several other people with said accusations about Doomba. This I have a huge issue with. Screenshots were posted proving this and nothing was done. These are the people that were representing this server aswell as crimson and this is a HUGE issue. The only time I personally saw you guys roleplaying and not being toxic/interacting with the general player base over a 8 month period was when the temporary switch happened to Pygros Pirates. Right when the name changed back though the gang went back to its old ways. Other than that you guys basically just logged on to do federal events, server events like gang forts and to fight cartels on occasion.

I played for 6+ months because I became a even remotely decent player; one of the hardest things was keeping the drive to consistently play, when people like yourself are constantly spouting off and trashing other players because they aren't as good as you or your buddies. Most of your gang mates specifically (crimson) were constantly toxic to the general player base when it came to fighting and events. I'm willing to bet a vast majority of players have quit this server because of this behaviour; especially with the high volume of admins in crimson at that time. Now this isn't me saying that asylum should be a place that panders to everyone. I'll be the first to admit; I've said and done quite a few toxic things myself. But you guys need to have more foresight with how your actions affect the general player base; especially when admins are heavily in the mix. Which it was in the the crimson.

Your guys' lack of communication is why this server is dead. Radio silence after the wipe, and radio silence now. Nothing has changed—continual promises to improve and address issues like this, but a serious lack of follow-through. This post was made on October 8th, and a month later we’ve seen no updates, no proof of change, or any clear direction on what the community is waiting for. You’re asking all of us to work with you and wait, but again, no communication. The server was wiped against the advice of the majority of the player base, and now we’re backpedaling, yet the problem still isn’t fixed. No one cares about money and stats when the entire housing market—something people spent years grinding for—is gone. I joined at the start of 2023, I believe (can’t remember exactly), and personally, I have absolutely no drive or interest to play after losing my gang shed, meth houses, etc. Petty? Maybe, but that was just six months of progress. I can only imagine how the players who’ve been here for years feel. I had hope when I first saw the post about the cancer in asylum being removed (Rogue) but nothing has changed, and you’ve all failed to keep your word—falling short as always. Have you not learned that this lack of communication is what killed this server multiple times? The lack of interest from staff members, etc. Nothing but the same old story. Fix the housing, or Asylum is dead. There’s no reason to come back when players can just start over on Olympus at this point.
