We completely understand the problems Tanoa had. Lack of a Police faction, coupled with overpriced drug commodities, created an environment where everyone held hands and profited greatly. This is not how Life servers are intended to work, nor is it a viable system which can be allowed to continue.

When we "balanced" (which is incorrect, because Pure Coke was still better than Meth in respect to $/hr as well as ridiculously minimal risk compared to Meth) the server took a hit of approximately 40-50%. It dropped from 50-60 people to 30-40 on a consistent basis. Were we to ever consider bringing Tanoa back, it would be a repeat of Stratis v2; where we properly balance Pure Coke for the lack of risk associated with running drugs on Tanoa, and nobody would play there.

This is not a "Strife vs. Tanoa" argument. We were going to take Tanoa down regardless.

It is not in Asylum's best interests financially, or with respect to balance, to bring back Tanoa. As such, the development team currently has no plans to bring Tanoa back.

I can see that the current Strife server is accumulating massive revenue. The balance was a piss poor attempt, the same way the Strife release has been proven to be a complete failure, applying the same logic, you might as well give up on Strife because it didn't turn out the way you wanted when you were half assing it.

The locations of cartels, stores and the rest are completely dynamic and you could change them to diversify the way the map is played. The development is there, all we need to do is find a good enough balance for the server to work. The Asylum team made the mistake of making something overpowered, instead of making something under-powered and buffing it if needed, it's much easier that way to fix mistakes.

Asylum staff need to take responsibility for mistakes instead of insisting the community doesn't understand or know what they want to play.

This is a Strife vs. Tanoa because you replaced the previous Tanoa server with Strife, so how isn't it? Within a day or two of Tanoa going down you put up Strife on the same map, how is that not a replacement?

Go ahead and bring back Tanoa. Nerf coke, and then see how many people actually play it.  Tanoa was a money farming server.  Nothing more, nothing less...

Are you that ignorant? You do realize small changes to both the price of coke and it's time to create would effectively remove that principle of the server?

It would of required less work than Strife to fix it and would have been much more effective in establishing a larger player base.

If someone in the staff actually understood the problem at hand, maybe we could have got to that conclusion earlier, instead of ramping up the community with "its a farming server". If staff took it more seriously, instead of coming online and camping at coke pit as a cop, maybe players would have too and played on it more, instead of trying to avoid the whole situation.

For the 4,157,421 time, cop pay is as good as it's going to get right now. All other ideas have issues that heavily out weigh the positives.

So you are pretty much stating the system is perfect?

    There's always a better idea.

Can? Must be replaced with the same type of motherboard, along with finding the compatible damaged parts, you already got over 150$ for the motherboard then replacements, you got a few bucks. Then whether he's gonna put it together or a repair service, and then finding all the other problems.

i recommended speccy for a reason, in-case it was just his pc overheating. But if it's not, it might not be worth fixing.

It's always worth fixing when you look at how much his build is.

The same type of motherboard? Are you smoking some dank shit lmao? You only need a mobo that has the same socket which I bet i can find close to one hundred different models of.

He has the right to RMA every single one of them parts due to how new they are if he bought them from official vendors, no point throwing thousands of dollars down the drain because you are too lazy to think a little bit harder or ship some items.

  5. It isn't your motherboard because if other PCI-E x16 slots aren't working, that isn't a coincidence. If you are still able to get the computer to post, obviously the motherboard is capable of powering on and adequately powers and controls the CPU and RAM. If your PSU was the sole cause, you'd most likely experience your computer having a burning smell, or you wouldn't be able to turn it on, or in most cases, your power supply will surge protect itself by turning itself off then on when trying to power it on.

If your computer without the GPU is able to post for an extended period of time without immediately powering off, it's fine.

If you want to be positive it isn't your motherboard, you can always try:

    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=31222.msg178956#msg178956

    A good bet is this:

The GPU was probably receiving inadequate air flow (can you smell a bit of burning?) and therefore overheated, the GPU failed while being powered on, causing drivers to crash and your OS to malfunction, this probably gave you a BSOD and could have messed with many other factors (windows immediately shutting down is bad for you kids).

RMA your GPU for free, your vendor will test it for you and let you know if there are any issues, if there are, chances are you will get it repaired or replaced for free.

If the issue stays, swap out parts until an issue is found. No point playing a guessing game.

7700k comes out, 6700k price will drop shortly after (maybe not new ones right away, but plenty of people will be selling them on ebay right away) IMO not worth getting a marginally better CPU unless you do tons of 3D rendering or video production work. Gaming performance will be negligible. As far as the 6700k being outdated, this is incorrect, it is actually overkill for every single game on the market, and all games coming out within the next year. by all means if you need a CPU upgrade and want to futureproof yourself for 5 years, 7700k is where its at.

Not correct by any means, the only real price drops are within the graphics card market and that's due to the vast advancement from cards such as the GTX 760 and Radeon 7770, which retailed at £140 which doesn't make sense for their performance in comparison to newer cards.

CPUs don't drop as harshly due to their lack of noticeable performance increase, even from haswell to skylake, there was no real price drop (~$15 in second hand sales) even with a large difference in architecture and not to mention DDR4.

6700k is by no means overkill, almost all games are bottlenecked by CPU currently.

I'm not sure how the 7700k would futureproof your PC for the next 5 years when you are saying the differences between the two are negligible, surely they'd both do the same job in future proofing in your eyes?

Devs will need to change the whole mechanic for that then. Right now the person needs to be killed and then executed and harvested with a skining knife.

If you think people is not going to kill other people to harvest their organs for money, I invite you to play a few more weeks and see how people handles everything here.

They for sure, are gonna kill for money.

I feel as though my suggestion fixes both the issue of the mechanic being rather unrewarding and having lack of RP involved.

The whole mechanic is poor right now, it might as well be fully reworked.

  9. People acting like rising the price by less than 2x would make the whole server hunt down people to specifically take their organs.

It's just a quality of life for those who actually capture and RP. (I can't remember if you can take organs from those who are dead or not)

If we increased the price and made it so you can only harvest organs from players who are alive and have their hands up, it makes sense for people to rp as opposed to kill them or down them. Once your organs have been harvested, you are given a debuff of some kind.

The best way to learn HTML is to look at existing sites, steal their code, knit pick it and look at each piece and use Google as well, for example:

    http://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_dropdown.asp

Or that's one of the best ways to stay completely oblivious to how to think for yourself.

I'm a Java developer but I'm sure I can help you out with the menu, PM me.

  11. Rap sheet just means you need to put a bit more time into RP.

Unarmed Civ: "Help, APD, I killed 14 people in self defence"

Officer: "Let me search you and check your ticket."

    Officer: "Here's your pardon."

Unarmed Civ then goes to commit many more manslaughters and repeats process.

The rap sheet simply means more effort on the civ's part.

If we are going to RP at all on this server then simply RP yourself out of your rap sheet.

Let's say you had 10 counts of bank robberies in the last 24 hours. You could easily come up with an excuse that you are a discrete cleaning company employed by the federal reserve and rebel outposts, you take necessary risks to ensure their environment is clean. The issue is that the CCTV catches you and alerts the security, which is out of your control. Any cop who questions you about why would you continue commit bank robbery, you would simply tell them that you must continue working otherwise you cannot earn money and therefore survive. Alternatively you could say the following: Racers, Pizza delivery, Parkouring, House near FED, Camping near FED.

Just create a premeditated RP story before blabbing on about robo cops. Albeit we have very few fair cops right now, the rest give large tickets or just simply pardon someone as soon as they mention self defence or turn themselves in.

Police officers are used to uphold role play and therefore we should reward successful role-play accordingly. If you are going to play music down your microphone throughout your processing, don't expect a pardon.

Edit: As far the ticketing guide goes, surely with the implementation of a rap sheet there should be necessary edits to the guide.
