Looking to buy a new rig

Do not buy a rig from cyberpower, alien, etc.  Unless you don't care about spending a premium for not having to put it together.  Even then I would advise against it.  They charge a sizable premium over putting the parts together yourself.

If you can put together legos and follow the instructions in the above link you will save a good chunk of money.  My first build took me about 2 hours to go from parts in boxes to windows installed and ready to rock.

You'll want:

SSD for Windows + ARMA

Intel i5 6600k

8GB RAM

GTX 960+

Enough power (Good Power supply)

Watercooling for your CPU

better go for a i7 build arma is based on cpu power

go for some thing like a  i74790k wil be cheaper then the skylake and only a 15  % performance  hit

and no dont bye pre build they usually use older stuff or ask a huge premium

its really not that hard to put a computer 2 gather just have a look at some build guides of

Doesn't ARMA only 4 cores?

Thought the i7 has a bit more clockspeed but not worth spending on if specifically for arma

There isn't really any game I can think of that really takes advantage of four cores. Plus most people who get i7s have 4 cores. An i5 is generally just fine for gaming but it also doesn't cost much more for the upgrade. Especially with the budget this guy has, it would only benefit him. Although there aren't many, but more and more advantages are coming from having the ability to use hyper threading. The use is limited for the most part at the moment but Bohemia and many other developers are aiming to get more use from it. Anyhow, yes 100% build the pc yourself. It's easy, you learn something, you get a better build from your budget, and you feel accomplished afterwards. Unless you accidentally open the cd drive while installing windows and fry your motherboard. :kappa:

No.

You are looking to build a new rig.  Start there.

Ogre can attest this is wise advice

Ogre bought his pc, and it was expensive. Found out for the same price he could have easily afforded some of the best parts out there if he did it himself.

Goldberg also has great suggestion, sites like the ones he linked can tell you what part will fit, and mass order the parts for you. Awesome people here.
