Either that or just laid silent for fear of retaliation.

None of them should have to feel afraid of what others are going to think or say about or against them. None of them should have to feel afraid of getting points or having their rank taken. It's a video game and some people take it too serious. You just can't get 100% professionalism out of people who are doing something to have fun. If you're not aimlessly going around being messy and talking shit about other higher ups and doing things to make the APD look bad who cares what you say. Not everything the higher ups do reflect upon the APD all the time everyone understands at this point that alot of things the higher ups do reflects upon who they are as a person and not what Captain Ed or something Captain Durga implemented a long ass time ago. It reflects upon that person for the most part.

I've never had my steam download anything that fast is there a setting you can change for it to do that? I was running a 42mb download on my old connection and it never got anywhere past 2mb/s on steam

I don't want to put out names, but these people were definitely not sergeants before. This was back in like September last year when they mass promoted. I'm not saying they didn't deserve it, but they just moved up in the ranks hella fast.

I remember now haha we're talking on steam rn but yeah you're right I don't think it wasn't deserved though if we're talking about the same person.

    this ^

What I was getting at is I've seen people starting day 1 cadet week, then before I knew it were starting day 1 Sergeant.

To be fair those are usually former Sgts who sucked someone off to cut a deal for their rank back. I don't really see this as a problem. If they were actually new to the APD, then that is definitely a problem but I don't recall seeing any of that

It actually doesn't. We have had multiple members of large gangs in power positions. All those people choose civ over cop and left or went inactive and got removed.  No-one really cares what anyone is in.  I was in Bad Blood until the day they went poof, still made Sgt, no one every looked down on me for being in the gang either.

Not talking down but you didn't really wear the tag on cop from what I recall. Wearing a tag on cop is like the difference between a storm and a little drizzling rain when you're in a big gang.

This is still not implemented?  I tried to get this to happen when I was a SGT also.  Precinct based promotions for Corporal + is the best idea.

Another good gang cop who was Sgt right here in my opinion. Don't know where you went or what happened but just thought I'd throw that out there. I think for the most part you knew enough to be a good Sgt and lead others despite the other things I've heard people say about you.

At the moment, the promotion system is fucked up, I will personally say that, and other sgts agree with me. Past few days I have brought up the idea for a precinct based promotion system, which I believe will be a much better system, so you can play on the precinct you like, and only have to get to know the sgts and Lts there. Hope it goes through, but it's not looking to hot.

Suggested that a looooooong ass time ago when Durga was the only active Captain and that went 100 to 0 real quick. (nothing to do with Durga)

It was also brought up back when the first Chief Of Police debates were going on and it didn't happen then either. But good luck with that

    Just a few points.

1.Out of all the things wrong with the APD why would you focus time and effort on a system that already works perfectly fine. Always has. always will. This isn't A3L.

    2. As a Captain you seem to have really bought into the whole cop vs civ mentality which is disappointing. Perhaps you should try some rebel activities or wear some gang tags and see how you get treated, just get another perspective of the variety of ways people in the community play asylum. You seem far to focused on what big gangs do and not how such a policy would effect every type of player. Not everyone has 10 or so friends in a gang able to successfully break them out of jail or the ability to convince a jury.

    3. mk20 is a great weapon in the right hands, for both ranged and CQC engagements. Cop load-outs do not cost that much for the average constable, higher ups spend more but they should also make more due to the higher amount of time they play cop. Anyone coming back 5-6 times with a load-out maybe shouldn't be allowed to buy one.

    4. Playing cop is the single most easy way to make money on asylum. Requires no-little effort for some and big returns for the collective work of all officers.

    5. Budbringer is spot on for a lot of this. The fact is that one or two players who can lead or shoot on cop make the world of difference in any fight. I'm honestly tired of hearing how one sided the bank is.  It's not the bank its the teams, the players on either side. You have people in gangs with over 2000+ hours fighting a big mix of players with variable experience, people who might have only played a few weeks. To find any cop who tries to discuss a strategy or to lead is very rare, its not just a higher up issue but when these players are active its game changing for scenarios such as the bank.

You know what would be interesting, take an average channel of cops and make them defend the bank against a gang who will play as cop. I'd bet my whole asylum account that the gang cops would win, in ANY scenario.

If you want this to change you'd need to find experienced players of asylum willing to contribute to the APD or meet requirements for promotion. That is a real issue, attracting experienced players for higher roles in the APD.
