  1. It sounds like this isn't really for you, man. What you just said is sort of the entire point of the game. You make it with your truck, you have that adrenaline kick. You get robbed, it sucks. Otherwise they are like GTA missions and there's no point doing it in multiplayer. I still don't understand how you are getting robbed and killed all the time as an EMT. 90% of the game doesn't bother because we don't carry anything of value.
  2. I'm a bit surprised you've been killed that much in such a short time. I've been killed probably four times in a week. I have a hard time believing it's really been that bad. People will shoot medics who heal people they don't want healed, and I've been held up and shot maybe twice. Maybe you had a string of bad luck.
  3. This is kind of the same as the topic you just made before, but I'll chime in. That is more a part of you being new than being how it actually is. I've never gone an hour without reviving someone, you just need to pick your battles. People definitely respawn. If you're in a vehicle, don't bother taking calls that are over 5k away -- You wont make it there, and they wont wait that long, even if you could. If you want to take every call, you'll need a helicopter, but even still, most people will not wait for you. It's a bummer, and some folks put forward great ideas to combat this. But for now it is what it is. Robbery can definitely be a problem, but your medical gear respawns. Just don't carry money with you as an EMT and you the robbery wont be an issue. Stick to populated areas, especially while new. Run to the sounds of gunfire or follow (a good distance behind) police when they are using their sirens. It's almost certain they're going to a place where there is or will be shooting and violence. Take the talents, repair peoples vehicles, repair broken legs. Even with it's shortcomings it's pretty fun to play. You just have to adapt to the situation in the game. Edit: I was James Archer in server 2. To answer your question (I didn't realize your radio wasn't on) we were in a group because we're both EMTs. Coordinating with other EMTs is really useful, so when you spawn as EMT, you should always turn your radio on, and leave it on channel 1. Then you can tab to the radio channel like you would switch to directional/group.
  4. I know I already posted, but I've been an EMT pretty much non-stop since I came back to the game (James Archer -- Server 2). I wanted to sort of comment on everything from a newbish perspective, because while you're getting a lot of +1's, so much thought went into this it deserves a lot more. Ranking Structure For the ranking structure -- This is fantastic. The only thing I would suggest (and I admit to it being borderline pointless) is another rank. That sounds superfluous, but, speaking at least for myself, there is something about moving up. I imagine Medical Director will be few and far between. Something to fit between EMTs and Medical Directors (Maybe Paramedic?) could probably help in the achievement mindset that gives people a lot of satisfaction in moving up. Maybe a bit too cuddly an idea, and I wont be bothered either way. Rules These are great, and common sense. #7 is doubly important, as I've noticed while playing that there will be a ton of medics on, and using the talent I have to see EMTs, I can see they are trailing people and capturing stuff with gangs. I suspect it's one of the reasons I've been shot on site several times -- people assume I'm a gang EMT. I would though suggest holding off on #3. I will shamelessly admit that after a day of flying all over Altis in a helicopter, it's something I will never do again unless something like the Organ harvesting comes about. I have zipped along Altis at 280km in my heli, crossing huge chunks of territory only for the person to respawn with three minutes left on their timer. Usually at the price of missing several calls in Kavala that I could have been a block or two from if I hadn't tried to be a real EMT and helped people around the map. I beg you not to implement #3 without implementing some sort of relief for medics who try to traverse the map to help people outside of Kavala. Right now there's 0 benefit to leaving the city, which is a real shame. I love the organ idea. As far as rules, I'd also love if the microphone thing was enforced. We've got radios and direct chat and as it is now, most medics (obviously, most are trolls right now) don't use them. I haven't used teamspeak, probably should, but there aren't many medics I've actually been successful in coordinating with, mostly on account of them being gang medics/not using or having a mic. Talents Awesome, love the list. The only thing I would worry about is Master Combat Medic. It makes complete sense, but unless the powers that be are 100% certain they can root out every "corrupt" EMT, this would be incredibly OP to have in the wrong hands. As long as you're confident that it will be dealt with though, this is awesome -- I'm always bummed when someone gets RDMed twice and I can't pick them up again. Small things to fix/add Sirens are sweet now. Thanks for whoever did that. The option to drag the unconscious would be incredible. I've showed up on a scene of someone dead in the road, went to heal them, and then the person who VDMed before I got there swings back around the block and mows me down too. Anything that helps make the helis worth it would be awesome. and God Yes. Or at a minimum organ harvesting. Random Suggestions Being able to sell medical supplies in the field would be awesome. Although since we are unarmed, if they are items we are paying for ourselves, it may make us even more of a robbing target. I'd love to see non-EMT defibs be more of an issue as well. We definitely have the advantage as we have the items and what not, but we shouldn't be SO easily replaceable. I admit to not knowing off hand how much defibs cost rebels, but the prices for civvies should be significantly high enough to make the EMT a better option in all but the most dire of cases. And the oath looks fantastic.
  5. This is my first post, I've played before off and on, but only lurked on the forums. When I came on a few days ago after jumping on EMT, I thought this was really a disappointing idea. I've been mostly on #2, and tried to be a good medic and citizen -- the thought that I'd likely not be able to be an EMT with not much play history to show was a bummer. But then I got VDMed by my fellow Medics. A lot. Today I was ran over a tleast 15 times while healing people, all by my fellow medics. Not the "oops, sorry" bumps you get during even extreme lag; the 90kmph in Kavala, turn the wheels and aim for you sort of VDM. I imagine there is a reason they aren't whitelisted, and I wont pretend to know better. But with such a limited slot amount, when four of the online medics are VDMing, that's a bad situation.
