Bersabee
Hi guys, im thinking of starting to record some gameplay and was wondering which recording softwares I should use. I have fraps installed but it kills my fps in towns. I refuse to use bandicam because its aids too. Ive tried shadowplay but it wouldnt work for certain reasons. Is there any other options i can use? I want it to record ig sounds and ts for example, not just ig. Ps: Ive recently factory reset my computer so havent retried Shadow play. Link to comment
Mike Stmria
OBS or Plays.TV Link to comment
Abzie
What's the issue with shadowplay? Are you using a separate audio output device for TS? Windows and TS need to output to the same "default" device in windows sound settings for shadowplay to record them both. Link to comment

Like only audio and blank video or just video no sound, or a zero byte .mp4 file? Edit: Also, enable Desktop capture if you're using borderless windowed mode. Demonic
My shadowplay fucks up pretty often. It flickers on and off for about a good 15 seconds every once in a while and it lags my game and restarts recording whenever it's done flickering. Link to comment

Abzie
See my edit above, then close the tray icon for GeForce and run GeForce experience as admin (properties context menu -> compatability tab -> run as admin). Link to comment
Zoex
I use OBS, its fantastic, you can also use replay buffer over there so it will have "Shadowplay style" of a recording, I personally use it for both recording and streaming, love it. Link to comment
CyanogenCX
Hmm, haven't had a problem with shadowplay so far. Honestly if you can get that fixed it would be the best recording program because it barely reduces your fps (Maybe by like 1 or 2 max) Link to comment
RiverThrough
If you play in fullscreen windowed shadowplay wont detect arma 3 unless you enable desktop recording in shadowplay settings which then records everything in your desktop if you aren't playing the game. Link to comment
Abzie
Just now, Zoex said: I use OBS, its fantastic, you can also use replay buffer over there so it will have "Shadowplay style" of a recording, I personally use it for both recording and streaming, love it. The problem with OBS is it uses the same codec that shadowplay uses, so if shadowplay won't record, neither will OBS under the same circumstances. Unless you use CPU based encoding (which is bad for arma). Just now, RiverThrough said: If you play in fullscreen windowed shadowplay... Already touched on that Link to comment
Cre
Can vouch for Plays.tv! I've used both Shadowplay and Plays, I think both are great. Edited January 25, 2016 by Creic Link to comment

Hakeem
I had Shadowplay (because of my nvidia gpu) but now it wont record shit so I use Plays.tv, which is the same shit and gives you the same options. Bersabee likes this Link to comment

SV Paul
Shadowplay is the best. I did a test and I only lost 1 FPS. I tried OBS and had 4fps loss not a big deal but SP would be ideal Link to comment
RiverThrough
Obs multiplatform which is the rebuilt version of obs is pretty awesome in the sense that you can add multiple push to talk keys. If you are like me and prefer to set your recording software to push to talk instead of having it continuously picking up your every breath but communicate with different hotkeys in game and teamspeak/discord then you realize you need more than one push to talk key set in order for whatever recording software you are using to pick up everything you say, shadowplay only allows 1 push to talk key, and obs only allows 2. Looked into plays.tv which was recommended here and realize it also only allows one push to talk key which is a bummer Link to comment
