  3. Game Night - 07-28-2018 @ 10 PM EST Last night, @LaGrange, @Baka @Innateocean and others...we were playing https://skribbl.io/ and Cards Against Humanity with some community members. It was a lot of fun and I stayed up way later then I wanted to. (#worth) Anyways, I was thinking of replicating this, but adding in some games that I have not touched in my humble bundle account and giving them away as prizes. We can play the games listed above or we can do events in Asylum, have not decided yet and open to ideas. Here is the list of prizes: Brigador: Up-Armored Edition Plague Inc: Evolved Shoppe Keep SUPERHOT Tiny Echo Owlboy The Norwood Suite Life is Strange Complete Season (Episodes 1-5) Black the Fall Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition + Titan Quest: Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom Portal Knights Forts Conan Exiles Blackwake OR $75,000 Asylum Cash So this is how game night would work. Pick a game everyone wants to play, whoever wins would choose a number between 1-15 and would receive that game OR You can just win $75,000 in Asylum Cash.
  4. Yes people will refuse and shut down, because it is demoralizing when it happens to you, at least for me. I think the whole I’ll Comp you because I broke server rules is stupid, but I understand it and it’s the way the devs want it so we must follow the framework they have in place. Just like bada said, it’s who you know, to an extent. All information about what to do regarding player reports, appeals, comps can be sought out. Some of that information is on the map in-game. The problem with people is that they are lazy and aren’t willing to look. For example, my mother had a run in with her insurance company. They were billing her even though they canceled her insurance and she was trying to resolve this for about a year. Her problem was that she was tired of this problem and wanted it to just go away with a snap of her fingers, but was not willing to do research. That’s when I stepped in and we filed a complaint with our state government that it finally got resolved “oops our system messed up, sorry for the inconviance - we won’t be seeking restitution”. The point is, my mother was lazy and kept going in circles, she didn’t know who to call and BARELY asked me for help, she is still mad at me because I added “more” work for her when I was doing the heavy lifting with the communication with the complaint. But she reached out to someone who might know something (who you know) and we figured out a solution. Back to Asylum. Most the people I talk that need support are lazy, and don’t want to do the research or work needed to resolve their issue. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD! Where there are process in place to help that, YOU JUST NEED TO TAKE TIME AND LOOK. Tl;dr People are lazy and aren’t willing to look to find the correct information they seek.
  5. It is funny when people say you cannot compare this to real life because this is a game. This game is based on real life. The Asylum Community and real life share a lot of common values and beliefs, which can be seen in both the server rules and the APD guidelines. If you cannot make those connections and try to hide behind "its just a game" you are just coming up with excuses to justify your actions. I understand people need an outlet, a place to release the stress, and doing so is highly encouraged. I have a very libertarian view when it comes to this stuff. Have as much fun as you want, but once you start interfering with other people trying to have fun as well, I have a big problem. Yes accidents happen and the admin team is pretty well trained to use #empathy and correct those mistakes, but if you keep making the same mistakes and aren't learning, then why are you here? The admin team will not allow you to continue playing on this server. And if you are a whitelisted individual, you better believe its going to bite you in the ass. Actions have consequences, deal with it.
  6. Damn APD abusing their "Cop enter" and calling it "commandeering". Watch out for the Man, man.
  7. Cuz people will be looking at how cool the medics are and not the heli.
  8. The apple pickers normally do.
  9. Nikola Tesla's Team Won! Congrats to his team! Sucks the server lagged, but you can expect more events like this happening in the future. Leave a like and comment below how many times you shot the Hemtt driver.
  10. It will be stationary ready to be lockpicked for the taking, so no convoy.
  11. In about 2 hours, 11:30 PM EST @Ba-KA and I will be hosting "Capture the Hemtt Event" Gather a team (MAX OF 6) CIV ONLY on Server 2 and your team will battle to control a hemtt full of gear. The winners get to keep the hemtt that has gear. Meet up at donor town in a group and await for the admin message. I will TP you around so that the teams are separated. The Hemtt's location will be reviled via ADMIN message.
  12. Hello, So @Ba-KA and I have been brainstorming some new ideas (mostly @Ba-KA) and we are very excited about some of them. That being said before we roll these out and start testing/executing them we would like to set up some ground rules so that incidents in the past don't repeat themselves. Deazy's GROUND RULES Events are meant to be fun for EVERYONE, not just one faction/team/group. If you stumble upon an event (unlikely, but it does happen), turn around or risk death APD Officers/White-listed individuals are held to a higher standard (Always have, always will). Always act PROFESSIONAL Always act COURTEOUS AGAIN, you are held to a higher standard, good rule of thumb, if you have to ask, its probably not okay. No pop shoots / Shooting before the event starts No killing/downing anyone waiting to partake Its okay to talk shit, we highly recommend it, but LISTEN to instructions. There will likely be an "Event Coordinator". Most the time its @Ba-KA when I host them, but some support members are likely helping as well. Listen to them. Their names will have "event" in them. Impersonators will be kicked and asked to change their names Event STARTS and ENDS with an admin message. The zues bolts you hear are the sounds of someone(s) being killed. No excessive trolling. Events are meant to be FUN for EVERYONE. *This is not meant to be an exhausted list of ground rules for events, and each admin might have their own; however, this is a BASIC list of guidelines I have made to help ensure events go a lot smoother. Failure to follow these will likely result in your death and/or followed by a BAN, because again, events are meant to be FUN for EVERYONE. A friendly reminder that "Administrators have the right to place bans for things that are not necessarily written that we feel to be toxic or threatening to the community." TL;DR Don't be a Jerk, don't be an idiot, be patient, and listen to the instructions given.
  13. Yes asking cops to participate and finding a spot they want to defend takes time.... Asking civs to participate and finding a spot to set them up takes time. (Much less times then caring for the APD) Can't do it at the same time and when people are fucking around it takes longer. Oh like flash banging the admin...oh like wait what did you say? Oh wait we should do a convoy event... Oh wait I need a tp back to HQ, Oh wait I need a TP back to the place. The organization failure is the fault of your fellow officers.
  14. The TL;DR is: Attempted to do a COP vs CIV event, Cops decided to be assholes and shoot at civs before it started. I guess its too hard to follow the expectations of the Standard Operating Procedure of being professional.

    Events DED?

Nope...just tried to do events again tonight and people still find a way to be idiots/toxic/trolls/wanna be. Im not doing anymore for awhile.
  16. I'm done doing event for awhile.....Tonight shows why admins don't do events.

    Events DED?

@Ba-KA and I are going through which events would work best in this regard. Comparing this to an APD training is comparing apples and oranges. People attend APD training's to learn something / afk so that they can just get corporal. (They care about their ranks so they don't wanna mess up) Events people go to have fun / win money and is 80% un-whitelisted participants. Well...that being said the amount of whitelisted people who are banned for messing up events is 50/50. People get into group think during events and think they can hide behind the actions of the many or that their intentions were not to mess up the event but to rectify a situation for which they believe they have been wronged, which will start a chain reaction. It doesn't matter how many times Myself or Ba-Ka say not to kill someone and don't be an idiot, there is always that "special snowflake" that thinks they can get away with it. My biggest fear is that I set a time and place, someone comes in and just vests everyone..........or worse. Even with knowing that they will be punished, in their eyes what they have done will be worth it. Setting up events takes up a lot of time and energy. I myself don't always have fun running them because of how toxic the community can be/is during events. Even when trying to talk to cops to organize them to do a cop vs civ, they always have something to complain about, there is always that one person who wants to fucking sing while I'm trying to explain what is going on, ask me why the server is taking a shit, or why he/she was banned for shooting someone at the event, or can we do this other event, it is sooooooo much better and so on and so forth. The civs have their own piece of toxicity they bring to the events and some of it overlaps with why cops are toxic, but mostly just yelling, screaming racist shit hoping the staff never finds them in the mobs of 30 people, talking shit (which is funny as hell), trying to find a way to be annoying, running around, and simply not listening. In the past week I have run a lot of events, during those events I think I have banned 3 people...only one was lifted. This is more annoying because now, instead of setting up the event, I need to open up another tab to ban that person, write a quick and accurate note so I know why I banned them, and then continue on.

    Events DED?

@Ba-KA and I have been going back and forth about posting events on the forms. Posting events on the forms: The PRO is that everyone will know what the event is and can organize themselves....(Maybe)? Gives people advance notice. The CON is that We will have A LOT more people then the average event in-game. This makes it harder because most the time its just @Ba-KA and I, and with server stability the way it is, its hard. People are toxic...and can plan out being toxic In-Game Events: The PRO is that most the time is when we do civ vs cop events its been pretty even. We just send an admin message and people just show up. Little planning. The CON is that people are toxic, don't listen, and like to cause problems. Sometimes, very rarely we get fewer then 5 people show up. Much less organized. *This is not meant to be an exhausted list rather just to hit some major PROs and Cons, and that to let you know that @Ba-KA and I have been debating in regards to the events we have been hosting.
  19. That is side chat in a nutshell
