Samperino
https://dev.arma3.com/post/spotrep-00064 TL;DR: Added: An ability to select the game platform (32-bit or 64-bit). On 64-bit systems Launcher will start 64-bit version of the game by default. 64-bit Arma 3 so hopefully no more memory leaks and runs a lot better. Rambunctious Cheeto
@Promethieus if you ran a 32-bit would that affect preformance heavly or would it not.In other words is running a 64-bit from a 32-bit cause major diffrences. Markymark likes this Link to comment
Haych
Why would the gameplay be different? nothing about the gameplay changed. Flax, Noble, Scott and 1 other like this Link to comment

Uhh that makes no sense. If you have a 32-bit operating system you are incapable of running a 64-bit program. Arma 3 now just has 64-bit capability for people who have 64-bit operating systems. It just has to do with how much memory the game can use I believe. Link to comment

There aren't a lot of gameplay changes but lots of under-the-hood improvements. Link to comment

Super Bumbi
TL;DR - 64x Like they said, no more memory leaks for those with 64 Bit Operating Systems. Alot of bug-fixes and what-not, over all smoother engine now. And you no longer get stuck in sand :)))) Edited March 17, 2017 by Super Bumbi Markymark and Rambunctious Cheeto like this Link to comment

Rambunctious Cheeto
@King why not switch back to 32-bit Link to comment
Super Bumbi
x32 Means that your System is limiting your Hard Drive of Solid state's ability to read and deposit memory in memory banks. Along with that your CPU is limited to set amount of memory packages due to it being x32. x64 opens up alot more space for your System. The reason people are receiving bad FPS is because the game becomes more taxing when on x64 meaning that it's going to be using alot more of your memory on the system. Depending on that usage that'll set how fast your game will run along with your PC. So in conclusion you have x32 for the low end PCs that function on a decent 30 fps - 50 and then you have the people that would like to push their computer on x64. Getting that smooth 60 fps.
