Idk about all of them popping at the same time,

The only reason i thought that is so gangs couldnt just focus all resources on each individual turf as it pops. If they pop at the same time gangs will have to split up their numbers to fight each turf they value. It will give smaller gangs a chance to cap a turf, as well as make fights more interesting for larger gangs, as they will have to split resources to fight separate turfs at the same time. I could be wrong tho.

Turfs limit the amount of gang members that can be present in the area to capture it. It's an equal playing field after the limit is reached.

thats only true if you're capping. if we already own it we jsut dont touch the flag and we can send as many as we want it just goes back to us

  3. With V2 coming out it may be a good time to revamp turfs. As it is right now it's really easy for a large gang like DH to dominate turfs, as they pop at the same time every restart. This means we can just gear up a turf before it pops and smaller gangs have a really hard time capping them. Not only that but since cops know the turf times as well, they tend to sit at turfs and wait for them to turn red and roach the fight which makes it that much harder to fight for the turf. Part of this is because only one turf pops at a time, and it allows everyone to focus their efforts on one turf. What if instead of each turf popping one at a time, they all popped at the same time. This would force the gangs that own them to focus both on defending what they have and capping the ones they want, rather than just swarming the one. It would also allow cops to still gather at turf's to catch bounties when they pop, but they'd have to be a bit lucky to guess which one people will be at. The timing of the turfs should also be randomized as much as possible, while still popping multiple times a restart. Thoughts?

You legit want the 65k for crates?

its not my fault im poor lol, i havent had 6 years to earn money like the rest of you lol. I was more curious about the house storage though, cus from what i heard you could upgrade your houses. Crates are kind of like upgrades so will it carry over?

  6. So with the new house system on v2 not having crates, are those who have crates for their existing houses going to get corresponding upgrades on their new house storage? or will there be a comp for crate costs or anything like that?

  7. If i were to guess they are gonna update the databases and do an initial test to make sure everything is communicating well. If it works they will be able to release and if not they will know what needs to be fixed and then give us a release date. But I'm sure they wanna be more cautious in announcing a release date considering all the grief that they got when the missed the first one.

They only people I see this benefiting are those who use the IA system as a malicious tool to attack those they do not like. Those who report for every little infraction and then attempt to hold it over that officers head. Or come to the forums to yell that all of the apd is corrupt because they didn't like the results of a submitted IA report.

As an example: Brand new cadet gives an incorrect ticket. Civ pays the ticket and reports the cadet. Action taken on the report. The cadet was talked to and allowed to explain what happened. Cadet had rounded the 2500.00 ticket to 3000.00. The action taken in this case was simply talking to the cadet and his constable to ensure the process was corrected going forward. But since no points were issued there was a cry of favoritism and cover up.

By posting what action is taken I can only see more cases of players taking to the forums to post about cover-ups because they don't agree with the action taken. Not every offense warrants a blacklist or even points.

If you do have a genuine concern that an IA has been handled improperly you can take it to any of the current captains who I assure you have no problem smacking a lt if it is warranted.

In a situation like the one above, it could simply say "Action taken:First infraction, cadet spoken to". The people that stand to benefit are the community as a whole that feel like SGT+'s do what they want. And the only people who have anything to lose are the people who break the rules. As a whitelisted player, you are held to a higher standard than others and are expected to know and obey the server rules. If you are found violating the rules of the server you can expect to receive harsher punishment.  I have not seen this as being the case. This requires discipline at times and if you cannot comply or there is just that one person constantly getting on your nerves, it's time to take a break.

If officers are worried about being targeted by someone for breaking the rules over and over maybe they should take a break, even if they get reported for small infractions they are still infractions. Overlooking multiple small infractions is the slippery slope that leads to ignoring larger infractions. Not to mention plenty of civ's get banned for multiple VDM's which most would agree is a small infraction. If apd officers are held to a higher standard would a pattern of violating a civ's rights not warrant some action?

Even if the reporting player isn't happy with the outcome of the report at least there is some transparency. This added detail wouldn't need to change any way that reports or points are handled, however if people know for sure that apd officers and higher ups are held accountable for their actions it may ease some of the concerns that players have with the overall behavior of the APD.

Yeah because cops flipping their shit at a 5k bounty and endlessly respawning to drug fields doesn't turn players off more lmfao.

"I can do toxic shit cus other people do more toxic shit." Two wrongs don't make a right boss.

Implying that shit isn't fucking hilarious.  Get a load of this guy.

That type of stuff is the reason people new to the sever leave and never come back. I actually like the community, and I'd like it if we had more players, not less.

You can find my opinion on there, the TLDR is it can be used to shame people, a simple action taken etc works just fine

if you dont wanna be shamed dont break apd/server rules. if people face public ridicule maybe the apd wouldnt be so bad. "APD officers are held to a higher standard" should actually mean something.

of course the kavala rat king would be worried about reports lol. Go lock a new spawn in a sports hatch, it'll be a better use of your time.

  12. In order to have some sort of transparency, and reduce the feeling that higher ups bury IA reports and such, why wouldn't you elaborate on "action taken" in reports. Such as "Action taken: Points Given". There is no reason to not tell the reporting player what the punishment chosen was, and it will give the community more faith in the process rather than everyone thinking reports on apd officers don't matter.

A guy apprehended a highly wanted criminal.  Sounds like someone being a cop. Role-play definition: act out or perform the part of a person or character.

This implies that you are judging the LT's actions by the rough approximation that someone would have of an IRL officer (apprehending the criminal). It could be a misunderstanding on my part though, as it was a short post. In any case i was trying to say that you were making a moot point because that the LT was in the wrong by both metrics, IRL and asylum.

An IRL officer wouldn't conduct a felony stop this way so if you are judging him by his attempt to emulate an IRL traffic stop he was in the wrong. Regardless this is the wrong way to look at it because as i said trying to simulate realism in asylum is stupid.

The APD handbook says that an officer should use their weapon as a last resort, and to speak first and shoot last. He definitely didn't do that and as an added bonus he shot someone that was both non-evasive and non-aggressive which the LT should have treated differently than an active firefight or something. APD officers are SUPPOSED to be held to a higher standard of roleplay, even more so with him being an LT and a role model for other officers. We cant expect roleplay on the apd to get better if we let the higher ups get away with things like shoot first and bury IA reports later. It sets a bad precedence for the lower ranks.

PS nice car but it really has nothing to do with the conversation.

What did you want. "Oh, Mr. Murder how is your wonderful sunny day going?  I see you are TYPING in chat.  That must mean I can trust you and that you want to talk.  Could we casually just cruise down to the nearest coffee shop and get a cup of coffee and discuss how you have brutally murdered 10 people and been manufacturing/distributing highly illegal drugs?"

This is a fallacious argument. IF the were to happen irl the officer would definitely have performed a felony stop by starting with weapon drawn, however he would have also proceeded to shout commands to get out of the vehicle etc, and rather than shooting immediately would have had a stand off for 8 hours while trying to safely apprehend them without firing a shot. As a matter of fact most pd's would want the suspect to stay in the vehicle until backup arrived and a perimeter was set up so that they could go hands on and still have cover. Trying to simulate realism in this game just wouldn't work. In terms of asylum the onus is on the officer to speak first and shoot last. He didnt do that. Not even close. They were non-evasive, and non-aggressive and he still shot. The LT was in the wrong.

  15. The issue is subverted expectations. When you get everyone hyped up with a release week and then push it back and repeatedly its really a downer on all the hype. Very similar to when a game is overhyped, gets released and flops due to expectations not being met. In retrospect the best thing to do would be to be honest with the community about how much work needed to be done. I understand that the devs are doing a SHITLOAD of work, with very few people, however it would have been better to acknowledge this and wait to announce a release week until they had a more accurate estimate. All that being said I think we are undermining all the work the devs are doing to help the community by working on V2 as hard as they are. Thanks for the work boys even if you do suck at guessing release dates.

  16. I think a good tweak to oil would be to make it such that any gas sold on the island has a cartel tax that goes to owners of the oil cartel. As a boon the whoever owns the cartel doesnt pay that tax. Then make it so that you cant refuel in your garage/or that doing so also pays the cartel owners. You could also add another one or two oil rig locations that the cartel cap rotates between.

could ifrits an orcas have a ever so slightly buff to glass damage so you dont get shot out in like 5-10 bullets, and maybe help promote some hot drops again, was one of the main reasons why i wanted to fly, there just cool to see too,Also since most cops on have 7.62 or the mxsw an seems like there being handed out more often then i ever remember.

I totally agree with this. It's super hard to make aggressive pushes especially against DS and FSA cus they one tap you out of your shit and then you lose your ability to push. Thats part of what makes tower drug so difficult to fight vs an established defense. The only concern i would have is for the ability of smaller gangs to have a snowballs chance in hell to fight bigger gangs. I wouldn't want the smaller gangs with less access to rpgs, etc to just get zerged by ifrits and helis and never have a chance to win the fights. On the other hand these changes would make large gang v gang fights much more fun imo.
