Brotherdave
Going to try and keep this brief. Currently i7 2600k, ddr3 ram going strong, not strong enough for Arma having issues. Looking at a few options. 8700k, Ryzen 2700x(Amd makes me nervous) or wait for 3rd gen Ryzen. My gtx 970 is running fine and I won't be changing that until it dies. I've noticed that Ryzen 2700x value per buck looks a lot better than the 8700k, 269.99 vs 369.99ish. Any suggestions appreciated. Link to comment

Your 970 should last you a good while still but there is cheaper 1060 and 1070's around so pick one up if you can but regardless a 970 will do you. Huan Lee and ł S4M ł like this Link to comment
ł S4M ł
I recommend the i7 7700k very good, runs smooth and great for over clocking. I would also recommend updating your ram to Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black 16GB 3200 MHz DDR4. I have a 1080 and its great but like Sean said any 1000 series is a good upgrade. Last time I used AMD was like 12 years ago and it was a headache BUT supposedly they are "good" now. I'm not sure how'd they do with Arma because of the potato optimization Arma uses. Link to comment

Also you might even be able to get a bare bones deal on amazon or something with a motherboard, ram and cpu ormotherboard, ram gpu that could worth out cheaper than buying everything separate. Midamaru
@Brotherdave I can confirm that even the Ryzen is not good. Friend of mine bought it against my advice and he still regrets it every time he plays Arma. Brotherdave likes this Link to comment
Twinkie
All I can say is that AMD will be easier on the pocket, but as of now, Intel will do you better for playing games. They have 10-15% on all games, and probably close to 20% in AMRA 3. Link to comment
