Yeah it's already dead. I saw this gif on reddit earlier, so I'm basically an expert on ants now! Dead ants will release a certain pheromone that other ants will detect and then carry their dead comrades away to a pile of other dead ants (a fucking ant graveyard!). Naturally, scientists have done experiments where they sprayed this pheromone on live ants, who were instantly picked up by other ants and carried away to the graveyard while trying to escape!

Fucking ants, man..

some ants get a fungal infection and when its detected by other ants they immediately gang up and kill the ant then drag it away
